    Awesome video, thanks!

    The first video that actually gave me some type of insight on what to do about my car's differential I have a wltoys terminator and I cannot find parts for it except on the little scam site which I'm not doing but I did the same thing last night took it all apart and the gears inside the differential we're losing not spinning I kind of put them back together and drove for a few minutes and then it went back to the same thing but what I want to say is you should have showed where it can be glued at because I have no idea and I don't want to try it and damage it that was the only part of the video that I needed that you didn't add

      I just filled the entire case with all the spider gears with hot glue, it pretty much locked the diff but I wanted it locked anyways. The teeth are stripped out causing none of the wheels to get power but by gluing the entire inside case is locks them all together, if you still wanted diff action then I'm not fully sure unless you find new parts which can be very difficult.

    How did the teeth get stripped? is it too cheap or locking the diffs caused probs?

      Dude I ain't got a clue what happend maybe the brake cleaner I used before cause it I guess (said it didn't attack plastic) idk. I also have a chinese side by side the the diff blew and we rebuilt it so their will be a video on that when I get my phone back!

    Sorry for the silly question but I'm new in this world: front differential is it different from the rear one? cuz I notice that inside they aren't the same (I guess cuz the rear has the power coming from the motor or dunno?)

      Both are pretty much the same besides the ends where the axles and CV shafts connect too.

    What does hot glue do to the striped gears? How does it help it?

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It just locks it up because with this RC car you can't find spares so I am just monkey rigging it back but if it is a name brand than you can buy spares to replace it.

      Ok. Thank for the info 👍

      Gives it more grip, basically. Using thicker oils and things such as hot glue or epoxy add grip ranging from more friction to actually physically "locking" the diff up by forcing it to move as a unit.

    Wish you has taken time to show the hot glue gun part, still not sure what part to lock up. The rest of your vid was great just missing the fix.

    i could have a few reasons as to why your diff broke:
    1. what material is it made of? these diffs are usually made of zinc aluminum alloys (quite weak if i say so myself) but it may just be a different material. if it is that weak ass alloy, your diff will strip much more easilly.
    2. are you using the stock shimming? if so, try shimming the diff, that will increase the durability of the diff by a LOT
    3. how much grease/what grease did you use? if it is the stock grease that thing is garbage, i replaced mine with industrial grease, meant for industrial equipment (obviously lmao) but any decent quality grease will work

      Thanks dude but this is cheap plastic spider gears but metal ring and sun gears.(May of been the Brake Cleaner but it says it doesn't attack plastic)

      @@IngenTechNational hmmm ok, but again, i reccomend trying to find a stronger diff, the zinc aluminum might just work for you, just make sure the grease/oil wont hurt it. (the grease i used actually dissolved the thing, THAT was the problem with mine)

    good effort but that repair won't last trust me I have done it go to your Hardwear store and purchase an epoxy glue called J.B weld its used in all sorts of things get the slow cure its stronger then apply this in the diff of course you will need to clean out the hot glue but this will lock your diff permanent

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah dude I know but I didn't have any at the moment so I just used hot glue.
