Yooooo Bushido blade, I played this shit on PS one in Vietnam (I didn't know English back then). I could not remember the title. But now as I am watching this video. I now know the name of this game. Thank you JESUS!
You probably aren't still reading comments here, but what I dig about your reviews is that you're an elite collector who isn't an elitist. You've got crazy good stuff yet don't have the ego that usually overtakes that. Keep it up man. I'm playing only PS1 and PS2 and these vids have been awesome.
When I saw Einhander i had a nostalgia overload! I remember playing the demo constantly when I was a kid. Thanks MetalJesusRocks, I'm gonna pick it up soon!
+TXF Remember renting this game from the local movie store myself, and LOVING it. It seems my favorites list of PS1 games is basically this list sans ghost in the shell. I used to play the SHIT out of Einhander, Bushido Blade AND Apocalypse. Another super awesome hidden gem is Future Cop LAPD
Awesome list. The music in Ghost in the Shell was so good too. Additionally, Trap Gunner and Tecmo's Deception and were some of my absolute favorites from the PS1 that nobody talks about.
Man, PS1 had SO many good games. I wonder if anyone knows this handful of gems I can recall from the top of my head: Fighting Force -> Best beat 'em up and one of the most amazing multiplayer PS1 games overall. Nectaris -> Awesome turn based strategy game. Simple, but very engaging for TBS fans. Cardinal Syn -> Pretty fun 3d fighting game. Awesome characters overall. Fantastic Four -> Unexpectedly fun gameplay and very good multiplayer experience. Moto Racer -> Best bike racing game I've played, it has both dirt and sport bike genre. I really liked JetMoto 2 too, but I don't think it could be called a hidden one. Also, Brave Fencer Musashi and Wild 9 were personal favs. Aside from Fighting Force, none of my friends knew any of these games, but all of them were really awesome back then.
wow never heard of that one, tks And Vigilante 8 is considered a watered-down clone of Interstate 76, a PC game from Activision... A little tricky to get it running on Windows 7 but you will be surprised with how good that game is, it runs on the Mechwarrior 2 engine, so lots of customization
I wouldn't argue that Vigilante 8 is a clone or watered down. But it has a unqiue 70s setting and feel and is overall just very solid. A lot of it for me is nostalgia though, I never was fortunate enough to own a Twisted Metal game when I was a kid. Just had to play whatever my parents were nice enough to buy for me :)
Yeah Vigilante 8 and 2nd offense were really good I mean I'm not going to claim they were the best ps1 games but they were definitely enjoyable I actually still have my copies with their original manuals and case and basically everything.
john tyler and not just that one of the most revolutionary games, you know what im talking 'bout the judged dog PARAPPA THE RAPPA and it also has my fave game, vib-ribbon, IT MAKES LEVELS OUT OF CDS WHATS BETTER THAN THAT
2875dulce Yeah, Vib-ribbon was way ahead of it's time I think, I mean that in the best way possible, I mean damn, who comes up with that concept? You essentially make your own DLC just by what you listen to, and it's good! xD
By far my favorite PS1 hidden gems(ish?) are Klonoa, Tomba!, Alundra, Kula World (Roll Away in US, I believe), Circuit Breakers, Devil Dice, Kurushi (Intelligent Qube in US), No One Can Stop Mr. Domino, Spider, Felony 11-79 (Runabout in US), Swagman and Hogs of War.
raafmaat in the US it's pretty damn hidden. I have been looking for either a physical copy or a working ROM for use with an emulation program for around 20 years now. I have yet to find either a reasonably priced physical copy or a working ROM so far. I discovered the game when it came on a demo disk that was included with a old monthly PlayStation magazine I bought occasionally in the late 90's sometime.
One I love is a puzzle game called Intelligent Qube. It has a dood running around a floating platform with huge blocks rolling toward you and you have to make disappear into the platform before they crush you. It has that "one more time" feeling that just keeps you playing. Definitely a hidden gem! Thanks for your videos.
