Your in high rank with the bow!? First time made respect. Mad respect 🫡 HH main here I salute you. I’m just returning back after years off and want to learn the bow getting stomped but going to try the tips in this video 😅 can’t wait for combo part since it feels like I’m just throwing out random moves currently. Quick tip. If u have any pods like flash, dung, or screamer, thousand dragons won't expend them, however if those pods are equipped over your slinger ammo, thoisand dragons won't use them. Its an easy way to save slinger ammo, but also an easy to forget when you meant to use thousand dragon with slinger ammo.
I am a newbie that just join the game and also decided to stay with the bow, most of the guide online for bow mainly focus on DPS and build around speed runner, which is good for damage build but they don't provide the experience require for bow play style that much, your video is nice to understand and have a more natural summarize.
Great video man, ive actually been struggling to find a good guide that shows things well and you did the job. Been a bow user for a while but even a lot of the beginner parts of this video helped!
My 1st encounter with the bow was in 4U, in the arena quest against najarala. My partner chose a close weapon so I went bow, he had agitator so the monster never targeted me, so I just spammed lvl 3 shots with power shots. It was the rathalos bow so it was a piercing singular arrow, and najarala is pretty big, so the quest ended in like 5 minutes. That made me appreciate the bow a lot more.
As a GL main, branching out into the bow for a secondary. This video has been tremendously helpful. Thank you! One point of note: you moved through the moves a little quick, and the inputs for them disappeared a little quick. I can easily replay those sections, but it would have been nice it you had done a slow-mo on those so it’s easier to follow everything that’s going on with some of them.
a little trick with light weapons if you are in the early game/don't have shaver you can tenderize a spot if you hitt to time with the claw attack then the weapon attack and you tenderize with one hit of the weapon
Nice vid man, ive been playing since 3U as a DB main and im finally thinking of giving a ranged wep a shot. My friend told me bow would be a good fit since they play similar and rely on the same stuff for the most part. Thx for the helpful vid bro.
I really like the part about playing without fear, most people don't say it but I agree, Monster Hunter is not a 'fear makes you better' kind of game. My advice is playing a certain monster with the weapon a few times, it doesn't matter if you keep carting three times or take the whole 50 minutes, you gon' learn today. Being scared of a monster vs learning the moves and removing that fear makes so much difference, best monster to practice on would be either Nargacuga or Black Diablos. Nargacuga to learn how to dodge and how most monsters work and Blos for learning the jukes that monsters do
10:21 You can also change the "Target Setting" there to only target large monsters. The targeting feature is not something I use a lot, but I know it is a pain when it rotates you 180 degrees to target a small creature. Just one more little thing! :)
i would like to say, with the lunging melee attack, i have success using it as like a ''ahh im really low stamina and cant dash'' dodge move, it covers a great distance and you instantly recharge enough stamina. can be absolutely great when you inevitably run yourself into a corner with low stam and a boss charging at you.
Sup bro, I was looking to pick up the bow so this video is a godsend! I’ve always been a Charge Blade main and recently I wanted to pick a ranged option. Bow has always caught my attention and having this video show up was amazing. Would you be able to upload a “Builds” video? Pre-Alatreon would be an amazing place to start, since people always do those sieges and I think every hunter should aim to obtain the kjarr weapons and safi set. Thanks for everything bro!
100%, as a new player i also came here looking for builds.... Also, how do one obntains kjarr, safi and all that? Its so confusing...i googled, and it says Safi siege was only available in Jan 2023....like wth, nobody else can get it now?
@@VDViktorBoth Safi’Jiva and Master Rank Kulve’Taroth are siege quests done by lobbies of 16 players. Both are event-like quest doable in gathering hubs. You need to progress the story and guiding lands to a point in order to unlock both sieges. Just google them and you’ll find out. Only one of them is available at a time, they keep rotating.

this was a great video man i learned a lot, youre a natural at talking. Im new to mhw and im slowly working my way thru the main quest, ive always loved bows in games there was only one real choice for me and ive never played anything else except long sword. isnt there a way you can tenderize the monster by just shooting the claw at the monster and scratching it a few times like that? i thought i saw that, but ive never been able to do it. the tenderizing twice is killing me. i was stuck on nergigante for so long he was such a cheater. itll be nice to get those jewels you was talking about. i was wondering i have the legiana armor set in high rank and for 4 pieces it gives an extra charge level to the bow attacks. is that the same as the gem or like a watered down version? Also i feel like you did jumping lunge a little dirty, thats a sick move, it looks badass, and most weapons cant just jump on the monster basically for free.
i impress all your video you speak very well and more clearly! but one thing. i need to explain adivce a little more about armor build on alaltreon and with maybe Safi'jiva siege as well. I would like to continue the process, the two are the ones I have problems with..

I'm a new hunter in mhw and really want to use ranged weapons, since i know you need whetstones to shrapen melee weapons, but idk how to craft them. When i search it in internet it says whetstones are part of the supplies you get at the start of a quest, but so far (until you first try to capture zorah magdaros in assigned quest) i haven't found any whetstones I prefer the bow because it's more constant in terms of damage (you'll almost never out of ammo, rather out of arrow coatings). Imho the advantage of bowguns over bow is their interchangeable ammo types, so you can face monsters with different weakness in the same quest/expedition, also the damage of HBG or the number of ailments LBG can apply. second reason i use bow instead of bowgun bcs i'm the type of person that can't imagine what i'd do if i ever run out of ammo (i prefer to chase monster if they run away so they only have as little time to recuperate as possible, but this makes me unable to forage for crafting additional ammo) especially with LBG since you shoot ammo like no tomorrow
