- What’s going on fellow fans of Scream, welcome to a new episode where today we’re looking at the 12 Ghostface’s that have appeared in every single Scream movie to date and basically what I wanted to do today was assess what errors they made in their killing sprees that resulted in their defeat. So we’re basically judging serial killers and how we would have done it better.

I think we can all agree the common error all the killers made was giving into their motives / monologue s after revealing themselves and underestimate their victims will to fight back .
Yeah most of the time I think after killing so many they just don't expect much from Sydney by the end but they underestimate her want to live and usually revenge on them
Personally it's because they reveal their identities. Ghostface is supposed to be much like other slashers, undefeatable. But once you realize that he/she is just a man in a mask (albeit with some psychotic tendencies, but STILL A HUMAN BEING), there really isn't a point to be afraid or as scared as when they kept the mask. To put it in other words, once Ghostface reveals his/her identity, you know they're screwed either way.
Because of plot armor
Wouldn't be plot armor if it fits in all their characters
Only for Jill. Because she deadass was gonna win if it wasn’t for rewrites. Every other killer however was destined to lose at some point. They were all sloppy especially the 5 and 6 killers

Don’t forget even if Sidney died in part 4 Jill gave herself up to Dewey unknowingly when she said her & Gale have the same stab wound.
I think Roman Bridger and Jill Roberts were the only 2 who could've gotten away with it.
Roman made 3 mistakes:
1. He should've killed both Dewey and Gale when he had the chance.
2. He should've finished off Detective Mark Kincaid.
3. He was missing during each other attack except for the Mansion Murders like what's his alibi if he goes missing during each other murder. And even if he successfully kills Sidney what's he going to do next. He didn't have an afterplan just a in the nowplan.
Jill Roberts made 3 mistakes:
1. She talked to Dewey about her and Gale's matching stab marks. In which Gale responded "How she knew that?" Then Gale had that look and then Dewey caught on like "Shit!!!!"
2. She should've made sure that Sidney was dead and check the other victims out to make sure nobody else was dead aka a good example: "Kirby Reed".
3. The way she acted was like scripted together and not out of pure emotions.
The third one for Jill confused me, wym she acted was scripted together and not pure emotions? Are you referring to when she explained to dewey what happened at the house and mentions that she saw trevor and charlie kill sidney? Please elaborate
@@ismackshortkids Like Jill wasn't really selling her performance like the way she talked to Sidney Prescott in the kitchen, Dewey at the hospital, and etc.
Nancy's plan would've worked too if it wasn't for Cotton.
I feel like a majority of the killers leave too many survivors to explain their motives too, and not completely confirming everyone is dead
I love that you appreciated Roman and how he left no room for error. I think his gunshot with Sidney was well executed, he didn’t expect her to be so similar to himself
He also should've just shortened his sob story imo.
@@grim4879yeah but this was his one chance to get that out to the one person he could blame for it all. He was likely never gonna talk about this stuff and his mother tossed him aside so I think it was just something he needed but Sydney even told him to shut up it's funny
@@lightdarksoul2097great point, now that I think of it, it’s one of the few villain monologues that makes sense when you look at it that way.
In a reverse of that, Cop Land (1997) has the best “villain tries to monologue but the hero is deaf and ‘can’t hear (the bullshit) anymore’”

In the end, the main thing they keep doing is getting arrogant and underestimating their main targets.
I think Roman was defeated because he got too emotional. And, every Ghostface that went after Sidney clearly didn't learn from the previous movie(s), which was don't f*ck with Sidney Prescott.

Originally, Kevin Williamson wanted Jill Roberts to be that Ghostface killer that got away with it and returned for the fifth installment. Unfortunately, I believe that it was the producers that didn't like this idea.

Here's another mistake, the fact that they ever reveal themselves and try to play like they're apart of these people's friend groups or trying to interact with them
I love a of this. The Bailey family did indeed give them too much control. I did think maybe an error Roman made was not killing Gale and Dewey before Sidney got to the mansion.
Yes, those are all good reasons, BUT I think that the insistance on doing in person monologues is what really screwed all of them. Like... record a video and run away and go into hiding or something. Or in the case of the accomplice, just leave before the monologue, like I fully believe Angelina Tyler did.
They always reveal their identities and motives. That’s where everything for them begins to fall apart. Once the mask comes off and all their plans revealed it’s all down hill from there. Would like to see for once a Ghostface killer whose identity is never revealed, i think it would shake things up for the franchise.
In scream 6 the reason Detective Wayne Bailey was OK with the shrine as the spot is bcuz he wanted Sam 2 die around all of the things Richie loved most 2 get back at her. But I do agree that it was a stupid idea

Nah I’d have to disagree with scream 1, I think their main error was stabbing each other before killing Sydney, that made them too weak when hunting her down, especially Stu, a physically fit man and much bigger than Sydney, if he wasn’t wounded I think he would of been able to grab Sydney and kill her, then they could of continued their plan.
Also this video made me notice that with a few more throat slits the killers could of won, like Stu could of cut gale’s throat so she bleeds to death and makes sure she dies, Jill should of also cut Sydney’s throat or hell why not cut her head off? No coming back from that 100% plus that would get her rage out on her, but I can understand Jill because she seems to be a more hands off psycho as I think Charlie did most of the killings, I think Jill didn’t actually want to get her hands dirty more than she needed to so only did the stabs.