Gamester81 brought his Pandora by my house last weekend and showed me it playing PS1 games via emulation. I have to admit that I was impressed! They games ran flawlessly and at 60 frames a sec.
i know Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I love any tips you can give me
@Rene Toby thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
So glad you had Heart of Darkness on this list. I remember playing it as a kid and the deaths scared the shit out of me (lol rated E for everyone, my ass). Such a fantastic game.
Ah, back in the day where I didn't have everyone's opinion thrown around about every game. A ton of these games would probably be torn apart on the internet if they were released today (if technology was the same). But just getting them with no outside information, you were able to just have fun without subconsciously adapting someone else's opinion.
PS2 was the last decent dedicated game console. The type that was made for.....mostly playing games and not trying to emulate a computer or get pointless achievements.
Suggesting someone play Heart of Darkness is equivalent to suggesting that they cut their ears off with broken glass, only the latter would no doubt be a less painful experience. The most frustrating anything devised by anyone anywhere ever.
Yes I love Disruptor! For me Insomniac can do no wrong....Ratchet & Clank is by far my favourite franchise ever, and I really love Spyro and Resistance too!
Hey Metal Jesus, I know this is an older video but I had some free time today and decided to fire up my PS1 again and the first game I grabbed was Omega Boost and reminded that I found out about this game because of this video so I had to take a minute and tell you Thanks for all your hidden gem vids they always lead to an awesome new discovery for me. Keep Rockin' Man!
+Hemlock Fury Both awesome games man. The first game is way different, it's a top down isometric and very old school. But the story and voice acting are just awesome, and it's got some neat dungeons and puzzles too.
Ms. Pacman Maze Madness is one of my favorite hidden gems for the Playstation. I'm really glad to have you acknowledge it. And on top of that, you mentioned Ghost In The Shell, one of my favorite ps1 games as well! man You're awesome.
I have that game and played it so much as a kid I recently got it again and it's so fun Definitely challenging It's very underrated I feel Nobody talks about it It's definitely one of my favorite ps1 games
There are so many hidden gems when it comes to PS1, one of my favorites is Blasto! I know that it was marketed fairly heavily prior to its release because it was a Sony game, but I was also know that it didn't sell well. I remember playing a demo of the game and remember it being extremely hard.
Dude I owned Apocalypse when I was younger....and I played that game religiously. Happy to see someone give this game the much needed love. It felt like you were John Mclane in the future.
I stumbled across this channel a few days ago, and it makes me so happy. Just nice people talking about what they like, it's not political, it doesn't make anyone angry, it doesn't make me angry and it's a breath of fresh air. Subbed.
Thanks to guys like you The Metal Jesus Rocks, I have been doing some PS1 collecting. So many thousands of titles I think you need to dive deeper into the PS1. It's a treasure trove of quality games that exceed that annoying 3D transitional period. I hope you make more of these because when I'm sifting through bins of CDs looking for PS1 titles at a thrift shop, the more positive name recognition the better.
Those aren't hidden, most gamers who have looked up great games of the ps1 or ps2 era know of those....especially since a ton of gamers when people ask for a good game from that gen will recommend that among others that are great rpg's...
i just discovered einhander today and man is it ever awesome, super tight mechanics, amazing music that pumps you up, challenging, cool blade runner feel to it and graphics that have aged well. going to be having fun with that one
The PS1 being my favorite console of all time, I love these kinda videos :D And OMG; someone ELSE other than me knows about the Ghost in the Shell game?? :D
who hasn't played the ghost in the shell game, it came on a demo disc for Europe, Australia and UK , anyone that signed up for the mailing got it in the mail.
Mee Myself Well, no one I know^^ in fact, my friends rarely play the same games I do, unless we are talking Blockbuster hits like BioShock, Last of Us, Pokémon etc. Fx I don't know anyone who has played, Ghost in the Shell, Ehrgeiz, Koudelka or Thousand Arms.
