What To Do When Those Bass Won't Bite ANYTHING!!!!

  • When the lakes fill up with anglers, bass fishing turns into a real grind. By this time the bass have seen every lure and presentation there is and they begin to avoid what they know isn't food. That means we get much fewer bites as those bass focus solely on real prey. But there are ways to take advantage of this behavior and actually trigger the bass into aggressive strikes! #fishing #bassfishing #fishingtips

    How do you feel about using live bait for bass fishing?

      Live minnows are awesome from the dock. I rig them on a drop shot or free swimming. I have always wondered why nobody seems to talk about live bait. I think it has to do with tournaments and lure sales...

      @@donovanjackson7241 A lot of anglers, like myself, just prefer to use artificial baits. Nothing against those who use live bait for bass fishing, but it's not something I do.

      I've never used live bait for bass before since they love lures. I did see a fishing show with Roland Martin many years ago where he used big shiners with a big red and white bobber in the Florida Everglades and caught a bunch of huge bass.

    Have you tried boiling it? It softens the plastic. I have done it to just about every frog I own. Pretty much the only brand that I don't are the Scum frogs. They are by far the softest, out of the box, ones I have used.

    It’s just my opinion from watching your videos and I think that your setting the hook just a little too fast. This frog might be getting the commitment that you normally get from other frogs you use so if you give the bass another second or two to swallow it then you might get better hook ups. Or maybe get a file and hit those hooks. Now I’m not a professional fisherman or anything I’m just an average guy that looks at things that should work but don’t I try to figure out why some solutions are simple some are just a mystery. So looking at frogs that are getting bites but keep getting off has to be one of three things. Frog is in the way so bend the hooks up, setting the hook too early and last not setting the hook hard enough using to soft a rod or the wrong kind of line for your setup making the setup too soft to really get a good hook set. I like your videos and this was just my opinion but yea it looked like you was a second or two too fast on setting the hook.

    • @LowBrowFishing
      @LowBrowFishing  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I bent the hooks out. I boiled it. I trimmed the tassles. I had fish swim off with it on multiple occasions. 20+ blowups and not one fish. I've never had a problem like that with any other frog I've ever used. And apparently, I'm not the only one. The Vega frog has a reputation for not hooking up. Wish I knew that before I bought it.
