    Yes can be used in the effects loop.
    You can use 4 cable method and thus use your Amps distortion in the effects chain OR just access the power part of your amp by using the effects return of your amp.
    This is the way I use mine. I hardly use any amp sims (apart from jc120 and natural clean) I get my tone from the onboard OD/distortion pedals.
    I have achieved the best time I've got in 20 years using it this way. I use chorus flange and noise suppressors of course but almost no amp sims or speakers sims.
    I have just added in my satchurator (into the effects loop of the boss gt100) - as I don't like my amps distortion (Marshall valvetste 8080) so I now have my favourite analogue distortion available in the effects chain as well !!
    Best if both worlds!! Digital and analogue

    People you gotta understand he's playing a strat,everyone is into a different genre that requires a different type of guitar so if you don't like the sounds the pedal is making its a lot to do with the guitar as well as the pedal

    To each their own, I prefer the sounds of Line6 POD HD500 to this too. But, this guy can plug his guitar into an altoids 'amp' and shred the shit out of it and anyone would pay top dollar for that damn thing lmao.
    I'd love to hear Mr. Marcello demo a HD500 someday!
    And, I think for modern metal I think most people are using Engl amps (if they can afford them) or Peavey nowadays!

    Hello! Will this work if I plug it directly into speakers or 4x12 cabinet or do I need to plug into a power amp for sound?

    what about the patch change?i bought a pod hd 300 and when im changing patches theres a certain gap in between,,,does this unit fixed this issue in multi-fx units?

  • @jfoquendo
    @jfoquendo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is this the unit straight from the Left output into the guitar in on the amp or is that running through an effects loop ?

  • @arthurtjhin701
    @arthurtjhin701 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Matt Kenyon : You should use cabinet simulator like A/DA GCS-2 after GT-100 and PA system. If not, sound is so so so bad...

    So, if what is important is the amp tone, why bother with a GT-100, or even a GT-1000?

    can you tell me if the gt 100 sounds any good through powered pa speakers as I tried one out through passive speakers and no it wasn't happening.

    I can't make the CTL pedal work with amp switiching, neither with patches. In the amp the channel switches, but soundwise there's no change (amp is still in clean mode, regardless of the light indicating the distortion channel). Any thoughts? I have a blackstar ht 50 using the 4 cable method

    • @bubble0doom
      @bubble0doom 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jonathan Luisi Let me know if you ever figured that out. I'm in the midst of going to for a similar setup, but I haven't bought the gear. From what I figure, if you want to do that, you need a 5th cable going from the controller out on gt100 to amps footswitch.

    • @IndigoProd
      @IndigoProd 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply! I was able to solve it, the "issue" was on the "send/return" in the gt100 chain. Of course the 5th cable was in there. Let me know if I can help you with the setup, I understand a little bit more of the pedalboard nowadays. Best thing you can do is go for the 4CM , especially if you want to use your amps' distortion, which for me is the only way to go (valves can't be beaten by digital emulation)

    • @bubble0doom
      @bubble0doom 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will for sure be in touch! I'll be getting a Blackstar HT 20 and the boss GT 100; I wouldn't bother getting a tube amp if I couldn't use its drive. I will probably give you a message closer to the new year.
      Cheers!

    Fajnie się ogląda i słucha, ale w rzeczywistości już jest inaczej. Plus to, że ładnie wygląda i prosty w obudzę.Dużo fajnych pomyślanych ustawień tylko dźwięk taki sobie, brak programu do edycji barw. Na razie mój faworyt w tej klasie to POD XT LIVE który bije o głowę nowe modele POD 500 i POD 500 x . Powiem tak - jak przedestylujemy wodę będzie czysta, ale bez smaku.

    I am trying hard to hear what others hear but i don't. It sounds just ok, but not ok enough for a boss flagship...Don't know, maybe i am just old....

    can this unit be used in the fx loop of an amp..? and can the preamp be disabled i.e... use it as chorus delay reverb time based fx only...

  • @merlinscastle666
    @merlinscastle666 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Honestly, a great player but the BOSS amp simulators are way overhyped, not much comes close to a real amplifier. You have a couple of 100 patches or different sounds but only few is working for real recording. Nothing still beats Marshalls and Peavey amps. but this is what the new generation uses right??? a Simple POD 2 is in my experienience better, with the right settings, of course. A strat single coil + BOSS amp simulators can never get enough sustain or distortion...