Disruptor is certainly a Doom-clone (as First-Person Shooters were known in the mid-90s), but a very good Doom-clone that departs quite a bit from the conventions the original Doom had. It was also Insomniac's first game, with the Spyro trilogy being their second project and breakout hit.
My jaw dropped when you mentioned Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing! For years I thought i'd never see a big youtuber talk about that one! It truly is an awesome game, beating the Twin Mill cup without using a Twin Mill Car is an awesome challenge by the way! Two other hidden gems for me are Twisted Metal Small Brawl, it was released after the PS2 had already came out, and was further eclipsed by TM black, so it was massively overlooked. But in my opinion it was just as solid as any other Twisted title in the series (And personally I liked it even better than 3 and 4) and the other game was The Grinch, where you played as him and the objective was to ruin christmas (Sometimes I love games where you play the antagonist) I just found your channel the other day and it has quickly become one of my favorite gaming channels! Keep up the good work bro!
I didn't think I would ever hear another person talk positively about the grinch. I am a huge game collector and to this day, the grinch for ps1 is my favorite game ever. I go back and play it all the time and it hasn't aged at all aside from graphics.
James LeBeau mindblowing that nonone has tried to make some modern take on Bushido Blade. I️ guess the closest thing would be those Xbox Arcade Deadliest Warrior games.
I find my brother awesome for giving me Bushido Blade. Me and my little nephew play the crap out of that game whenever he is over. I am utterly crap at the game compared to him, but hell, it's a really fun game and terribly underrated. Love it to pieces.
Thanks Jesus! I was waiting for you to bring up Einhander! Definitely an arcade like sidescrolling shooter that makes me crap my pants and rage in tears everytime I play it.
Squaresoft also made a nice role playing game called Parasite Eve. A Bit of a Resident Evil Clone, but a better story line. 2 Space shooters that I liked for rhe PS1 were Colony Wars and Philosima. I haven't played them years, but I would lve to add them to my collection again.
***** Great Graphics and Sound. Another game that I liked was the game Philosima, It had game play like Axelay, Gradius, and Musha, all rolled into one.
I own the Ms Pacman Maze Madness on Dreamcast. My non-gaming wife loved it so much, she used to volunteer to feed our then-infant son every time he woke up in the middle of the night just so she could have an excuse to play the game.
This might be a tough recommendation to make, given the PS1 library, but I'll give it a shot. Can anyone recommend a PS1 title, accessible to younger player (let's say... the Crash Bandicoot demographic) that has a gripping story? I imagine my future kids would get bored of the "level after level" formula and want some meaty story to enjoy, but I don't want to impose mature or complex stuff like Final Fantasy 7 or whatevs. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
To you and M J, you should check out the second tier flag ship platformer, Tomba... Also it should be said that the PS1 original had one of the best music players.
same, the platformers maybe and the hot wheels also but the shooters...yeah once you've seen one you've seen them all....just different story and maybe different mechanics but yeah otherwise not that great of a video from him...
Pixelized Dreams Just because you rage at something, doesn't mean it doesn't suck. Think back in the NES days when somebody dies and rage quitted, but tried it again once they're pissed off enough.
Fun fact loosely related to Einhander. Squaresoft's first release in america was a weird fantasy shooter for the nes called King's Knight. So you could say they went back to their roots making a shooter for the ps1
I remember playing Einhander at a KB Toys demo station when i was younger and being absolutely enthralled by the game....it was like nothing i had ever seen before
Koudelka was a breakthrough. I agree that Parasite Eve wasn't obscure, despite the fact that I fucking love Parasite Eve II. Instead of PE, put Vagrant Story, the real hidden gem from Square on the PlayStation 1.
deekismusic maybe not where you live... but here in the Netherlands, in all the years since i played it (1998 i think) I've NEVER found another person to even know about parasite eve.... only some people who knew it because of the 3rd birthday, but ive never come across anyone who ever played the original! also, the only reason i ever got this game is because my friend was subscribed to some service where each month you could order a bunch of illegal copies for 10 bucks each.... i dont think i ever even seen parasite eve in the stores :S
I have this very rare playstation 1 display and original sony tv for it..I do not own this photo...but I do have this..offer me a prize? I will post a photo video soon
My personal Hidden Gem is a point and click adventure called Blazing Dragons. It’s a fun little story with full voice acting and some funny writing. I originally had it for Saturn, but when my Saturn wasn’t working, I went and picked up the PlayStation version to replay it.
