I bought mine simply because my 5DS R isn't great in low light, I do wish my 6D had a few more pixels on the sensor, but! what it does do is do everything exceptionaly well. Produces amazing images in low light and very, very rated as an astrocamera. Fantastic camera, a keeper.

Amazing photos, congratulations! A great film that moves you. Watching photos from the new R Canon, something is missing... At the time of purchase it had 4000 photos, so it's brand new anyway looks :) It was a conscious choice :) Greetings from Poland🙂
VERY well done my friend! I just recently picked up a 6D and made a video with my thoughts and experience... and you and I are on very much the same wavelength. I Use an R6 Mark II for video, but for stills? 6D all day every day. And when this thing finally dies, you better be damn sure I'm getting another one. You've earned a sub!
Coming from Fuji APSC (older models XT-1 and XT-20) which I will keep as long as they work, I have to say since getting a 5D Classic and Canon 6D Mk1, their FF image quality is stellar - they produce exquisite photos using affordable Canon glass.
well worth putting a 6D screen protector if you can still find them. Almost cuts all the gloss glare from the back plastic screen and makes working outside much nicer. Also plays nice with Magic lantern and you can have your screen send you back false colour or other options to judge exposure etc at a glance. Its often overlooked also that you can still operate this camera with your phone via the canon app and put it in awkward places. Battery lasts for many days shooting - no idea how long - feels like i charge it once a month and use it daily.
Loved the video! I got my EOS 6d when it was new, it was a spectacular update at the time and I have since fallen out of photography and just recently came back to my 6d and it performs surprisingly well given it's age. I'm saving up for a mirrorless (probably the R6 Mk 2) at the moment but I will use my 6d to it's full potential until then.
If you are opting for a cheap but reliable set for beginners look also into Nikon D610, full frame with much more versatility and cheaper lenses. Offers 2 slots and much better Auto Focus. I own a 6D and did many weddings with it, the lack of cross type auto focus points and 1 SD card slot are a huge problem.
Gotta agree, after shooting for two years with R5. Sadly life happened, had to sell it, bought 6D, paired it with 35L II. Enjoying every shot I take, while R5 was and is a great camera, but 6D is so simple and fun to use in comparison.
Bought the old tank for 190 dollars. It was seen as a slight step down, because I had the 70D, but I needed full frame. I needed to believe the reviews I’ve seen. I can now confidently say, I believe.
I begin in sldr world in 2009 with a new canon 5d + 24-105 F4 L IS. I bought this camera new. In 2019 i bought a 6d in perfect state for 1/4 part of the price of the 5d. I continue now with this camera + 24-105 F4 L IS + 50mm f1.8 stm. Perfect results.
They say you date the body and marry the lens, but, I just can't see myself with a 6D. If, or when, my current 6D dies I'll replace it with a 6D. You, and others, might want to have a look at Martin Castein's video "6D what sets it apart". btw: Great first vid and banger photos.

