I've got a black one, I love it. It's March of 24, so it's a few years after this video is made. I wish they would have made a five shot pellet magazine that you could slide through the opening where to pellet goes. I'm just too lazy to put in a pellet every time! So it's a BB gun to me, and it's as accurate as you can get for a BB gun.
665fps is a little conservative and expect more around 685fps - 695fps using crosman and Daisy pellets that one can find at Walmart. Of coarse those numbers are dependent on how much the pellet weighs and believe me it makes a difference! I own a chronograph and have tested many different brands and weighs of pellets. I've gotten close to 800fps with alloy 5.25gr pellets and low 700s with 7.25gr pellets. Meisterkugeln 8.2gr pellets are my favorite and shoot consistently from my 880 at 681fps! The 880 is a great gun and you can't go wrong buying one. They are accurate, lite weight and well built. And if you can still find one for $38 at Walmart that's even better! But expect in 2022 to pay $60 but it will still be a much better gun then the crosman legacy 1000 that costs around $64.
Mines got about 3000 pellets run through it. Forget BB's. Waste of time. Mine shoots RWS Basics and Super H Points the best. Takes rats easily. I have taken feral chickens to 10-12 yards with 8 pumps and we'll placed head shots. Super easy to pump, and pumps quietly. The 880 shoots pretty quietly also. Before this pandemic, Amazon had these at $27.00 for a while. Good power too. Foreman 2100B is another good multi-pumper. It has a metal receiver, while the 880 is plastic. Looks like from TH-cam videos, that the 880 is pretty easy to work on. The Crosman not so much. In a pinch, a Daisy 880 with a decent 4x32AO scope, a little bottle with 30 weight non detergent oil, a couple tins RWS Super H Point pellets, and one could feed themselves with small game and do it quietly. 1 second ago

But I feel the fit and finish is tight and much better then say a Crosman Legacy 1000 which is a real plastic piece of junk! Every time I shoot this gun I shoot nonstop for 2 - 3 hours and put 10 pumps into it every time. I check it on my crono periodically and the speeds are always consistent and the gun always shoots above 680fps. I paid $38 for it at Walmart. They've gone up to $60 now. Either way this is a great gun and it's built very well for something that is mostly plastic.
When you were saying it’s harder to pump at 9 or 10 pumps I laughed because today I shot my daisy 880 and crosman legacy 1000 and the 880 seemed SO easy after pumping the legacy for all 12 pumps
Yup it is. Does your 1000 still work though? I own both and The 880 is a much better gun in my opinion. The 1000 is a little bigger and feels more like a real gun then The 880 and shoots a little stronger but I found that accuracy is the same. The biggest difference between the two is my Daisy still works! That 1000 truly is a plastic piece of junk and at the time it cost twice as much!
@@irongoose3865 my crosman legacy 1000 still works and even a lot better than the 880, I have issues with the 880 where I have to push the bolt forward because it doesn’t stay in the place it should be. I think my legacy 1000 has a little bit more accuracy also it is so much easier to load with a scope on.
The only complaint I have about the 880 is: when loading a tiny pellet into the chamber, with my big fingers, it has a tendency to lay in cocked to one side; at which point I'll have to try getting it to line up straight. Otherwise it shoots fine; especially for killing gophers.
Great review! You have convinced me this inexpensive gun will work. I have to eliminate 6-7 inch Black Cuban Lizards from a Butterfly breeding enclosure. Please read this idea and give your opinion. Pull the end off of Q-tip and use as a "wad" pushing down with small chopstick*. Put aprox. 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of salt down gun barrel. Pack down with chopstick planning to shoot downward, pack small amount of other end of Q-tip down on top. The shots will be close range 2-6 feet. Any other ideas?
I have a legacy 1000 which is the predecessor of the 2100 and my 1000 won't shoot above 500fps anymore after just 3 outing with it. It used to shoot 720fps which is faster then my 880 that shoots 685fps. You really can't notice a difference in my opinion and accuracy is the same. I believe the 2100 is built better then the 1000 but the build quality on the 880 is very good for something mostly made of plastic. If you have your hart set on a 2100 then get one, but don't get the 1000. There are many bad reviews across the internet on the 1000 and speaking from experience it's a piece of junk! The 880 is my recommendation especially if you can find one for $38 at Walmart like I did. Unfortunately the last time I checked the price of an 880 at Walmart they had gone up to $60 !!!

Just got mine the other day from Amazon. My front sight is not like yours. According to the printed manual, it is a blade and ramp. The 901 has the fiber optic sight. Heck, the Amazon product page has it wrong at least twice; in the "About This Item" and "Product Description" section. But then Amazon shows blade and ramp in the "From the manufacturer" and "Compare" sections. I ordered the kit where I was supposed to get containers of BBs and pellets but instead got 2 cans of BBs. Can't blame that on Amazon. I hoping to use the 880 to chase raccoons away from my fish pond; not to do any damage to them, just discourage their visits.
I just got one of these and it calls for lubing the hinges and cotton something using non detergent auto oil. Can I use something else I might have in the garage?
Does anyone have the issue of when the gun is point above flat horizontal (say you're aiming up at a tree branch), and the bb doesn't not release out the muzzle? Mine won't eject if the muzzle is slightly angled up. Only 7 pumps.
I'm not sure what you mean by other model but if it's an 880 it has a rifled barrel. Now they do make a 35 which doesn't have a rifled barrel and if you like only shooting BBs a smooth bore is what you want and it will be more accurate then a rifled barrel.

@@jadynescobar9118 Mine broke as soon as I pumped it the 3rd time which then the whole stock somehow broke off the rifle and smacked me in the head giving me a goose egg on my forehead. Rifle still shoots but I don't even wanna touch it anymore with the stock somehow broken off which stated earlier: wacked me in the head. Definitely getting something a bit more expensive next time. Maybe this was a manufacture error? Who knows?