@MetalJesusRocks I've been watching your Hidden Gems series (so far SNES, Dreamcast, and now the PS1 series) and it shows just how hardcore of a gamer, and how wide my tastes were growing up in SNES in pre teen years and PS1 from 13 to adulthood. Almost every hidden gem in all your vids are games I played and seriously appreciated as a kid.....and the weirder part is all these hidden gems were games my friends thought I was nuts for liking. Although, I wouldn't consider Einhander a hidden gem, unless you're counting when PS1 was in it's peak because back then, only Squaresoft fans were hip to Einhander......nowadays it's a quintessential for any PS1 collection.
Wow so glad I stumbled on to your channel heart of darkness I completely forgot about this game was my favorite as a kid now I'm on the hunt for this game, can't wait to play it again. Good videos!!
Einhänder... thank you sir, you've helped me remember the name of a game i've been trying to remember since i was a child that saw it at a Toys are Us so many years ago.
Thank you for shouting out to Bushido Blade...all time fave...remember the first person mode...totally tricky to get the controls but once you did...Awesome sword fights!!!!!
The whole time Bruce was blasting away baddies, all I could think about was One. I first played the demo when I was only 7 or 8 years old, and it made me fall in love with shooters.
Felony 11-79 Good hidden gem, good fun driving through buildings.Of course there was a lot of good games on the RPG side but that's like an entire 15 part video all by its self :)
nice :) not much of a fan for games such as the einhänder, my fav genre is RPG. I definitely should seek the heart of darkness out though. I remember I played the Battle arena Toshinden demos waaaaaaaay back when. You didn't have that one in the list but remembered it because of the Bushido Blade you mentioned. You've been a great inspiration, do you mind if I add my very first youtube video response here? Since you're partially guilty for me making this video in the first place :3 My TOP 10 PS1 games which had the greatest impact on me
NICE. Starting off strong, I see. Omega Boost was one of my favorite shooter titles as a kid. I even have a physical copy (with the case) that I bought brand new off Amazon a few years back BECAUSE I loved it so much. Tough game, though. My brother and I used to play Hot Wheels Turbo Racing on the PS1, too. As well as at least one Army Men game and (I think) Small Soldiers. Mostly PvP for the last. Bushido Blade made me think of Soul of the Samurai, again, too. That game was fantastic, although not really anything like Bushido Blade, though. It's a story-driven singleplayer title. I totally forgot about Einhander. I'll have to pick that one up again. I think I've only ever played a demo of it (maybe through Playstation Underground's demo disc?), but I always liked it. I'm getting nostalgia goosebumps just looking at the footage! Heart of Darkness was never one of my favorites (it is SOOO difficult), but I appreciate it for what it is and I'm sure it's a beloved game to a lot of people. I could never get into it, though.
As a big fan of From Software's "Souls"-series I stumbled upon the old "King's Field"-games on PSX by coincidence but I don't know if they meet the criteria of being "Hidden Gems". I thought:" If I had known about those titles at that time, I would have loved them to death. I'm in the process of watching all your "Hidden Gems"-videos since the past few days and I'm always wondering what titles are supposed to be "Hidden Gems", cause in almost every video I played the half or more of these, which gets me to the question, if there was a bigger difference in what the stores offered here in germany than I thought. As a guitar player and gamer myself I like this channel very much. :)
Yooooo Bushido blade, I played this shit on PS one in Vietnam (I didn't know English back then). I could not remember the title. But now as I am watching this video. I now know the name of this game. Thank you JESUS!
