I thought you'll also cover the different timings when you reload. As for Thunder Blitz, in my experience after firing the regular thunder ammos, the reload towards the slicing ammo is much longer, compared to the reload after slicing ammons to regular ammos.
So I'm wary of my reload animation after regular thunder ammos. And I'm more confident in my reloads after slicing ammo since it feels much faster, allowing me to chain a fast swipe dodge after that

I've heard that reload 1 and recoil 1 affect normal rounds, while reload 3 and recoil 3 affect slicing / spread (and the rest is handled by recoil/ reload 2). I haven't gotten as far as to be able to test it
I heard that this is a bug where reload speed don't affect the first reload. If it is, I don't know whether it is fixed or not

An update:
If you were able to participate in the Coral Pukei-Pukei event, that monster's waist armor, at Grade 6, gives you Reload Speed 1 and Recoil Down 1. Combined with the Paolumu chest and certain other armors, his greatly opens up your options for many elements: (armor sets are Grade 6 head/chest/arms/waist/legs)
Fire: Rathalos LBG with Anjanath/Paolumu/Anjanath/Coral Pukei/Azure Rathalos for Fire Attack 5, Recoil Down 3 and Reload Speed 3
Ice: Legiana or Barioth LBG with Legiana/Paolumu/Barioth/Coral Pukei/Azure Rathalos for Ice Attack 3, Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3
Thunder: Zinogre LBG with Tzitzi-Ya-Ku/Paolumu/Zinogre/Coral Pukei/Azure Rathalos for Thunder Attack 4, Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3.
Edit: If you want to go pure raw for some reason, Odogaron's LBG is very good. It is unique in that you only need one level of Reload Speed to max out its reload speed. It also comes with innate affinity - starting at 5% and reaching 20% at Grade 10. That means you can run a set like: Coral Pukei/Paolumu/Rathian/Coral Pukei-Pukei/Kulu-Ya-Ku for Weakness Exploit 1 (2 at G8), Critical Eye 2, Burst 2, Recoil Down 3 and Reload Speed 1.
Water: Jyuratodus LBG with Kulu-Ya-Ku or Coral Pukei/Paolumu/Legiana or Jyuratodus/Coral Pukei/Great Jagras or Azure Rathalos for Water Attack 2, Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3.
For early builds , you will be stuck at reload and recoil lvl 2 for a long time, i would recommend just getting one level on each and focus your points on other offensive skills instead, since recoil and reload lvl 2 will not make a significant difference on sticky and slicing but if your main offense is spread and pierce it might still be worth it. Think of it as normal/element ammo = lvl 1 reload recoil, spread/pierce = lvl 2 reload recoil, sticky/slicing = lvl 3 reload recoil, if you could not achieve lvl 3 reload and recoil and your lbg does not have spread/pierce i would just go for other offensive stats like crit eye or elemental damage. Hope it helps in your early game hunters!

sticky does flinch monsters if hit enough times on the head in MH:N, sticky and slicing does same dmg at any range but the dmg differs depending on which part of the monster you hit (best on weak spots like wings,head)

Flinching monsters is not exclusive to sticky though. All weapons can do it as it follows a damage threshold.

Ive already upgraded jagras blitz to level 5. Do i need to replace it? I kinda like it tho
Dont have to replace it if you like it! Do note that it is only for monsters weak to water. If you're using it against monsters that are not weak to water, your water attack value = 0.
What text to speech do you use? It's divine and I honestly couldn't tell until I heard the attenuation.

I need to learn to perfect dodge. Reloading takes a while and I usually get hit at that moment. 😵😵💫 but I am having a huge blast with LBG! I never touched it in Rise such a different way to play for me. Great freaking video ! Thank you

Such a great guide, i only have 1 question. Does burst skill proc on spread shot type as well? Or just th3 two mentioned?
If I'm not wrong, burst proc after 10 hits. Spread does 5 hits. I suppose you can use burst, especially if you also use slicing ammo. But if you use sticky then maybe not

Hello. I have a question, why when im using a special skill with LBG, i cant hit the monster. The animation is show it hit the monster but no damage?
Hmm not sure if it has anything to do with latency.. if it hits, the monster should receive the dmg. You may want to log a defect via the official forum.
This happens to me a lot when fighting anjanath when hitting it with special while he is doing his charged attack. I just assume that it has a super armor when doing that attack and to time my special to not hit it while it's doing that attack. Dont know if its intentional or a bug

“LBG” and “light bow gun” are the same number of syllables, you know
AI reads it as bow(as in bow down) instead of bow. So i changed the script. These days I use my own old man voice.

I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask for tips, but you know this game better than me: what build is decently good for solo’ing a 4* Pukei Pukei (it’s for an urgent quest if that helps). It’s probably child’s play for you, but I can’t even reliably beat a 3* monster without taking a lot of damage. I am using electric weapons, so I guess my one requirement is that the build must use electric weapons. You don’t even need to make a video on it, just feel free to give me some pointers.
what weapon are you using now? lbg? hmm if you're stuck behind a 'wall' always upgrade ur weapon.
It is ok to fail, just use those opportunity to learn the monster's attack pattern.

