Do you like topwater frog fishing?
The amount of boat traffic yesterday afternoon was crazy. I know they will get used to it eventually this summer, but it has to sound like sitting in the middle of the Indy 500 right now out there. The bite was still good though. Love fishing a frog! Makes me want to go right to the Mississippi River!
It is getting crazy out there! I'm always worried about all the big boats that zoom by me in my little plastic boat. Honestly, I wish they would stay on pad because that disturbs less water and doesn't send me on a roller coaster ride. Pontoons are the worst though, lol!
I always have at least 2 frog rods on the deck in the summer. Black and white are all I ever need. The best way to catch bass!
Frogs are great in summer!
A walking topwater (white/bone) is my usual go-to for early summer. Going to take a frog tomorrow morning and give it a shot. 👍🇺🇸
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching!
A frog and a popper are what I mostly use for topwater. Maybe I should just combine them and use a popping frog.
A popping frog gets it done!
Not really good at it, but almost always have one tied on! Thanks for some good information! Keep being awesome buddy!
I'm sure you'll get plenty of blowups on a frog this summer!
I don't ever use a frog too much since a ned rig has always worked for me. Awesome video!
Use what you have confidence in!
I have been using a soft body mouse lure with success myself
I have a couple of those but I haven't really used them much. I need to break them out.
@LowBrowFishing I love them in the rivers nearby for smallmouth, but largemouth hammer them as well
We used have frogs that looked like real frogs with the kicking legs and everything. I used them a couple times and never got nothing.
I still have a few of those!
Great video! I always just use a frog around lily pads and grass. Gonna try these tips!
Try them anywhere!
I usually use a pop r from the bank but there are spots I'd like to have a frog for. Can you use a frog on spinning gear?
You can absolutely use spinning gear, especially if you're not working thick vegetation.
ALWAYS 🎣
Awesome!
Low Brow, why are you showing us how to use a frog, and then saying this is not the area to use it ? and why go back to the Vega frog, when most peope who have fished frogs know, the Vega frog has a poor hookup ratio, 6th Sense needs to angle the hooks up more for a better hookup ratio.
Where did I say not to use a frog? I was trying to make the point that frogs can be used in far more areas than anglers think. Was it because I said I prefer different frogs types in different situations? And yes, I have since modified the hooks on the Vega frog. I went back to it merely to demonstrate how I use a popping frog, regardless of the brand. Fish Lab makes my favorite popping frog but I didn't have those with me on the little boat that day.