Jesus saves
You were in nam? My grandpa never played that when he was there
You probably aren't still reading comments here, but what I dig about your reviews is that you're an elite collector who isn't an elitist. You've got crazy good stuff yet don't have the ego that usually overtakes that.
Keep it up man. I'm playing only PS1 and PS2 and these vids have been awesome.
Yeah, he's a pretty casual guy who collects because he loves the games. It's nice to see that and easy to relate to.
yeah. i agree with you MJR is a well adjusted person.
I actually have a high amount of respect for him.
You worded that really well without sounding elitist either :). (which most TH-cam comment do)
Excellent video dude, for a magnificent system. Thanks
When I saw Einhander i had a nostalgia overload! I remember playing the demo constantly when I was a kid. Thanks MetalJesusRocks, I'm gonna pick it up soon!
This game is really awesome. I finished this game but I found It to be really hard
Urban Chaos from Eidos is a real hidden gem. I was released in 1999 and I can tell It was a shape for GTA 3.
Holy fuck. Didn't know anyone else knew about Hot Wheels Turbo Racing. I used to play the hell out of it.
BagelBytes I do remember playing Bushido Blade quite a bit too.
that game is awesome!
tenchu stealth assasin series
Definitely one of the best
Awesome list. The music in Ghost in the Shell was so good too. Additionally, Trap Gunner and Tecmo's Deception and were some of my absolute favorites from the PS1 that nobody talks about.
Man, PS1 had SO many good games. I wonder if anyone knows this handful of gems I can recall from the top of my head:

Also, Brave Fencer Musashi and Wild 9 were personal favs. Aside from Fighting Force, none of my friends knew any of these games, but all of them were really awesome back then.
lol me an a mate used to play fighting force non stop!! it was a brilliant game
OMG!!...Cardinal Syn...Excelent Fighting Game
Scorpsyn Wild 9 was a great surprise
Fantastic Four lol. Game is garbage
I feel like everybody at the time knew what fighting force was. Tenchu is too well known to be considered a hidden gem in my opinion as well
Jackie Chan Stuntmaster. Nuff said.
Oh shit I just posted this one. I didn't know someone already did.
Game is so dope
Hercules Action Game was an excellent hidden gem for the PS1. It is a 2D sidescroller with some 3D action segments thrown in.
My rare gem pick would be Vigilante 8! Loved this game. It's like Twisted Metal but I always enjoyed it more.
You should also check out Critical Depth. It's by the original Twisted Metal developers. It's Twisted Metal in submarines.
wow never heard of that one, tks
And Vigilante 8 is considered a watered-down clone of Interstate 76, a PC game from Activision... A little tricky to get it running on Windows 7 but you will be surprised with how good that game is, it runs on the Mechwarrior 2 engine, so lots of customization

Yeah Vigilante 8 and 2nd offense were really good I mean I'm not going to claim they were the best ps1 games but they were definitely enjoyable I actually still have my copies with their original manuals and case and basically everything.
The PS1...easily my favorite system, it had over 2,500 games and sold over 104 million units.
john tyler and not just that
one of the most revolutionary games, you know what im talking 'bout
the judged dog
PARAPPA THE RAPPA
and it also has my fave game, vib-ribbon, IT MAKES LEVELS OUT OF CDS WHATS BETTER THAN THAT
2875dulce Yeah, Vib-ribbon was way ahead of it's time I think, I mean that in the best way possible, I mean damn, who comes up with that concept? You essentially make your own DLC just by what you listen to, and it's good! xD
john tyler IKR!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS MY FAVE GAME
I dont care about sales, but there were lots of great games
+Super Fluffy Kirby Yup!
+1 for Einhander. Was my 1st purchased PSX game when it first launched. Nostalgia! Feels!