Scream 1: Lack of proper coordination seeing how they lost sight of sidney and wasted two opportunities to kill randy
Scream 2: Betrayal, like Nancy really thought she could fight everyone by herself
Scream 3: No actual plan to kill sidney + yapping for too long
Scream 4: Betrayal + no double tapping. Man she was super close to getting away with it
Scream 5: Revealing themselves with too many survivors left, thus getting overpowered
Scream 6: Poor battle iq and handling of the final battle
Can't wait for new chapters of your book
Lets be real, if all the killers were seriously that smart as they say they were and they went straight to the point by killing their target. There would be no plot or any meaning to the final act. I think that's what makes scream what it is because they know that most of the stuff that happens on screen wouldn't happen the same way irl. I could go into detail of the many things that would differ between movie and reality but to keep it simple, it's all for plot reasons.
For Amber not killing tara I'm guessing she wanted to do it in front of Sam

They always defeated cause they got to explain everything first.
Because they just sit there talking instead of killing. Then, when the object of their kill insults them, they get pissed and the heroine wins 🎉
We need a scream movie where at least one of the killers get away unknown

No. But it depends
BC all happen in a short period of time, this will rush events, and criminals will make mistakes, also if there are more than one criminal, even more easy that this will happen.
I feel like Billy and Stus main mistake was hurting each other before killing Sidney. If they would've waited to stab each other they would've had enough energy to 2v1 Sidney without giving her injuries to abuse against them. Det Baileys mistake was not shooting Sam but instead sprinting after her, and the entire "im gonna kill everyone and blame you" speech
One of the top reasons, near completing what they set out and because everything had been going according to plan, they get cocky and lose their A game.
However, I wouldn't say with Roman and Jill as they were the closest ones to actually kill Sidney

It's definitely their monologues and narcissistic need for recognition that always leads to their downfall. If they could just shut up about what they did and what they want they probably could win in the end. But then again they'd probably get the itch to do evil again...and ultimately karma would rear it's head. Kind of inevitable when their crimes are so extreme. Evil is usually its own punishment in the end.
Jill was the closest one to actually complete her goals. But of course she didn’t double check to see if Sydney was actually dead. But of course they lost cuz of plot armor
Agreed😂👍. The Ghost Face(s) on 7 should definitely be smart in their type of physical protection
I don't know if you did already but you should do a video where they should have automatically knew the killers were the killer buy certain clues or scenarios

Honestly i think the main thing the reason why these ghost faces fail is because of one simple word: *"stall"*
I still believe that Tara is a GF. I think if we would have had a Scream 7 that would have been the thing that would have taken us “back to the beginning.” That she killed Amber when she noticed that Sid and Gale were still strong enough and that Amber and Richie were outnumbered. I also think she was pulling the strings with the two killers in the beginning of six, and didn’t know about the other three.
Maybe Amber had a soft spot for Tara, they were girlfriends in the script. That could explain why she didn’t shoot her in the reveal scene or why she only tied her up afterwards. Or at least that’s just how I like to interpret their relationship
In a previous draft of Scream (2022), Tara and Amber had dated or were currently dating, so I can see how Amber's hesitation of wanting to kill Tara is a holdover from that plot point.

The reason Sidney killed all the ghost faces is because she is Sidney "terminator" Prescott, she couldn't lose as the writers didn't have the balls to allow it, along with the producers and directors lol
honestly, Jill just had to stab Sidney a couple more times and call it a day
Before the video even starts it’s because they all ways have to explain them self giving the victim time to be helped or get away
I wish that they would have kept a second killer a secret. Of course, it is like keeping the actor and actress around in the film, but it gives off the mystique. How are they getting around so quickly in the original? Yes, you have two apparent killers, but I would have had Roman get Stew's twin brother to be a third Backup killer, get the same actor who played Stew, and have him show up in the new films, and you get all the additional killers throughout the series to show up as this grand finale to where you have multiple killers at one time e
I remember seeing a fun little theory that ik it’s not correct but it’s funny saying that the ghostface costume is supernatural making the killers faster, stronger, and can take hits but the moment the mask is off it’s easy going from there to kill the killer. Since we’ve had plenty of killers who don’t look strong yet when we know who is under the mask in the certain scene it’s like how did they do that💀. Scream 5 and 6 has been very guilty of this.
Scream isn't supposed to be 100% realistic anyways. There are some things that should be overlooked like the height of Ghostface not matching the actual killer cause it's obviously a stunt double. Same thing goes for Quinn lifting Gale's boyfriend up and throwing him. Would she have been able to do that irl? Probably not but again, it's a movie lol and female killers can be strong and shouldn't be discredited on any way
Of course they always fail, they've watched way too many scooby doo and scream killer's are just like scooby doo villains.

