One of them setup a 'crying room' in their offices, because her job was to make 25 calls in a day, and it was 'too much, she can't even'.

I used to work at Disney doing special events and I once got to use a manager’s office to pump (bc i was breast feeding at the time) and she had random sticky notes all over stating cringey self affirmations like “i am enough” and “i am beautiful and strong”. Working for her was never the same after that…it’s bad enough to have them at home but she had this all over her work office. 😅

Ive been amazed with the pre elon twitter ones. I highly doubt any of the ones showing how great their job is know that twitter was only profitable 2 quarters out of 10 years....its just insane, its not a video game developer or software company. You had time to take a nap? The longest break of the day for us was 30 minutes. There was no way to walk to your car, catch a nap then walk back in time. A nap is a luxury.

I’m a locksmith, I literally spend my days working on greasy dirty locks and doors on my damn knees. I make decent money but no where NEAR this idiots. I move thousands of pounds a day with my own strength at my job, and I still take time to do weightlifting and intense cardio lol. I also took an official 7 hour IQ test from a doctor and scored 132. Also have hyperphantasia type imagination that may be related to my larger than normal occipital lobes when I had an MRI scan once. Regardless of all that, even if these people are less capable than me mentally and physically, because they are extroverted, or more attractive, and carried in life on easy mode, they can get a job like this and make near quart of a million annually. yea mine can't, i've done mostly QSR's pre and post covid, now more of the same in another setting many said they hate. Funny at my last job i saw a legit influencer photo-op as i was sanitizing tables for some person to i'm sure say "he'll clean this up" to be a complete insensitive ill mannered person which is common to qsr workers sadly.
My then co-works were and did tik tok's at the job why? shit i don't know that app isn't my thing, but i do want to know how it works, to sure my past co-workers and many i see scrolling endlessly through tiktok, instagram etc don't seek to make apps, while can imagine what people think i'm into as i plan things unsure if they'll go any where.

The main problem I have with videos showing off swank big tech environments like these is that it's never the actual engineers that get to take advantage of those perks anymore if it ever was at all. I can tell you firsthand having visited there personally that Google's NYC headquarters has an entire wing on the fourth floor dedicated to LEGO, with furniture and even portraits and sculptures of notable Googlers made of Lego. All of this, the free food, game rooms, nap rooms, whimsical themed sections and decorations to try to raise morale, etc, was supposed to be for _the engineers and the other people who actually work hard_ but these do-nothings have co-opted them for their useless and pointless attempts at clout chasing.
They are parasites that need to be exterminated.

@@yoleniartz I got screwed so hard by my writing teacher in elementary school when it came to cursive. She was adamant that all letters need to be connected and that a single word should be written without lifting the pen from the paper. I had barely legible handwriting all the way through high school. Only in uni did I decide to completely change my handwriting and write each letter individually. Holy crap did that ever make things better! Only problem was everything had become electronic by that time, so apart from a couple of exams, I couldn't really enjoy my new abilities.

I remember hearing that; a lot of businesses throw away good food rather then give it to the needy, because it somehow costs more to give it away. A strange world we live in.
Untrue, Ive worked at major corporation restaurants, but the reason why they don't give the food away is because the homeless people could sue corporate if they got sick.
In Germany you have to pay taxes for give away food, not kidding. It's less hassle to sell it cheaply or to throw it away.
Here's an idea: 'sell' the leftover food to an intermediary (someone who either works for the company or has ties to it) and give them the tools to distribute the leftovers. So they can hand the food out without corporate getting sued.
It's only good for so long, but it is a strange situation, yes.

My old company TRIED those free snacks and food with us to coax us into the office. I looked at the ingredients, and that stuff is NOT healthy. Even the salad bar - the vegetables and meats are likely coated with oils and fructose syrups to make them taste good. I would nibble at some things but the better choice is to avoid that stuff altogether. Energy drinks are never a good choice.

There is currently a technical recession going on which is why you see a bunch of tech companies laying off a ton of people not just twitter. So it really is the end for these types of "jobs" because during times of stagflation advertising budgets get decimated because they aren't essential to business but they are essential for tech.
I feel so "bad" for all those who left silicon valley for cheap places, driving up the cost of living in the middle of nowhere in 2020.

I worked on an orchard every summer through high school and college. After college I joined the navy where I was an electrician and nuclear reactor operator. After that I was finally able to leverage all of that towards a great technician job where I don't have to go to the same place everyday. Not only do I make less than half of what this bitch does, but I'm super happy to have this job and I don't need to go on social media showing everyone how many perks I get and how little work I actually do. It's hilarious to me because we work at a massive meta data center and a ton of the staff are quite afraid the music is about to stop

I so desire for this woman to spend a week working hard labor in the factory that I've worked at for the past 3 years. She would find out fast that all of the snacks cost money, the lunchroom chares ruin your back and the "sleep room" is a closet where we store Amazon deliveries. We all actually love and appreciate it despite the lack of amenities. It's the heavy metal way in which we earn a living and maintain freedom. None of the entitled need apply or they will be weeded out quicky. You earn what you put in within life, there just isn't another way except to blow up the system and then, at succeeding in that, you become it.

Old sandwiches can be a valuable tool. I worked the graveyard shift at a 7-11 many years ago & part of the job was tossing out the sandwiches which had expired. I would scan them in the inventory machine & stick them in the bottom of the sandwich case.
They would sit there through my shift & the cops on duty could stop in & grab one. I learned what sorts of coffee the guys liked & kept it fresh. Kept the bathrooms clean. There were cops in and out of that store all night. I'd hear about other 7-11s a few blocks away being knocked over & realize old sandwiches can keep a person safe.
This is the kind of people that look at a working class dude doing back braking labor for 50k a year and they say: check your privileges.

I can not for the life of me understand people like this I've quit jobs before mostly because I didn't feel like I was doing something useful to society. During the lockdown I never had so much money in the bank in my entire life yet I was horribly depressed because I felt completely useless. I started obsessively cleaning my house and cooking every single meal for my family to fight that feeling and then you have people in this video that go to a job every day and do absolutely nothing. It's mind boggling
