Thanks! That's a song we wrote years ago called "4 Cents Short"... It's an instrumental demo that we intended on putting lyrics...but it never happens. Instead, it lives on with my videos!
The acting on Resident Evil made me LOL so hard but yes, it was hilarious. Same with the cinematic scenes with "real" actors on BOTH Command and Conquors
gosh man, I have been pouring over lists of hidden gems / obscure / weird PS1 games. I don't know why I waited so long to check out the dude, Metal Jesus! Your guys' list is stellar! I cannot believe I forgot about or have never heard of these games. Thank you so much for making these videos!
Maybe it's not a hidden gem, but Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is a fantastic game that I feel doesn't get mentioned too often when people look back on the PS1.
More PS1 hidden gems: Nanotek Warrior, Board Game Top Shop, Demolition Racer, Juggernaut, Vanark, RC De Go, Tobal No 1, Tales of Destiny, Power Shovel, Saiyuki Journey West, Brahma Force, Destrega, Carnage Heart, and Rogue Trip Vacation 2012.
Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time is a Fantasy 3D platformer. If you are a big fan of Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Spyro the Dragon definitely check this one out. Nobody talks about this game and they really should. This is a must-have and my pick for a PS1Hidden Gem.
Very interesting games, I really like the look of Raycrisis, Elemental Gearbolt and those Fear Effect games. To see a game with a cel-shaded 3D game that good,so early into the 3D game era is amazing
I have a honorable mention for a hidden gem on PS1, a very unique fighting game called Destrega. Its a one of a kind fighting game where you fight your oppenents in a fully 3D environment either punching and kicking or shooting projectiles at your oppenent, so much fun.
Thank you Jesus. Buster Bros is a game that I have been trying to find the title of for the last decade or so but to no avail. All of a sudden, it pops up on the screen and now I'm happy as can be. I definitely need to go find myself a copy now. :D
I want to thank you MetalJesus for your excellent recommendations and video's on your channel. For years i have been mostly exclusively a Rpg gamer and i have collected mostly role playing games, but you have opened my eyes to a wide spectrum of other great titles out there and have inspired me to really start collecting games of all different types and genre's. Thank you very much!
Trying to picture Reggie, lookin like the guy on his T shirt... calling every game store and busting down the door to get his hands on Barbie Sports.....
One thing that I really loved about Colony Wars was that it had a branching storyline. Depending one how many missions you completed in a chapter, the course of the war would sway either in favor of the League or the Empire, and the missions for the next chapter would change accordingly, which would also split along one of two paths-ultimately terminating in one of many different endings. Pretty remarkable I think! Not even many rpgs can boast of that level of branching storyline!
I'm loving these vids. The Fear Effect games are some of my favs on PS1, and I was eagerly anticipating the third game, Fear Effect Inferno on PS2, but was crushed when it got cancelled. There were even talks of a Fear Effect movie that never got made. Damn it all.
I'm so glad that Colony Wars was on your list. I just recently bought all 3 for under $10 total and play them on my ps3, they totally still hold up! I actually like the 3rd entry the best, wish they would make a new one.
I watched your first PSone hidden gems video, and kind of wasn't really interested in any of the titles you mentioned. However, seeing a part 2 to the series co-hosted with Reggie, I know for a fact I will find some titles I definitely will need to check out. Keep up the awesome work "Metal J" , and here is hoping you have a shit ton [metric bro] more videos with my man Reggie co-hosting! I seriously love Reggie's opinions, and recommendations. He is definitely my style of gamer, and I wish he had a bigger following/youtube channel. All he needs now is a great editor and some spare time, since he is such great personality, but seeing him in a video with you is ALWAYS a real treat!
Alundra... By far the best game on the ps1 for me. I don't seriously know how much of a hidden gem it is but no one seams to talk about it and I find that incredibly weird. It is simply a beautifull game, from the craphics, to the music. Everything is in place with the game and one of my friend summed it up with this sentance. - It's a Zelda copy better then any Zelda game ever made. And he is a big Zelda fan. Seriously look it up.
Really if any game inspired it I would have to say it was without a doubt Landstalker on the Genesis. Alundra was definitely the better of the 2 but they were both great games for their respective times.
Personal additions: Incredible Crisis, Bust-A-Groove, Tail Concerto, Trap Gunner!, Castlevania Chronicles, Rising Zan, Covert Ops: Nuclear Dawn, and Blaster Master: Blasting Again. I dunno if you'll ever do a third one of these, but man, there's dozens more titles...
I played Swagman when it first came out and thought it was great. I didn't know anyone else who heard of it or played it back then. I was happy to see it in your hidden gem video!
nice reggie! when i first saw RE2 i played it for 8 hours strait! as soon as i get back to my house i pawned my N64 with like 5 games and 3 controller for a PS1 1 controller and re2.... loved mario 64 and diddy kong racing but RE2 man that was a experience ill never forget
Swagman is the game that has escaped my knowledge since I last played it over a decade ago, finally found it out from a thread I found, so happy I'll finally get to finish it
Some really cool games there I never heard of, one thing I loved about the ps1 era was pre rendered backgrounds in games, it's such a shame so few games use them now
Great video. There's so many great games on the PS1. I just keep finding out about more and more. I just recently bought Klonoa: Door To Phantomile. I hope you make more hidden gems videos for the PS1 and PS2.
You'd never think.. But one of the BEST and truly hidden gems on the PS1 is THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE. I know what you're thinking, but hear me out. Not only does it have movie clips straight from the original Disney movie and all original voice actors, it's an AMAZING 3D platformer that has years of replay value. I've gone through this game at least 10 times over the years. surprisingly you get to play as Kuzco in Llama form as well as turtle and bunny forms for humorous levels that very in style. This game will NOT get bland as they switch up scenery, game play styles, and objectives eveey level throughout Kusco's entire venture back to the palace! This game really left nothing out! I urge everyone that likes an amazing platformer to pick it up! Best $5 you'll ever spend
I really miss working designs they brought so many amazing games to the west and had such a passion for them that they weren't content with just releasing a disk they went out of their way to include all kinds of extras. I'll never forget getting Lunar 2, i still have the standups, the ghaleon puppet, and the pendent that came with it.
Have to congratulate you for having Colony Wars in there. It's really the only game that up to that point reminded me of the Wing Commander series. I always played it with the PlayStation Analog Joystick (SCPH-1110) which for anyone who doesn't know was that twin stick controller Sony released before they released the Dual Analog Controller (SCPH-1180) and the Dual Shock.
+Here comes a new challenger! Doesn't it have Jackie Chan as the main voice actor? Because it sounds exactly like him and it is great. It's your typical Jackie Chan movie plot and you gotta save uncle!