By far my favorite PS1 hidden gems(ish?) are Klonoa, Tomba!, Alundra, Kula World (Roll Away in US, I believe), Circuit Breakers, Devil Dice, Kurushi (Intelligent Qube in US), No One Can Stop Mr. Domino, Spider, Felony 11-79 (Runabout in US), Swagman and Hogs of War.
intelligent cube is not really hidden tho, in europe it came packaged with the ps1 later on in the ps1 gamespan ;)
alundra! yeesss!!
Swagman made me think it could have been put on the Sega Genesis.
raafmaat in the US it's pretty damn hidden.

@Rene Toby thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Rene Toby It worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Nickolas Bowen glad I could help =)
I think that "Valkyrie Profile" and "Grandia" were some rare ones I'd call gems.
So glad you had Heart of Darkness on this list. I remember playing it as a kid and the deaths scared the shit out of me (lol rated E for everyone, my ass). Such a fantastic game.

Yes I love Disruptor! For me Insomniac can do no wrong....Ratchet & Clank is by far my favourite franchise ever, and I really love Spyro and Resistance too!
+LombaxJord Do you remember the credo of the LightStormers?Think fast, shoot fast,KICK ASS!
Another Hidden Gem:
Death Trap Dungeon for PS1.
It's a really hard game that I recommend.
Hell yeah, Still playin'it in 2017 man! :)
0:37: Omega Boost
1:22: Silhouette Mirage
2:14: Disruptor
3:28: Ghost in the Shell
4:27: Hot Wheels Turbo Racing
5:03: Bushido Blade & Bushido Blade 2
6:07: Apocalypse
7:11: Strikers 1945
7:50: Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness
8:37: Einhander
9:47: Heart of Darkness
Hey Metal Jesus, did you ever play Blood Omen for PS1? Recently found and played it, and it's really unique and cool. Very good voice acting too!
IronRooRoo I have played Blood Omen and it was pretty rad for the time!
I LOVE the Blood Omen series, especially Blood Omen 2. God.. I really really miss the 90s and early 2000s..
MetalJesusRocks What are your thoughts on the Arc The Lad collection, is it a good RPG?
+IronRooRoo I have two of those games, Blood Omen 2 on Gamecube and Legacy of Kain Defiance on PS2. Wish I could play the first one. Love Blood Omen.
Jersey Devil. A really good and challenging 3d platformer that i owned back in the day.
Bruno Martins i loved that game! could never get past like a quarter of the game though
I have that game and played it so much as a kid
I recently got it again and it's so fun
Definitely challenging
It's very underrated I feel
Nobody talks about it
It's definitely one of my favorite ps1 games
There are so many hidden gems when it comes to PS1, one of my favorites is Blasto! I know that it was marketed fairly heavily prior to its release because it was a Sony game, but I was also know that it didn't sell well. I remember playing a demo of the game and remember it being extremely hard.
Heart Of Darkness is a cool game, some parts of the game are pretty hard and frustrating and the game itself is pretty short despite having 2 disks
Dude! Einhander is probably one of the most underrated games of the PS1, such an awesome game. Greetings from Peru!
Jackie Chan: Stunt Master and Tai Fu the Tiger
Dude I owned Apocalypse when I was younger....and I played that game religiously. Happy to see someone give this game the much needed love. It felt like you were John Mclane in the future.
Suprised he didn't comment about the intro into the Hotwheels game, since his youtube name is MetalJesusRocks. The intro is Metallica's Fuel.
Gimme fuel,
Gimme fire,
Gimme that which I desire
MetalJesusRocks >:D
MetalJesusRocks
Gimme foo, gimme fah, gimme dahbajabazah!!!
+Jared Vincent lmao dude
In reality, he's more like Hard Rock Jesus.
I stumbled across this channel a few days ago, and it makes me so happy. Just nice people talking about what they like, it's not political, it doesn't make anyone angry, it doesn't make me angry and it's a breath of fresh air.
Subbed.
Hey metal Jesus have u played Ninja Shadow of Darkness on the Ps1? Now that's a good.game!!

