- This modern quilt is super easy to make with only 2 seams per block and NO curved piecing. It's also a great introduction to applique if you've never tried it before. All you need to make this quilt is:
1-42 pc. Layer Cake
1-42 pc. Charm pack or 42-5" squares
42 - 10" x 2.5" black strips (Use a jelly roll or cut strips from a black layer cake)
There is digital pattern available for this. You can order (or pre-order) any of my designs here: revelationquil...

Thanks! Your quilts are incredible and videos so easy to follow.
That is lovely & very appreciated! Thank you very much 😘
This is a really cool quilt!! I think a teenager would love it! Also appropriate for a guy quilt, depending on the fabric choices.
I really am enjoying your tutorials! You are a great teacher, and the tutorials make quilting easy and fun. 🥰
Thank you for the kind words. I really love what I do!
FUN QUILT ... I would have better luck fusing the heat and bond to fabric before I cut my 5 inch squares.
Yes - Either way you can get the same result. I assumed most people would use a charm pack for their 5" squares so that's why I showed it that way, but you are right - it might be easier for yardage to just fuse a larger piece, then cut out your circles. Thank you for watching & commenting!
You knocked it out of the park! Stunning, edgy!
Thank you! I think it turned out great.
I can't wait to try this! I have 13 grandchildren, and im working on quilts for each one. I think this will be adorable. Happy Healthy quilting. Thanks for the ideas. 😊🎉❤
You will be very busy!
I love this. I think this pattern will make an awesome quilt for my new baby grandniece. Using my Kaffe stash.
Great idea! I would love to see the results when you're finished!
New subscriber. Unique design. I made one with rows of circles ten years ago. I traced an old cd. I was teaching grand girls to use the machine and they just zigzagged all the girls on.
That is awesome! Thank you for watching and subscribing. I remember tracing old CDs to make yo-yo circles.
Oh my goodness!!! It really no sewing curves!!!! I Love Love this!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
You are so welcome!
Love all your quilt tutorials....thank you for sharing with the TH-cam world. Best wishes from sunny western France...🇨🇵
Thank you so much! I really enjoy it!
Love you.
Just a quickie comment - rolled up fusibles, etc. drive me crazy but I’ve learned a looong time ago that if you lightly reroll the opposite direction, it really helps the product lay flat!
That’s a brilliant idea! Thank you for the advice!🤩
I find selecting quilting patterns for my top is the most challenging part of the quilting process. Please show us this quilt after you have quilted it. Love the quilt!
It’s the same for me. This one will be a challenge for me due to the bigger open spaces. I will post a pic when I’ve figured it out.
This quilt top is so cute
Love the quilt
Thank you!

It really is! I think kids would love this!
Such a cool quilt, I love all your designs. If you have a cutting machine, the circles could be cut out very easily and quickly
I totally agree! I don't have one, but doing it that way would make it sooo fast & easy!

Love this quilt , thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Looks great.
Thanks!
I would love to see how you quilted this quilt.
I haven't quilted it yet - I am going to (maybe) try some ruler work on it. I've been practicing my free-motion ruler quilting. I will post a picture when I'm done.
Great quilt! I love the way the half circles make waves. But I'm a little concerned about fraying if the appliques aren't stitched down individually.
By all means, stitch them down if you choose. If I planned on washing it a lot, I would too.
Love it
I love this quilt! It looks so fun!
It really is!
This is a great quilt and tutorial. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful quilt. Ist would make an extraordinary wallhanging. I‘d be very interested to find out how you are going to quilt it. Have you already decided?
I'm debating that right now. Since there are a lot of open spaces, I think it's going to require some ruler work. I've been practicing! I also ordered a new ruler that I think will work great. (Hopefully - Fingers crossed).
Love this one !
Thank you!
I don't understand using sticky paper just to peel it off later. What is it's purpose?
It allows the fabric to adhere to the base fabric. Ironing it releases the glue on the fabric. When you peel off the paper, the glue is left on the fabric and then you can adhere the 2 fabrics together.
How many completed squares are needed to make a twin size quilt?
For a 66" x 95", you'd need 70.
Do you know if anyone has made this quilt using something other than black? I am DETERMINED to use only stash for my projects but i don't have enough solid black. What do you think of a mottled black or maybe a black with tiny white dots? Any suggestions welcome!
I think anything that reads as a solid would work.
I used a black polka dot, and love how it looks.
I’d love to see a pic! Can you email one to me at revelationquilts@yahoo.com?
So if I have 8 colors from yardage...how many of each would I need? (For the colored portion) my brain has been doing math, and I can't math no more.
I used a layer cake with 42 pieces. So 42/8=5.25. If you started with 6 10” squares of each of your 8 colors, you’d have enough to make it.
@@revelationquilts thank you oh so much!!
Did you long arm the quilt? If so what design?
I did not longarm it. I free-motioned on my domestic machine, echoing the circles.
@@revelationquilts thank you
I was expecting you to cut the circles in half before you cut them out