My gyro doesnt work on bow, or lbg, or any weapon at all! It just auto tracks the monster. Is there even auto tracking on ranged weapons? Semi and full just seem to zoom out a bit. Have you guys experienced this?
yeah i think somehow there is some degree of aim assist but there is no setting to turn it off. Full gyro lets you manually aim at places that semi doesnt allow, like wings!
Do u have recommendation element LBG for end game?? Which element to focus 1st

What armour set would you recommend for early on? Currently at HR26 using a jagras lbg
Aim for tobi helm and barroth boots first. They will give u reload 1 and recoil 1.
Maybe leather chest for 20 attack
Kulu gloves for crit
Jagras waist for rising tide(g4 tho)
what does the semi and full do?
The game has some sort of aim assist that makes yiu target the monster all the time.
Semi allows you to slightly move your crosshair while full gives you more control.
no lock on skill for light bow guns or bows?
Nope. Lock on is only for melee.
Did they nerf the gear from lumu mail and Legiana vambraces ? i see only recoil lvl 1 and reload speed 1
you have to upgrade it past g6 for both.
Just my 2 cent : instead of using one account to cover wide range of weapon its isnt it more resource friendly to make multiple account with different dedicated weapon? You might strugle to juggle between account but for content in the long run its not a bad idea no?
I'm also working full time..... and juggling time with daughter and this game..

i must be missing a tutorial or something but how do i "aim" with an LBG? when i saw ur gameplay demo it seems like u can control the crosshair but mine seems like it's fixed on the screen
You can change the gyroscope sensor to full by clicking the button at the upper right corner of your screen

What is the point about lopping the main history? I know, getting 6-7-8 star monsters, but those monsters give the same rewards as 4 star monsters, no? or do they have better chance of getting rare 3-4 materials? they give more exp ye, but is that all?
you get more zenny too. Monsters at 8* drops rarity 6 materials needed to upgrade your weapon further.

Thought recoil just dealt with aiming, but faster firing is crucial. Feels like you cant succeed at LBG unless you spec for recoil for sure.
Yeah at this moment in the game, recoil 3 reload 3 seems way too good to give up. That would lock up 4 out of 5 equipment slots tho..
So if you master the perfect dodge you dont need to worry about reloading. Good but risky...

Continue with the story quest. You should get them pretty early.
Worth mentioning is the fact that the focus skill does not work on lbg and bow, thus making it way harder to effectively target and break specific body parts as you will have to manually try and hit them instead of using the focus skill to lock onto them with the melee weapons. This is why i personally don't use lbg or bow much, because i cannot break the required body parts with them...
Focus skill works on bow. It let's you charge faster. I think what you meant is lock on skill?

How does rapid fire work
There's no rapid fire in this game. Unlike main game where 1 bullet = 3 rapid fire, in mhn, 1 bullet = 1 round.

I only level 20 and the recommended equipment is 6 grade
you can get the lower grade equipment first and work your way up.

Yes that's possible BUTTTTTTT it Only affects sticky ammo when it hits the monster's head.
I would suggest to prioritize recoil and reload 3, and then elemental attacks instead

Is it normal for the LBG to just take longer to fight the same monsters than say, a hammer? In the main games I typically play LBG and bow, but I find it takes me forever to kill anything in MH Now with them, and with time being as limited as it is to hunt stuff I'm leery about learning to use them
Yeah definitely. The lower the risk, the lower dmg you'll deal. It's only fair like that

@Okerokeka yeah but another thing to factor in is player skills. Some ppl do better with ranged weapons and do badly with melee too. So in that case ranged weapons would be better.

Great Guide, My only question is would you put the Essential skills above Skills that boost elemental damage? Example would be im running Anji gear that gives me 3 in fire damage, so thats a 200 boost in damage against targets weak to fire, Is the trade off worth it?
I had a friend who went with fire 5 recoil 3.
Anja helm and gloves, rathalos waist.= fire 5
Paolumu chest and barroth boots = recoil 3.
He is ok with it because he is really used to reload 0.
I guess if you can get used to the slow reload, it's a good trade off.

It seem like LBG have a problem with element attack bcoz all sets focus on recoil and reload. So Did LBG can be push to endgame content (I mean 8*++ monster)?
i suppose, just needs to level up higher. Hopefully decos get implemented soon and lbg can be strong.

Hey Angelos, at the top right corner, there is a button to toggle between semi and full. This is the setting for your phone's gyroscope. If you use full, you can aim anywhere by tilting your phone.
How to change ammo type? I saw usually an lbg has 2 types of ammo here, but idk how to switch the types
i said it in the video haha. you cant switch it manually. You will only switch ammo once the current ammo is used up.
Actually u dont have to expend ammo to switch types. Just hold the screen and u will load the next ammo
holding the screen = expending ammo... right? haha

Yeah you can! It uses your phone's gyro. You can toggle between semi and full gyro by tapping the button at the top right corner during a hunt.
