Brands all work depending on the fish and what you do to make sink rate faster or slower and size

TBH never had much luck with stick baits down here in north FL. I'm usually going for a craw bite, or a uvibe speed worm, or free rigging a creature bait.

I haven't tried every knock offs but i think the senko is the best! It has a better shimmy and sinks at a better rate its softer, slightly heavier and more salt. Never had much luck with the knock offs just saying...

I never tried them because of the price. I'm sure they are great but I can buy a 30 pk of Yum dingers for almost the same price.

I appreciate your courage and honesty. I catch fish on them but, I think you make a good point… I’m not sure they are the best. I am depleting my current inventory and will try alternatives. Throwing weightless Texas rigged, I catch as many or more on Berkley Generals. Throwing wacky rigged, I catch more on the Yamamoto Senkos. My problem with Senkos is the fact that it’s usually one fish per worm, and at the price point, it’s crazy. I will say that I get multiple fish when wacky rigging with the VMC Crossover rings. I’ve started using the Yum Dingers but haven’t fished them enough to compare catch rate.

I worked at a tackle shop for a year. We closed. I got to take a lot of stuff. I took every senko I could get. I don't use em, but they're excellent trade bait. Most anglers love them. I prefer the Zero from SK.

I used to use senkos. I switched to the berkley generals and the zman . But i find the zman stick bait falls to slow

Yeah I boil the frogs in water to soften the bodies up. I've lost so many on frogs I quit using them. Maybe I'll give it another go since I watched this video. Good stuff brother!

I’ve caught a fish on every senko I’ve thrown. Yup, “A” fish. The bait stayed in the water each time. My first pack was my last pack. They’re too expensive to go so fast.

They, of all the senkos, they catch a fish when nothing else will. But they cost about 50% too much. Wacky rig to load the boat

If I can get Yamamotos on the cheap I’ll buy em. Otherwise it’s a hard pass at $8/bag.

Very good approach to fishing a worm, one of the best ways to catch 'em. Congrats on a nice variation on an old theme.

Senkos used to be my go to stick baits til I discovered the Bass Pro magnum stick-os and I switched and never looked back..more durable and cheaper plus the fall rate is better. Great content keep up the excellent content!

The 297 is bass juice. But I catch them even on Zman stick bait

Man, you’re just cheap. And that’s your right. But the idea that Senkos aren’t effective is just nonsense. All the other stickbaits on the market are just derivatives of the Senko. One of the things I find disturbing about the fishing culture right now is an ever increasing lack of appreciation for quality, craftsmanship & innovation. People are free to buy whatever lures they want but they’re not entitled to have their facts about them. Your feelings about something are not facts. Just feelings.

Must to tell you, you are totally wrong Only one think in bright day use light color in mudy and dark water the same color but much darker. Tested and is the true 1000%

Shrink wrap for darker colors like junebug, pumpkin, black. Screw lock or a clipped piece the spring from an ink pen. Both solid hacks for extending the life of your wacky rig senkos.

Most of my catches are on worm baits , lot of them being sanko

I use BPS Stik-o and Yum Dingers. I never bought a Senko. I rather get alot more for less money!

Swimming a jerkbait fast seems so counterintuitive and opposite from what i normally hear with the theory that bass slow down and go deep to relax. Glad to hear that works as I'll be on vacation next week at a lake house. Ill be teying the mojo rig too. Thanks for all your help.

I haven't used the Gary Yamamoto Senko much, but I have a couple different colors in my tackle bag. I just catch a bunch of bass this year on Yum Dingers and Berkley MaxScent the general, so I haven't used Yamamoto Senkos that much.