Also I would like to point out that the colors are scream worthy, my new R6markII can only dream of having such color and image quality. IN ALL HONESTY IF IT ONLYYYYY HAD ONE MORE SLOT and 1 MORE Cross type AF point I would never have changed this camera.
I had an R8, and whilst it is an amazing camera, i felt i just didn’t use 90% of its capabilities. The AF was fantatic, tracking etc. Video specs i just never used, once. I think the camera was just too much for me , personally. I got some great shots but putting it on single point centre AF and recomposing, as i have always done got me thinking i just didn’t need it for my style of photography! Maybe if you’re a working pro then it makes everything easier and the flow, faster. I did however, keep my 6D; the files still look great!
Great video! And from one 25 year old "old scrooge" myself, signifies why I myself don't need shinier and better cameras. I bought an R6 and found myself selling it back to the retailer I bought it from with the justification that what I had was good enough for my type of photography. I don't shoot sports. Rarely shoot portraits. And realised that I had all these extra features for about $3400? Compared to $400 AUD for the 6D or $300 for my 70D. It's a massive difference in price, and one that I didn't think was worth it. Compared to a better lens.
Don't laugh, I already have two of these monsters,. I love them, I know, we're not supposed to show affection to objects but, I make an exception here, certain things are my companions, my musical instruments, my recording gear, and my cameras lol (shu, don't tell anyone, I also have two Powershot cameras Sx40, SX60)
I don't know why I watched this video. I already own two 6D bodies and was briefly thinking about getting a third one today. Carrying two 6D's is perfectly fine. One wide and one standard or tele. But who could carry three? I have left the 6D behind, I think, three times already. First, there was an RP. Sold. Then another RP and R. Also sold. This year, I got a bunch of Olympus gear, which is very good and does so many more things than the 6D. But how come my last two lens purchases were EF lenses? The 6D seems to not only push its way into every assignment, but I check the CR2 files first after importing all the SD cards. The 6D works it way into my hands at almost every opportunity, even though I have very capable MILCs with great lenses. It must be a relationship thing. I just cannot let go! One glance through the OVF, and I am hooked again.
Are you thinking about getting this camera?
Absolutely.😍

They say you date the body and marry the lens, but, I just can't see myself with a 6D. If, or when, my current 6D dies I'll replace it with a 6D. You, and others, might want to have a look at Martin Castein's video "6D what sets it apart". btw: Great first vid and banger photos.
Thanks, I have seen the video and I definitely recommend it!!
If you are looking for Canon specifically 5D mark III might be a great choice. But be aware that Canon is like iPhone of the photography world.
Also I would like to point out that the colors are scream worthy, my new R6markII can only dream of having such color and image quality. IN ALL HONESTY IF IT ONLYYYYY HAD ONE MORE SLOT and 1 MORE Cross type AF point I would never have changed this camera.
You really gotta try a 5D classic next. I'd also be curious what you think of the 6D to the 6D mk2 as I just picked one up recently.
@@codyallen3729 I’m want to get the 5d classic at one point. Once this channel is making some money I’ll pick one up!!
@ no doubt loved the video and subscribed!
I have to say, when I moved over to the 6Dii the images just didn’t hit the same. Something special about the original 6D sensor.
I'm sticking to DSLR's as long as I can. I just purchased a 6DMKII. Canon should continue to make a few if not two crop and a full sensor DSLR.
I saw this and went out and found one. Best camera I've used. Built like a tank, and cheap enough so I don't have to be precious about it.
I'd love to find this camera and lens at a price I can handle. Definitely something I'm keeping in mind.
The used market is really good so keep looking and you’ll find something.
@@1903Optics Thank you for the encouragement, I will.
Don't laugh, I already have two of these monsters,. I love them, I know, we're not supposed to show affection to objects but, I make an exception here, certain things are my companions, my musical instruments, my recording gear, and my cameras lol
(shu, don't tell anyone, I also have two Powershot cameras Sx40, SX60)
Amazing video
Thank you
Im from Việt Nam,i love the soud of dslr..i got the 5d3,but i think its not too many different between them!good video..thanks
I enjoy my 6D as well as my 5D3, quite the combination. I don’t need mirrorless anytime soon!
I’d love to try a 5d3
Just bought this camera used for 400€ to start astrophotography and i love it
Nice, what lens is used for Astro stuff.
Brilliant , I only use 6Ds and a 7D there plenty good enough
Thinking about 5d mark iii
Me too! I’ve heard good things about it.
What lens did you use!? Plz make another video about the 6D.
50mm 1.8 and 24-105 f4
I'm watching this video because my photos have been bad lately and I was hoping to blame my tools. Damn.
😂😂 this is the most honest comment I have seen on YT.
What is it specifically that you don’t like about you photos. Maybe I can help.
I am getting a 6D soon for Astro Photography as it is t he Dogs Astro Camera loads of my Astro Photographer friends use one.