Always wondered why Ghostface just doesn't bother revealing who they are and just go in for the kill. No phone calling. Just stalking and fear.
It's usually for revenge on Sydney for this or that or on Sam. They want them to know that they were beaten though that leads to their own defeats
It's simply for plot reasons.. if alot of stuff that happens in the movies didnt actually happen such as the killers stalling time and wasting their time chasing and taunting their targets, they could easily kill them right away and get away with it but then the movie would only be 30min to an hour and it wouldn't be a good movie

@adrianaguayo1540 I'm aware of that but they can do a Ghostface where they don't reveal who they are and maybe lead into the next movie. Leave hints throughout the movie and maybe lead into the next movie. Something different.

Well, if the idiots at Spyglass didn't fire Melissa Barrera. Ghostface would have succeeded in Scream 7. If the rumours were true and Sam would have been the killer.
Melissa is the idiot for supporting Hamas and was never going to be the killer, she was the hero of the movie. Her being a killer is just as stupid as all those idiots demanding Sidney should be GF.
Actually, it’s like my friend who hated scream said, “They should stop talking and explaining everything and just on with kill the main character”. He was right but reminded him it’s a satire. Don’t take them to seriously or the series will make a part 6 or 7. That was over 25 years ago.

Amber and Richie are supposed to be sloppy Ghostface killers. I think that's what the point is.

For Scream 2, I'll say it's also because Mikey chose to use a knife rather than gun. I get that he's the psycho serial killer, but honestly, he's going up against someone who's survived multiple serial killers before (i.e. Sidney, minimum) - man up and just shoot her in both of the kneecaps to ensure she's unable to fight back against you or your partner.
She'll be in too much pain to not get murdered!
Since Mickey wanted to get caught I think he had the best chance of actually taking her out. He didn't have to worry about all the details.

In Scream 6, the father killer. Who had the gun, walked off while allowing Quin and Ethan to face the Carpenter sisters without guns. He could have shot either Carpenter sister before they killed his two kids. Him walking off also allow the carpenter sisters to hide giving them the upper hand. Personally I think he was sort of the dumbest killer of all six movies

Did you also notice when agreed sam shot quinn in the head and she was about to shoot the detective, he also had a gun in his hand but instead of shooting at her as she was running towards him, he just ran towards her until they both collided and collapsed over the balcony

Because they take off the ghostface costume. While they’re wearing it they have plot armor. The costume is literal plot armor but the second they take it off they lose that plot armor and become vulnerable dumb killers.
You could reason that all the Ghostfaces play their games indeed of straight up killing Sydney in a sneak attack, but they all are more for the theatrical thrill of terrifying their victims and making a grand crime scene for the news. They all want to be like Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Damher. Subconsciously, anyway remembered in infamy but remembered nonetheless.
(Billy,Stu,Jill,Charlie wanted to be the tragic surviving victims.
Nancy Revange.
Mickey remembered like Ted Bundy plea insanity.
Roman mommy issues and insane.
Richie and Amber forgot.

Because, ultimately, murder is dumb. The reasoning you actually have to take to be okay with murdering someone, and even worse, carrying a full plan on it, is the worst course of action someone could take, it doesn't resist a logical check like you've did on this video. And because murder is anti-natural in any society, there's the emotions of not getting caught and cover up your tracks, and the emotions of fear, eventual enjoyment, anxiety and so on. It's like in the movie Falling Down. Guy decides to be violent as a reaction, but ultimately, it is a dumb decision - his situation wasn't so bad to the point his only choice was to go out being violent. Dumb people ultimately lose.
True. It's just the crime itself that leads to their downfall. They could've handled their s-- in a healthier way...but they chose the 'easy' way out that never is.

@@Hear.myvoice While that's true, it's not what I'm going for. I'd love to see the franchise start fresh and the first movie of this new beginning acts like the opening kill scene. Ghostface has his targets and kills em all. This would lead us to the sequel where those kills impact is felt by the friends and family of The Ghostface killings. Those people would become our new close knit group who end up coming together to seek revenge and find out who Ghostface is. I think there should still be multiple killers and this time I'd like to see them divorced from the group of survivors. It'd be a bold move but maybe at the end of the first new movie we learn who the killers are and see the following sequels show the killers plotting their moves as well as the survivors getting closer to discovering the truth.

the reasons they failed because they were insane and idiots. they didn't kill Sidney and the others when they had the chance. they had to monologue as well.
The monologue is always the downfall of the killers. If they would just skip that part and shoot Sidney in the head, the killers would win in every single movie (or rather there wouldn’t of been so many). It’s just a movie though so.. yeah. I love them!
Wouldn't there technically 14 killers because of Tony Revolori and his unseen roommate/co-killer that were killed at the beginning of Scream 6?

Another critical error made by all of them: why bother revealing yourself at all when you could just kill everyone and walk off into the ether undetected
And normally the first suss looking guy or woman at start is the killer they are starting to get boring as it's the same stuff over n over why not do it on a cruse boat and ghost face sinks the ship lol
