Outlast in the hardest difficulty, crippling yourself from a vital game mechanic and all while trying to keep the video monetized... I love your determination. It's admirable.
Fun fact about the night vision camera. Even if you use up all the battery, you can still continue to use night vision mode, it's just that the range for how far ahead in the dark you can see is less than if you had battery. I played through the entire game without reloading once and could still navigate the dark areas with relative ease.
Do you have the brightness turned way up? Because this was NOT the case for me. Yeah the night vision still worked in a sense - but the range was so pathetic that it was almost as bad as not having it at all. So it ended up being preferable to just memorise the map in certain areas where I knew I wouldn't need the night vision and then run through it blind, rather than risk running out and be running from an enemy not able to see more than an inch in front of my face. I also learned to "flash" the night vision on and off, memorise what the area looked like and where the enemies were, and then progress from there - instead of leaving it on for long periods. Valuable skill for this game.
similarly in outlast 2 if you have your device on full brightness you can navigate easily through the jungle and 50 percent of game without night vision
Cornball, there's a million kids in their mothers basement doing the same thing right now. Man your name better be jenny cause no "man" is going to thank a doppelganging "achievement/trophy hunter". Go thank the first. TH-camrs that actually came up with it, instead of the 100th person to do it. (Hmm I wanna be a youtuber cause I have no talent, what should I do? Reacting videos? Lip singing on tiktok? Let's play? Top 10? Oh I'll go with trophy hunter since I've never won a *real 🏆 in life)
An Outlast permadeath on insane mode with no batteries or nightvision, all on your second playthrough. Well done, Snam. I also feel like permadeath is just becoming a requirement for your runs now lol
In the context of the game the protagonist went to Mount Massive to document what was happening but in this challenge the game becomes about a guy that decides to go take a walk around a asylum for no apparent reason
This is one of the few achievements you've done on this channel that I actually have XD I actually combined it with Clautstophobe, for whatever reason. I had to retry a few times but overall it wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. The AI is actually very much scripted and easy to manipulate. Enemies follow a set patrol route until something draws them away from it, and while doing some kind of animation, like opening a door or jumping over an obstacle, they won't acknowledge you. So at 8:50, the moment you land in the room, you can just bolt and Chris won't start chasing you until he's done with his little entry animation, by which point you can easily outrun him to the end. There's another point where you can just run right past an enemy while he's breaking a door down, which is a scripted thing he does. You can literally hump him and he won't do anything until he's finished with that door, so if you just run past you can get far enough away that he won't even hear you anymore. There are also a few blindspots some enemies have, where it seems like they SHOULD be able to see you but absolutely can't for whatever reason. Flashing the night vision just to make sure you don't bump into anything or miss a turn doesn't consume that much battery, and as you said, enemies don't run any faster than you so as long as you just don't stop, you're good, and there are few places where you HAVE to stop when being chased. The only parts I really struggled with were the last bit in the sewer section (large room full of water with Chris comin' at you) because you don't really have anything to use as a reference, and the outside section. I pretty much used night vision the most in those two sections as a result.
@@assassinforyou If I'm remembering the chapters right then I think I know where that is - the part where Snam got beat by a coffee table, right? I got got there, too. My strat was to wait by the door, then as he approached run insde and out the other door, circling around him. I just didn't account for the fact that he could simply go back out the door and meet me in the hallway. On my next attempt I used the far door instead and it worked better.
The one thing that shines through on every single video and stream is Sam's positivity. Doesn't matter if it's a death on the final hurdle of an insane run, he enjoys what he's doing and always takes the positives from every situation. And that makes for a much better viewing experience for viewers and far better compilation videos like this where we get to see the final result. Keep up the great content!

this guy kept a smile in a demon game where your character is going insane while he was doing the achievements and also at the oricess was going insane as well props
One awesome gimmick is that when Walker goes to smash doors (or any NPC) you can just stand right on the door and hold sprint. Once the door falls the NPC will have a recovery animation while you fly right past him. You can also bait them on vaultable objects as that locks them in animations as well. (they jump towards over to you, at the same time you hop over to them). This allows you to be a run and gunning menace in this game
i love that you stay positive, so many creators would get really angry and have extreme reactions for content when loosing a run. So seeing you be disappointment but stay positive is really a breath of fresh air

Some funny quips for sure in this video. I've never played the game but ive heard of it and about it of course. The joke about the inmates cracks caught me off guard but i chuckled all the same. It's really hard especially since you also took the time to read chat & talk Edit: also also: omg I couldn't imagine doing energizer on.insane. maybe I'd try on normal (if the achievement was on steam) but holy moly it was already stressful with changing 2 batteries all the time. Btw for those who are interested I did the Pulitzer achievement during my insane run (which was also my second run of the game itself but I've seen a few videos before on the route) with the help of a guide so I don't forget one & it took me 2 tries. The first time my laptop restarted and did an update, the only reason I finished on my (technically) first run is because I am a p^ssy who hides and sneaks around the whole time and I memorized the route tho it was very close sometimes

2:56 that’s a bit right? i’ve legit never seen an adult lose to a fool’s mate in a real game.
After wathcing some of your videos, how could one smile so much on these nearly impossible achievement runds :D
I finished the Pulitzer and lunatic achievement today. Probs to you! It's really hard especially since you also took the time to read chat & talk
Edit: also also: omg I couldn't imagine doing energizer on.insane. maybe I'd try on normal (if the achievement was on steam) but holy moly it was already stressful with changing 2 batteries all the time.
I like when the guy screamed the same note at the same time the pinch harmonic went off in Mute City near the end there
Ayo Snammy! Another great vid, knocked it out the park 🔥 Would love to see you give Pathologic 2 a shot, just making it past the second day is quite the challenge itself 👀
Never looked into the game before but I’ll check it out!
Snam i know u jokin but u aint a failure bro. Much love, thanks for the funny awesome videos
Richard and Johnson is wild😂
