    Thanks for Making Used/Vintage Cameras Great Again. Not a Canon user but did own an FTB long time ago. I was watching a video from Finland about their used camera facility. Wow, thousands of old and not so old cameras. Soon the cameras we used today will be in a Used Camera facility. How time flies. Getting a used camera like what you mention is a great way for a youngster get started in photography.

    Pretty decent photos, well composed, well-lit and posed. I have the 6D MKII and have used it for events, models, portraits, etc. I've never used it for weddings because I always used a 5D MKII and two 7D's for weddings. (Plus, I stopped shooting weddings several years ago.) I had them before I got the 6D MKII, but the images, like yours, from the events and other things I've shot with the 6D MKII have excellent color, definition, etc. I typically use 3 lenses for my events and models or graduating seniors: the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 ISIII, Canon EF 24-70 2.8 L, and the Canon 24-105 f/4 L lens. I always have a wide angle and 50mm with me. which I use if necessary. I agree with you totally about the 6D being a workhorse. I have several mirrorless cameras but still often use the 5D MKII and the 6D MKII when I shoot models. I'm used to them, and they work well. I can't bring myself to sell or trade them in, I like them too much. When I finally quit being a photographer, I'll put them on a shelf in my house to remind me of when I was a photographer.

    I got a 6D plus a 50mm 1.8 STM, a shoulder bag, third party batteries, charger, battery grip and other small things, all for $100usd.
    But the camera have missing rubber parts, missing ports covers, missing the dial letters, spongy loose rubber dial wheel, have scratches all over the body, looks like an post apocalyptic war camera 😂. It have more than 120.000 shutter actuations, but the sensor is in perfect condition, the shutter mechanism work flawlessly, flash shoe works, everything works ok and that surprised me. Screens have scratches but it's usable. It works.
    Now I want to perform a restoration. I'll buy the port covers, the dial wheel, the missing parts, the rubber part that covers the body. It's cheaper than i thought!! From amazon or from china you have all the rubber or plastic spare parts and there are tutorials in youtube to replace it all.

    The 6D was my first DSLR camera and I will always have fond memories of my time with it. Little did i know when I got it that I would be drawn to wildlife photography. While that 11 point AF was good for portraits and similar, it only had one really good AF point at the center. I quickly moved to the 70D, then the 7Dm2, then the 80D, 90D, 5Dm4, 5DSR, then the R5, R7, R5m2, and the R3. And I rented other ones like the 1DX2 and 1DX3, R6, too. So the 6D definitely set me on a path with Canon cameras and lenses. But I cannot go back, and I still think Canon has good colors. I parted with my 6D when the R5 hit the market.

    I've used the Nikon Df and Canon 1DX, and the 6D's low-light ability is so close to both as to make no difference; a 6D's also half the price of a Df and about half the weight of a 1DX. Shutter durability can be remarkable: another photographer had two 6ds, one with 600,000 on the clock, and the other over a million. Super camera & yes, very underrated. Cheers! 👍

GOAT cameras. There's others too for notable firsts like the digital rebel, the 1Ds first full frame, first CMOS sensor in the D30, sony A7 first full frame mirrorless, and so on, but they're not quite the same workhorses and super crazy popular and common.

The 6D and the 24-105 made a very competent combo for photography. No better DSLR for the price. Big though! I like to take them everywhere. Yes the 5D3 had the AF, and Canon weren’t about to jeopardise its status, and yes, dynamic range couldn’t compete with what was out there. But, for astro shooting the 6D was king, championed by the late great Alyn Wallace. I have the R6, again overshadowed by the R5 ( history repeating ) but I think will be in the same position in 10 years. It had the same sensor and AF as the 1Dx2, the pinnacle of the Canon range at the time.

    • @mmiYTB
      @mmiYTB 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It was/is a decently priced camera in second hand for the entry into FF for cropped Canon shooters. There is only one useful AF point, but at least it is accurate, unlike on the squint 5D and 5D2 and all the non-1D Canons until the 60D market entry. The sensor was probably the best of the "old" sensor type, being better than what was in 5D3, 6D2 and RP.
      I now have R6-2 as the primary camera, but have 6D as a "second camera" or a backup camera or "camera to use when I don't want to risk the R6" 🙂and the interchangeable batteries and chargers are a huge bonus.
