  • ‪@JunkyardDigs‬ and I take on this 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo with a built 402 big block under the hood, that has been sitting for over a decade. Can we make it run and do burnouts again for the original owner?

Man this car brings back memories, I was born in '83 and in '90 my dad came home with a black cherry w/ black interior '70 Monte with a 454, a little rough around the edges but a real asphalt stomper. I got to drive it a few times to high school before I bought an '84 regal as my first car. Eventually it got to the point it was ready for a full resto and he was recently remarried and had a new child on the way at 43 so he sold it in '07 to a guy for a man and his 14 y/o daughter as a first car project, I still see it from time to time at the local cruise ins and while no longer a daily driver she still has it now at nearly 30 years old.

Monte Carlo is a small Principality in the South of France on the Mediterranean coast.
It’s a very wealthy state . Loads of multi million dollar super yachts in the harbour.
At the end of may the great and the very rich descend there for the oldest race on the Formula 1 calendar.

Money and time. My father always loved his 65 impala but between raising 2 kids, fixing on the house, and working full time, it’s often hard to come up with money or time to put into an old project car, and when the time comes that you either have some money, or some time, it seems you only ever have one, and not the other. You either have the money but don’t have the time it takes, or you have the time but no longer have the money. Life just gets in The way

Comment No. 2 after watching the burnout - what a beautiful car. Reminds me so much of my college bf's red Camaro.

I had a Mallory dual point distributor in my 74 Chevy 4x4 I hauled wood and farmed with for 6 years and never replaced the points. Rolling burnouts are REAL BURNOUTS

New to the channel, but loving it...and must say first video to see ya and one of my top 5 favorite cars! The 70 is my favorite but 71 is very similar! Buddy had one and the room under the hood could fit 2 engines! Lol. Can't say exactly what it is about this style Monte but it's just absolutely sexy to my eyes anywho! Looking forward to watching more of ur content, keep it up!
