A tune is only gonna go so far with a bone stock engine and the cost involved for 15hp at max isn't anything your gonna feel or notice in a 4000 pound car, but a good rearend gear 3.55-4.11 and a higher than stock stall converter would be by far the best bang for the buck for performance increase.
I still say the best things without touching the Motor is gears 3:73s or 4:10s, Exhaust drop last 2 cats throw on Glasspacks, Get Marty Tuned, a bonus without digging deep in motor Ported Plenum, 75mm DBW Throttle Body from a 05+ E250, E350, F150 pr F250 or any 05-14 5.4 2V they will all have it no tune needed I have it on mine of course it benefits from a tune but not necessary!!

@@bstfordchannel923 Also Man J-Mod isn't completely necessary if your just going for firmness Marty can tune it to be equivalent of a Jmod, Tune setting 8 for shift firmness is just as good as a J Mod and you dont have to risk hurting your trans!!
@@bstfordchannel923 And Thanks man it's crazy how much difference you can get without touching the motor too much... and yes I forgot to mention UnderDrive pulleys if you really wanted to you can actually use the alt one but it'll put out less volts but unless you have a huge audio set up no big deal imo but I don't run it cuz of my amps... another quick thing is just a set of NGK 4177 Plugs and Accel SuperCoils they do add a small bump in my opinion even just the cheap Ebay or Amazon coils believe it or not they're made in the same factory as ths Accel and MSD likely just seconds or something like that I've been running them over a year no issues!!
@@samsautoanddiy yes just little special thins that you mention can bring balance and slight oerformance out of a engine ( 4.6 sohc ) to be honest.. Now the coil game is a tough one . We tend to go with brands but we really dont know what they really do as far spark energy.. i have been thinking of ways to do this test ( on the car ) vs just ten volts.. I may have the solution ( its a theroy ) another great coment by sir I will mention you in the next video!

Before determining Gear ratios determine your size rim and tire it matters you don't wanna be taching out going down the highway

3.73's and some 225/55r16 or whatever size is stock for a 2000 mgm still does 75mph at 2100rpms, 100mph is around 3k rpm on my sct x4

1. Leave it stock it’ll last over 450,000 miles
2.Supercharge the stock with complimenting fuel mods. Leave horsepower ~400 for reliability.
3. Coyote Swap the engine with intent of supercharging. Engine can come from F150 or Mustang.
11-14 up to 650 max horsepower on stock engine*
15-17 up to ~800ish hp on stock engine*
18 -20 850ish max hp on stock engine**
*Mustang engine estimate F150’s 10-15% lower
** 18 and up Mustang and f150 have been making similar max hp in a lot of applications

Rear gears should be the first step with any car build because it's the single biggest power gain you can get without a super charger or nitrous or anything.
agreed, but i rather the turbo , but Turbo have their issue to... Rather just balance the stock engine with a tune and gears ( then 5 speed ) that will do UNTIL you need more

Just bought a new CVPI. Came with a MO tune. It's got some pep to it's step.
His tunes seem to waken up these boats pretty well... He knows what he is doing for sure

That’s so cheap considering upgrade costs on any other vehicle I’ve had. Some people just need to not modify cars; that’s why we end up with the auto zone specials
I do feel ya on ( on cheap performance ) pepboy type of deal.. We should have fun with out cars and FUN COST. Back in they did a few tweaks to get some hp we are just doing some of that... I did say zips ties or Slick 5) oil treatment... I do feel what your saying though

Hey Man I hope you see this comment; but i have a couple questions so my 03 lX crown Vic is completely stock besides I added a k&n cold air intake into it: I was wondering if I need a tune for the intake? And I was looking to get a 3.73 would I need a tune for that? Finally I wanna get the Marty tune would that kinda help me with those last 2 questions ? Also the tune how much of an impact does it have on ur mph and would I have to switch from normal to premium gas?
I have a question, I have a 1999 ford crown Vic p71 I’m getting a custom procharger for it, I’m rebuilding rear end with ford Performance parts installing 373 gears. longtubes, 262 cams building the heads ford Performance as well and getting a new transmission. As well I’m working on new suspension. Ill be getting a tune from Marty. Is there anything I should get or upgrade before I carry on?

Question the rear gearing... My 201 State Police Vick on the hi-way at 90mph runs at 2500 rpm... which seems low compared to my 40' and 05' runs at 3000rpms! What gears do you thing I have???? 3.55??

4R75E transmission doesn’t require a J-Mod but a shift kit can’t hurt
jmod is better than a shift kit ( that has been proven ) but its bets to go with what you feel is best never the less bro...

I have 2 questions that i need help with:
1) i have a 2011 CVPI, which higher flowing throttle body can i use?
2) Even with a tune, does a cold air intake actually produce noticeable power in these engines?
What do you think the HP gains would be from the tune? And 87 or 93 octane?
The tune will give better shifting ( and a better feel ) hp numbers depends on your engine and all the other bolt on ect... Gears is needed ( i think ) 230-245hp not much from a 2v but its tq and the High rev that helps the motor
Do you happen to know what the size and spline count for the steering hub? I'm trying to do an aftermarket removable and can't seem to find the proper 2006 crown Vic hub adapter to use
