    Just got one of these. Usually shoot break barrel springers, however, just wanted something to shoot around in the back yard. The 880 is wonderful for that. Been thinking about getting the Daisy 901. It has the same power plant and internals, but the stock seems to be a higher grade polymer. Good cheap fun. So much cheaper to purchase than my German or British springers. Thanks for the video.

    Nice video. The 880 is really a great air rifle for such a low price. I have one and my range is set up at 30 yards. At that distance, with RWS R10 pellets, I consistently get 1/2" groups, if there is zero wind. I do use a scope with parallax adjustment, which helps a lot. I noticed your scope is like that too. I also like to shoot it at 60 to 70 yards, sometimes even stretch it to 100 yards, but only for shooting at cans. There must be no wind to be somewhat accurate at 100 yards, but the 880 will do it.

    I have this rifle and have tested (and chronographed) various makes and weights of pellets with it. What you say about heavier weight pellets in guns of this type may well be correct. With RWS Superdomes (8.3 gn), I obtained a muzzle energy of 8 ftlbs and with Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums (10.5 gn) a muzzle energy of 9 ftlbs. Very respectable for a rifle which cost me just £57 last week.

    • @jipleyYT
      @jipleyYT ปีที่แล้ว

      Most forget that this is a 16 joule = 12 ft/lbs gun and as powerfull as any springer sold in the U.K. As they are all limited to 12ft/lbs.

    • @99ron30
      @99ron30 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jipleyYT Well they they tend to make around 8-10 foot pounds on all the reviews I have seen. Which is excellent for £60ish or 40 dollars ish in the USA.
      And thankfully Daisy didn't give the UK the crappy Canadian model that is limited to under 500 feet per second, unfortunately the Crosman pump up pistols we get in UK are the Canadian models and only make 3.5 foot pounds unless you modify them.

    By far the best airgun review I've found on TH-cam. Lots of little kid video reviews and plenty of adult target demonstrations, but you actually explain everything about the Daisy Powerline 880 Rifle in detail. I've been considering purchasing either this 880 Powerline or the 901 Powerline. Do you have any experience with the 901 or opinions on how it compares to the 880?

    Fellow air gun shooters, I have seen in numerous videos it is not a good thing to shoot BBs through a rifled barrel. True or false regarding the Daisy Powerline 880?

    • @reevessairgunningreviews5572
      @reevessairgunningreviews5572  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steel BB's against a steel rifled barrel will eventually damage the rifling. Rifling is designed to grip the projectile and spin to create accuracy, but the projectiles drive band needs to be soft enough to engage that rifling, which is why Lead pellets are more accurate. Copper coated Lead or Lead only BB's would be a better option for the Daisy 880.

    • @juliemaples4180
      @juliemaples4180 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daisy rep told me not to use copper BB’s - can damage the barrel, but zinc coated steel is fine.
