The thing about the progs is that their reasoning and logic faculties did not develop beyond the 2nd year of life. They think that this whole world is some sort of massive game of play-pretend with 7+ billion players, and that if they say 'no, you can't do that, that's (insert name-calling here)' enough the person they're attempting to chastise literally becomes physically unable to do whatever it is they are being chastised for.
Their brain asserts that their perception of reality is equally as right as anyone else's, when it is the laws of physics, thermodynamics and probability and their consequences that produce the ultimate objective truth of our universe. Thus, when exposed to such truth, they feel frustration and confusion as the universe refuses to transform to fit their own cognitive dissonance.
Be thankful that no matter how much they rage, screech and call names, the universe does not bow to specks like humans.

The whole movement is just a way they can blame their anatomy for the issues in their lives, instead of addressing who they are, and how they conduct themselves as a person. There is usually some underlying failure or perceived shortcoming that leads to the lightbulb moment when they think being the wrong gender is the cause of all their issues in life. It's also bolstered by a "grass is greener on the other side" mentality, pertaining to the gender they desire to become, which usually leads to a reality check when things aren't really any different after the new car smell wears off.
