A fee years ago over in Japan, a local beer brand ran a marketing campaign based on Fist of the North Star. Along with artwork from the series creator, Tetsuo Hara, of Kenshiro holding a can of the beer, there was an app available that allowed customers to load their photos, and the app would create artwork of them as a character in the series. Brilliant marketing

Trying to charge premium like it was the 1990s or sth for stuff described by reviewers as "rain water", has not worked for ages. The competing craft beer has more variety and better pricing. Coors Light is equally bad if not worse. These big old companies like to specialize in sitting on their asses and getting left behind by the competition.

The reason this boycott succeeded so much is that beer is enjoyed in a social setting with other people typically. And now that the brand has been associated with AGP, people who drink it will look like they support it. It's not like products that can be enjoyed privately without judgement from other people.
True. Plus this particular product has so many easy to access competitors. So it's not hard to pick the next (average at best tasting beer) and not miss a beat or lose a dime. Ironically this paradigm is partially what drove Anheuser Busc to try differentiating themselves from the pack. Unfortunately for them they chose the woke, "girl boss" route to save the image of a straight, male dominated product. These boycotts need to spread to all corners of Intersec-society.

I’m pretty dang liberal, but I personally would’ve gone with, like, a really cool cowboy mascot or something. Have a dope cowboy ride up on a cool horse and shoots at an outlaw only to hit the can behind him and everyone cheers, then he takes a swig of Bud Light and rides off and it’s all cinematic. If you want someone to buy something, make them think “I’ll be more like this REALLY COOL guy that I ALREADY VIBE WITH.” And I think dope cowboys are considered universally cool.
