@@thisisfyneonce TedX became a thing the brand lost all meaning and credibility. TED has become a caricature of itself. As have most of the talks, which imitate the presentation style of the popular TED talks from when the event originally became a part of the cultural zeitgeist. While they certainly try to sound extremely profound, most these days say little, if anything new, and are in practice, the equivalent of writing your own puff piece.

When it first went available for public viewing, it was sort of interesting, because people had things worth saying. Now it's exactly what you expect from all things mainstream, same buzzwords different nobody. You already know what they'll say. I get more more thought provoking material just forgetting to bring my phone to the toilet, reading the back of shampoo bottles, at least that has *some* purpose. More than victim mentality hacks have to talk about, like I'm supposed to think they've got it bad. Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where George tells his life as a short stocky slow witted bald man, what's funny though is that as ridiculous of an example as that is, it's still true. You want to know what a tough existence is like? Men can tell you all about that one. But we don't. Because... No one cares. Even if people did, it gets old fast. They don't understand just how little empathy anyone can possibly have for these entitled casting call karens with their bitter frumpy rejections of reality.

Conan struggled during his first 3 years. The network wanted to cancel him and they literally were renewing his contract week by week at one point. Conan had to figure out what people respond well to and eventually he got his footing and built a loyal audience. Well yeah, nobody wants to massively date down, which is what dating Lilly would be. If they aren't attractive, smart, kind, self aware or funny, only the golddiggers would be interested. But I don't think there's enough money to ever put up with Lilly Singh. Like, I'd give up my rent money and risk homelessness if it meant I'd be spirited away from a date with her.

    • @Soridan

The only time there was a literal wage gap in America; during and following World War 2 cause so many men were at war, it led to so many men unable get work cause companies were hiring cheap female labor, that it actually contributed to the The Equal Pay Act of 1963.
Not just that, but I live in South Korea as an ESL teacher, where they openly discriminate, and so many men and non-whites can't get work here because they prefer young attractive females as teachers above all else (especially if they have no experience; they can pay them even less that way.) They tend to not hire males as much, not just because they're "less attractive," but because men tend to be more competitive with money and less likely to take a full time teaching job for the US equivalent of $12 an hour.
Feminists are so damn stupid, they can't do basic logic and math to see how much an actual wage gap would benefit them above all else the same way raising the minimum wage would benefit corporations above all else, cause it'd mean less people per job. I suck at math and even I know all this.
