This Achievement in The Evil Within 2 is TRULY Terrifying

- After taking on the hardest achievement in The Evil Within 1, its time to do the same with The Evil Within 2. Will it be easier like most people say, or will the semi permadeath destroy my mental fortitude. Knowing me, probably the latter.

This Evil Within 2 playthrough was pretty brutal towards the end, especially without a guide, but what really matters is that I had fun :) - เกม

Absolutely adore the evil within franchise, I can only hope we get a third one. Being able to get the hardest achievement for both games for me at least was truly phenomenal.
Tango have made one or two hints towards continuing it so there's hope at least.
I find it hilarious how people can enjoy David Cage’s work unironically. More power to you and seeing AdumPlaze play these was phenomenal in how bad the game is makes me respect this achievement even more.
I still haven't played the 2nd one yet...whenever I tried on my Xbox one it froze and just stopped so I gave up but now with my series x I may try again

Had no idea this achievement existed. Essentially takes the hardest difficulty in Dead Space but in a longer game WITHOUT upgrades. Idk how you did it Snam. Those deaths would’ve been soul draining for me lol

Dead Space doesn't let you save at all, right? 7 saves are actually quite lenient.
I saved once before the Guardian Town Hall fight, once before Stefano, once before the insignia thing (since the cabin defense comes immediately after), once before the firewalk, once immediately after, once before the boss gauntlet, once before the final boss.
Imo the cabin defense and firewalk are super brutal, so if you are good at the boss gauntlet, you can use that save immediately after the cabin fight.
Imo, the worst stretch was the beginning because of cutscenes and stuff wasting time if you accidentally died, but otherwise, the game is rather nice to you since everything can be stealth-killed aside from Guardians, bosses and the dogs, meaning if you don't trigger ambush encounters, you can do a lot by just being cautious.
AKUMU imo is way worse since it's so easy to get hit accidentally.

@@LckD008you remember that correctly, 3 saves for 12 chapters. But they are referring to the remake of DS1 I think which indeed has no save but people found a work around to be able to play it with saves they outsource to the PS plus save cloud. I've no PS plus on my acc tho and won't be able to use that so I'm not touching remake DS1 just yet tho, my butt is still recovering from the clenching I did during the eye scene in DS2 lmao

i literally just stopped playing a First Person AKUMU run 5 minutes ago... i started it about an hour ago... i kinda wanna do a Classic Mode run in first person, but after seeing your post, i think i'm going to do a First/AKUMU stream...

For the firewalk just a tip - they have next to no health and spawn one in front, then behind, then repeat. Two pistol headshots kill them and your companion gives you ammo

Pro tip about the Obscura fight. If you don't want to waste ammo, use the smoke bolts and blast her with them. It stuns her, and make it so she can't see you at all, not only that, she won't move until the smoke clears. So if you keep hitting her with smoke, she won't pause the timer. ;) Note this method is not as viable on Classic due to not being able to upgrade your arsenal. But it is still effective at stopping her from flashing the Stable Field Emitter.
You can literally just repeatedly stab her. If she goes up on the ceiling you shoot her down and carry on stabbing. This game is not difficult at all lol.
Or just melee her repeatedly so she can't run away or get on the ceiling, not that it's hard to shoot her down again and carry on with melee. She can't get anywhere near the timer if she's stun locked.
these videos are such a treat. genuinely makes my day when we get one. your positive attitude coupled with your.... propensity for self-torture really is just a ton of fun. great watch as always, and by god are you not a skilled gamer for completing this challenge with your mind mostly intact

I've been saving this video for a rainy day like fine china or insert other metaphor here, and oh my god it's so good. You're really fun to watch suffer, and pulling off this achievement is just generally insanely impressive!!! The patience required for this... I'm sad I couldn't catch the streams live, but with TEW2 being one of my favourite games ever in existence, seeing people play it makes me super happy. Also holy shit I'm now more intimidated about going for this achievement (second-last before platinum for me) than I was before lmao.

I remember when I did this mode and my game decided to be funny on PS4 and crash quite a few times (thankfully it was maybe a few moments after a save)...
Oh and Stefano's fight on this mode made me almost go insane...
Same! I couldn’t handle having to face Stefano over and over. I had used the second save for just before Stefano’s boss fight. It’s just too much 😭

Something i realized while playing evil within 2 is even if you dont have the eye to show you if a enemy sees you or not when playing nightmare or classic mode is still gonna be possible to know if the see you because if a enemy is looking for you the healthbar and stamina bar will appear meaning youll know if a enemy almost saw you or not or if youre in their view
After beating Stefano boss fight only to end up getting killed over and over by magma enemies in the next chapter, I finally gave up trying to complete classic mode. I couldn’t. It’s just too much stress 😭😭

Dude, hearing Flight of The Pigeon music from Battlefield 3 in the background in the first few minutes of this video hit me in the feels. That piece of music lays close to my heart and the atmosphere in BF3 when that hits stays with me too.
Pretty sure we had classic/akumu mode growing up playing the old snes/sega games. 3 lives, no saving. "pause"was your best friend.

I speedrun resident evil games for fun but classic was pretty easy, akuma really tested my patience.
Tbh I like Akumu more because I can keep trying a part I’m stuck via checkpoint instead of taking 2 hours to walk back to what killed me haha
@Snamwiches While that is true I'd rather just be able to take a hit than save more. Guess it just comes down to preference.
Deffo agreed. Dying in one hit imo is way harder than having limited saves. I died probably double-digits max in TEW2 for the achievement, while I easily got into triple-digits for the other one, and even had to take breaks.

It was pretty awful, even after having run through the game three times in a short time previously, and literally following a video walkthrough. I actually died to the last boss and had to repeat the last two chapters (last save was after the multi-Evil Within bosses, because screw doing that again).

As a trophy hunter i got both plats and the dlc trophies , i say Ew2 clasic was harder for me....because of how much stuff you had to do after you die ,stealth kills enemies/explore/loot same areas with minimal use of resources. Ew1 was more straight forward,yet still annoying.
I 100% agree. Akumu was really fun, dying in Classic was heartbreaking

Thankful to be one of the ones to beat Evil Within 1 PS3 version on Akumu. It was legit hell man. I can't imagine this game on Classic or Akumu though, a way more difficult accomplishment.
Watching you complete Classic mode got me as excited as cleaning my house while listening to Hi Fi Rush's OST. Now a mod that mixes Classic with Akumu (?
