But this is one video I agree with you on 100%. I just thought I should let you know that you are awesome!
I always appreciate Linus. I feel like the experience you ought to expect with him is he traffics in infotainment; and that doesn't require 100% the sort of candor, good will and surprising humility I've come to expect with his content over the years.
He isn't the commentator type that Louis Rossman is, who just wants a 100% honest interpretation of his own feelings and company ethics. But damn its evident he puts in alot of effort to be as fair to everyone around him.

Thats what i thought
As a company, u never know what kind of promo you'll get from this guy :D
They knew what they were getting into with him...
Nope. basically every paid adspot in any video the sponsor gets to decide if they like where their ad is placed or not. However, someone like LTT is a great business partner, so being a bit more relaxed is safe.. but its not like they sign a deal saying put the ad however you like it, they get to confirm that the ad is okay.
I wonder how many people knows that Pulseway is just a puppet company of Kaseya, that has failed before on the same market... if you have ever had any contact with their Sales team, its full of indian people, wich is not a problem in itself, but for some shady seasons, they all have pseudo names impersonating western people. Now that, is what I really don't like in a company, or in humans in general. Faking every contact with customers makes me think there is a bigger fake move on the way, and this at the end just turns me away from this bullshit acting.
I really appreciate you bringing up how the economic issues of income discrepancy are causing some serious issues and that it should be cause for introspection among ppl who are privileged to have not been badly effected by the pandemic.
I've been floor level in warehousing, and I've actually done well out of the pandemic with a new job, promotion, and value added skill training opportunities, but I was lucky that my skills just happen to fit this period of demand. This was a huge help in understanding that it's not just as simple as a "silicon" shortage but rather a lack of infrastructure to support the changes in supply and demand.
We've got plenty of sand and ingots lol. The damn photolithography machines cost too much money! ASML needs to bring down their price but they either can't or won't. Fabs will continue rising in price too it seems.
@@DurzoBlunts tsmc just announces they are raising all production prices by 30% so we'll likely see 45-60% MSRP increases now
@@QueenFinli bruh
Its not as simple as a "lack of infrastructure". An event happened that turned society completely around. Nobody could have predicted the effect that a pandemic would have on a digital society and certainly couldn't have predicted it would result in a massive housing boom and toilet paper shortage.
@@gunmnky I agree and disagree with that. There was a huge lack of infrastructure around silicon production, and the pandemic in a sense stressed that. The fact that most of the world gets their silicon from TSMC was and continues to be a huge issue (coupled by massive labor shortages due to COVID etc)

There was a small hiccup in being able to get supplies a while ago due to COVID, but since the US is pushing for more locally manufactured semiconductors, as opposed to having them imported from China, it is being majorly supported and pushed to go into production faster. @@chief2632 Same. I mean obviously I worried about my bills before anything, but after all my expenses I used the extra money for steam lol.
Between that and unemployment paying people way more than they actually made at their jobs leading to a massive amount of people spending on things not within their actual income range. “Why I downgraded my monitor instead of upgrading my graphics card: an ultrawide story”
lol!!! so did I!
why would you buy an ultrawide in the first place if you didn't have the right GPU to push it? seems kind of dumb honestly
@@colbythibodeau1081 They might have been thinking that in a few months they will get a new GPU... but they were like thinking that last summer
@@colbythibodeau1081 Use your brain dude I bought an ultrawide 5 years ago when my GPU could push it.
@@colbythibodeau1081 Lol. You aren't thinking this comment through. When most of us who have them bought them, our cards could push games that were out. Newer games can't be pushed on these monitors or at this resolution without newer cards as well. I can go back several years when I got mine and run those games no problem...I can't now with games like Warzone without having non-competitive level FPS. Had to buy a smaller monitor instead.

Thank you! Finally! a thoughtful explanation of the chip shortage.
thank god i was thinking it's some sort of "we are running out of silicon" thing or something like that
Same here, an actual resource shortage would've been terrifying.
We are using about 3x the earths worth in resources that it can "regenerate", I would not be surprised if we had a resource shortage in our lifetime, but more than likely the next generations are fucked and we are dead anyway. Even sand is getting depleted.

Good message at the end, much respect.. support your local businesses.
If you’ve come here looking for clues this is for you:
They were gone before most of us finished the video. I watched the video 1 minute after upload.
I was here around the same time. Watched a bit at 1.5x then scrubbed for the link. Took the quiz and actually got to see the “all items reserved but maybe one will fall through” message for 5 minutes before it was OoS
@@_ac39 I managed to do the quiz aswell. Got stuck on the verifying screen then refreshed to “out of stock”. To be fair they only had 100 of them. I think this is a good way to keep them out of the hands of miners and bots but the supply is still minuscule. Good luck next time my man.
@@jkargoes4glory315 They didn’t have 100. they said on the wan show they had over 500 in stock between the cards.

@@DarkZenith I also have a feeling they said that a supplier sold some that were labled for ltt
You are correct. My son plays games, my wife works, my daughter is on Zoom and I work in IT all at the same time from home. Had to upgrade fibre line speed to accommodate all of this. I would never have imagined this a year ago.
How much is your monthly internet bill and electricity bill?
I work at a small computer shop and me have a contract with some local schools to help them with their tech. Since the schools were shut down for awhile they decided to upgrade their security cameras, Network, and started buying PCs, Laptops, and Chromebooks by the hundreds. This might have contributed to the shortages.
I work in a semiconductor fab as a process technician. We don't make CPUs or GPUs but we do make various power regulation devices used in a plethora of consumer goods. Diodes, TVSs, TSPs etc. I can absolutely confirm that 2020 was a great year for us, we made money hand over fist and are now desperately trying to recruit good operators because we were banned from doing so by corporate last year (2019 was not a good year. Redundancies). The two supply issues that we are facing currently is a shortage of semiconductor grade HCL so we have had to change from 99.999% pure to 99.995% pure and monitor processes closely. We also try to switch from HCL to dichloroethene for furnace cleaning. It's cheaper and safer. O2 price has gone up by about 60% over the last year but supply is steady. Other than that the only issue we faced was our assembly plant in China closing for lockdown.
you know, I took your advice when you said that there was going to be a chip shortage, so I got a decent computer for around $1,200 at the time and I want to thank you for that
Got mine in November and I'm surprised that it actually got harder to find cheap parts