Woo! Front Mission 3! My brother gave me that game a few months back. I haven't had a chance to play it in-depth yet, but from what little I have played, it is REALLY fun.
If you ever do a part 3, you've got to include bugs bunny lost in time and it's sequel bugs bunny and taz time buster. These are two really underappreciated games, especially the sequel.
Kinda disappointed to see that Tomba! (or Tombi! to my PAL region brethren) didn't get a mention. Criminally underrated Metroidvania-style platformer with a very twisted sense of humor made by legendary Japanese producer Tokuro Fujiwara.
***** what do you mean, is it not hidden or is it not gem? Both is wrong. It's unknown to most of gamers. And about "gem"... Tomba 1, 2 are some of the best games I ever played. Also need to include Kula world (Roll away) and Vib ribbon.

So, you admit it so. Thanks.
+ayoutubeuser i almost never see tombi mentioned but i see klonoa mentioned on every hidden gem video, not that the majority of gamers really know either its only people like us who know of them because we play old games and watch these videos
I had all three of the Colony War games. They are superb. I also forgot about the Bruce Willis game until you showed it on the previous video. Again, awesome. I have to get my PS2 from my parents and set it up. Thank God for backwards compatibility. Also. I played Point Blank for ever:)
I was going to mention Fear Effect 1&2 in the comments of Part 1, but I see that they made the list here. Amazing games. One of the games I loved the most that I never see or hear talked about is Broken Helix, an action game with radically different endings with Bruce Campbell voicing the main character.
I love watching older videos of these wonderful retro youtubers also great outro who knew that last game was a hidden gem you tried to pull it back but it was to late and I love it. Cool video. ^_^
Loved Fear Effect 2, will get round to playing the first one some day, luckily FE2 is a prequel. Would be cool if Reggie did have a channel, the PS1 had a big part in getting me back into gaming after a 10 or so year hiatus.
My faves for ps1: ogre tactics, vandal hearts, syndicate wars, warhammer, resident evil, battle arena toshinden, space hulk, robo pit, tomb raider and final fantasy 7.
I've had wild 9 in my mind for the longest time now but I couldn't remember the title thank you, you just pplaced the last piece of the puzzle that is my childhood
I must say, I enjoy your videos quite a bit. They are a nice treat, and I greatly appreciate all the work you put into them. Keep it up. I'm always looking forward to the next one. *thumbs up*
Reggie's collection is pretty damn impressive... He's got a lot of great games, not only for the PS1, but also the PS2...PSP...and more.

Reggie seems strangely placid/relaxed here. Maybe that leaf on Marios hat on his t-shirt is telling us something!
You're a low IQ turd. Reggie is obviously nervous as hell.
Pretty sure I got banned because I asked Reggie if he still had “that Mario shirt” on a live stream he did
@@ivanvargas2425 lol nothing wrong with being a stoner

So good watching these from 7 years ago eh. Still great videos that hold up to this day - I like how wholesome it feels. YAAAH
These Hidden Gem and Must Have videos are a huge help. Thank you for making them.
I've watched this video a first time and just realized that Mario is stoned on Reggie's shirt. Nice.
A few times....