HEART IF DARKNESS. THE BEST.
the cgi cut scenes in heart of darkness are breathtaking you just feel the love and hard work that went largely unappreciated in a gem like that
Legend of Dragoon! That game was so good.
amazing game, beautiful story
Loved that game. It was amazing for the time period.
I deeply love you Metal Jesus from the past !!
Try Vigilante 8 ;) I prefer this one than Twisted metal.
+Przemyslaw Szulc Agreed - way better.
Interstate 76 (PC) is the inspiration for that game
HELL YEAH! Still playin' it in 2017 man^^ And Second Offense^^
Heart of Darkness is basically the hidden gem of all hidden gems. What a stellar game.
you forgot overboard, epic game
my hidden gem recommendation is "Evil Zone" just love this one and it's not just one of those generic beat 'em ups
You should have shown Grandia and Legend Of Legaia :P
Those aren't hidden, most gamers who have looked up great games of the ps1 or ps2 era know of those....especially since a ton of gamers when people ask for a good game from that gen will recommend that among others that are great rpg's...

Fx I don't know anyone who has played, Ghost in the Shell, Ehrgeiz, Koudelka or Thousand Arms.
PikaLink91 well i have played them all lol i used to love playing ehrgeiz the dungeon crawler part was my fave but the beach games thing was good too.
So glad you mentioned Disruptor! I’ve been trying to remember that game for 20yrs!
Disruptor looks like a good copy of Doom. No doubt it's a copy of Doom.
Not even close. Very different than Doom. Very good game as well.
Disruptor is certainly a Doom-clone (as First-Person Shooters were known in the mid-90s), but a very good Doom-clone that departs quite a bit from the conventions the original Doom had. It was also Insomniac's first game, with the Spyro trilogy being their second project and breakout hit.
i played a demo of devil dice when i was a kid, the sounds and visual representation are so memorable
Omega boost a hidden gem??? Its just a pure GEM best game on psx i hope some day poliphony makes a second part. Great channel suscribe.
EN SERIO !!!!!!!?????? BUENISIMO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REAL !!!!!!!!!????? COOOL !!!!!!
But in my opinion it was just as solid as any other Twisted title in the series (And personally I liked it even better than 3 and 4) and the other game was The Grinch, where you played as him and the objective was to ruin christmas (Sometimes I love games where you play the antagonist)
I just found your channel the other day and it has quickly become one of my favorite gaming channels! Keep up the good work bro!
I didn't think I would ever hear another person talk positively about the grinch. I am a huge game collector and to this day, the grinch for ps1 is my favorite game ever. I go back and play it all the time and it hasn't aged at all aside from graphics.
Bushido Blade was fuckin' awesome.
JADE COCOON THOUGH!
That was my shit bro
Haha I still play through it from time to time man
Old macdonald
Thanks Jesus! I was waiting for you to bring up Einhander! Definitely an arcade like sidescrolling shooter that makes me crap my pants and rage in tears everytime I play it.
Squaresoft also made a nice role playing game called Parasite Eve. A Bit of a Resident Evil Clone, but a better story line. 2 Space shooters that I liked for rhe PS1 were Colony Wars and Philosima. I haven't played them years, but I would lve to add them to my collection again.
I liked Parasite Eve a bit more then Resident Evil. Resident Evil just didn't seem to creep me out very much.
***** Great Graphics and Sound. Another game that I liked was the game Philosima, It had game play like Axelay, Gradius, and Musha, all rolled into one.
Still playin' Colony Wars in 2017^^
I just picked up Colony Wars a few days ago without even hearing about it before. Glad I did, it's a fantastic space shooter. :)
I loved playing Strikers so much as a kid. It's still my favorite shmup and is single-handedly responsible for me becoming a fan of the genre
Metal Jesus, is it true you can heal leopards?
Lepers, tigers and bears too.
Oh my!
Tomba's got a good story?