They're a ripoff , they make them super soft so you have to keep buying more,Yum are much better

I wanted to make a suggestion on that walking bait that you said didn't work, try putting a split ring on the line tie it may give it more action, the new baits coming out are more expensive & with less hard ware, the new spooks are like that, the whopper plopper don't buy waste of money never have caught a fish with it or the berkley style one, once you buy baits that's money you can't get back & brother I have a small fortune in baits that don't work!👍🎣

Interesting commentary. We just moved from Idaho to Tennessee. Idaho is trout, steelhead and Salmon. Many consider a Bass 'Trash' fish. We were just like that until we started going just for Bass. We didn't know anything about them or fishing for them. A buddy said Senko's Green and it's variants. The reservoir we fished in was 12 miles long and a 1 wide. Yes, a swollen river with depths to 160 ft. We could only fish 1/2 days as the skiers and the like would run us off by 1 Pm. Fishing 2-3 times a week only in reasonable weather we 90+ percent of the time we caught 15 a piece in 4 hours. The record was 72 landed by 2 of us in a little over 4 hours. The single record was 7 fish in 7 casts in less than 7 minutes. At 5500 + feet and with the brutal winters the smallies were just that! SMALL. The biggest we ever caught was 19 3/4 inches. It was fat but we didn't even own a scale. We were catch and release. YES! you guessed we would catch 500 each give or take each season. ALL of them on the Senkos weightless with 1/0 Gamakatsu EWG's. Now I'm thinking what if we had tried others? Living on the Tennessee River has been a wake up. Much bigger fish and Largemouth. Baitcasting with an array of lures but the learning from guys like you has made it a compete hobby! You're not going to chase me off! I listen to everything you say. Love the NO BS comentary....Keep it up and your 'Tip' too :)

Every person has a right to their opinion, I personally don't have any senkos, never have bought them for one, they are expensive & the other they are too soft from what the reviews have said, most people they say they are the best is because they sponsored by them, the Yamamoto baits that I have are the hula grubs & they are soft don't hold very long, I'm big on zman, but it would be hard to use them for the Waco rig! Keep telling it like is!👍

I watch for your real deal experience. Senko is soft and expensive. And other stuff works so yes you are just calling it like you see it. Should be no heat over this. I have them and use them but I have been just as successful with the other stuff. I still believe its not so much about the bait as it is finding the active fish. Most stuff works when you find them active. Senko is what the advertisers push is the basic deal. I understand the business side and therefore have no problem with it. But agree with you. Keep up your style and presenting experience that you have.

I'm the same with chatterbaits, they just dont work for me. As far as senkos, they are too expensive, but they flat out catch fish.

For me that’s the ONLY one that I use for wacky style. You say it not a confidence thing, maybe it’s not but for me they’re money. I’ve caught more on them than anything. Texas rig the other ones work fine. A few videos ago you put the Sammy on your not a fan of list. For me…it’s the BEST. Like you said everyone has an opinion and that’s what makes this sport interesting. If it works for you stick with it. A while back Walmart had them for $2-3…. I don't think there's a fisherman alive that doesn't have certain types of lures in their bass fishing arsenal that rarely if ever catch fish. For the longest time I owned and fished with chatter baits, spinners baits and jigs that have never caught a damn thing for me, name brand and generic. After over a year and a half of fishing with my chatter baits I finally caught a bass with one. After that, for some reason I started routinely catching bass with chatter baits. Just last week I got my first hit on a spinner bait. I've been fishing with them since my mid-twenties. I'm 68 years old now and that's how long it took me to finally get a bite on a spinner bait. The Jig is the only bait I have now that I haven't caught a bass with. I've left instructions to my family to throw all my jig baits into the casket with me when they bury me if I haven't caught anything with them before I die. No sense burdening anyone else with them if they don't catch a damn thing.

I agree with Randy B about stretching out the salt baits and breaking up the salt, but I fish too fast to enjoy them.

I use almost exclusively the Kalin's Sizmic Wac-O Worm. Then the Yum Dinger at times. I like those for cost, color selections, and availability. I have 5 kids, so I have to be thrifty with my bass fishing. I get last years gear at closeouts and holiday/seasonal sales.