It looked like another Spryo-esque deal from the videos I've seen.
Mike Mike
Those both sound good.
I think I'd sooner go for Abe's Oddysey, 'cause it looks more like it has it's own unique atmosphere.
Mayeur000Donz Gex:enter the gecko, one of my favorites when i was younger :D
HAMMYZ94
I remember that one!
That was sweet!
Watched this video again today, bought omega boost last sunday at the garage sale last sunday. Really loved this game back in my kid days!
The original resident evil games on ps1 are great
Sooo glad you included Heart of Darkness, I found it in my adult years and it became one of my favorite games ever
Jersey Devil!
Disruptor is an amazing shooter! Loved it when i was a kid!
None of these games appeal to me, I'm surprised I usually dig his picks.
same, the platformers maybe and the hot wheels also but the shooters...yeah once you've seen one you've seen them all....just different story and maybe different mechanics but yeah otherwise not that great of a video from him...
Joshua Miller What, you can say that about platformers, and a lot of other game types, or actually any video game really.
These games are pretty awesome especially the 1945 and apocalypse games.
Thank you for mentioning heart of darkness... easily one of the best games I've ever played
Arin disliked this video because of Heart Of Darkness.
***** Yeah, but Arin raged so hard when he played that game. I'm actually thinking of getting it.
EINHANDER!!!!!!!!
I remember playing Einhander at a KB Toys demo station when i was younger and being absolutely enthralled by the game....it was like nothing i had ever seen before
Parasite Eve and Koudelka I consider to be hidden gems.
Parasite Eve is in no way obscure.
koudelka was fucking glorious.
YES I love Heart Of Darkness! A hidden gem indeed; thank you for mentioning it in your list! One of my favorite games of all time!
tomba 2
I remmber it was on the cover of every magazine back in the day, so it was kind of big
Totally agree with Disruptor, Ghost in the shell, Apocalypse and Heart of Darkness. Those games rocks.
Nelson
I have this very rare playstation 1 display and original sony tv for it..I do not own this photo...but I do have this..offer me a prize? I will post a photo video soon
My personal Hidden Gem is a point and click adventure called Blazing Dragons. It’s a fun little story with full voice acting and some funny writing. I originally had it for Saturn, but when my Saturn wasn’t working, I went and picked up the PlayStation version to replay it.
01:22 You saved me a drawn out comment. Seriously, this comes as one of my most loved games ever.
This list kicked ass! Some of these games I totally didn't get around to playing but a lot of them I did and I loved every one of them!
Man, Disrupter was such a cool game. I could never figure out how it got swept under the rug. Good video man.
Apocalypse was amazing. My brother and I would play it all the time. The shooting and power-ups were so much fun.
Disruptor was amazing. One of my all time favorites from the ps1.
Awesome list! I've heard many times about the Ghost in the Shell game, now I have a new target for my collection
The whole time Bruce was blasting away baddies, all I could think about was One. I first played the demo when I was only 7 or 8 years old, and it made me fall in love with shooters.
MetalJesusRocks, you make great videos. I didn't know there were so many games I have never played before.
EINHANDER... THANK U MJR
Used to play this game back in the day but I honestly never knew the name of it until watching this video. Great game!
Einhander!!!! That game is so good. Glad to see it on this list.
Fantasic Hidden Gems Video, Fantastic Console. Metal Jesus Rocks
Wow! I remember playing half those games. Great video man. On to part two.
Felony 11-79 Good hidden gem, good fun driving through buildings.Of course there was a lot of good games on the RPG side but that's like an entire 15 part video all by its self :)
Thank you for the list. I played Disruptor, it's awesome. I'll try Ghost in the Shell and Omega Boost.
metal jesus all-in towards exceptional racing games, relatable and i've never seen that game meaning cool.
nice :) not much of a fan for games such as the einhänder, my fav genre is RPG. Since you're partially guilty for me making this video in the first place :3
My TOP 10 PS1 games which had the greatest impact on me
