  • Enjoy this 23-minute Yoga for Calves coming to you from the new YWA digs! Stretch, flex, and increase your range of motion with this sweet and satisfying calf focused session. Throughout this practice I will guide you through a variety of functional movements that will help you to release muscle stiffness in the legs and improve your blood circulation.
    Did you know that calves are also known as the “second heart” of the body? The muscles of the calf are POWERFUL in aiding healthy body function! That is because they aid in the flow of blood, in an effort against gravity, from the lower body back to the heart.
    Add this practice to your repertoire to improve circulation, enhance mobility, prevent muscle cramps and risk of injury, or if you participate in activities involving a lot of lower body exercise (i.e. running, hiking, soccer, etc.)!

    I started this practice in tears and feeling very heavy. I actually wasn’t sure if I should start while crying. But I did and it helped me feel not as alone when Adriene came on the screen. I ended it feeling a lot lighter than when I started. That’s why I love yoga. Thank you Adriene!

    I started my Yoga Journey with Adriene when I turned 50 yrs, now 54 and a half. It was a late start but hey never too old to try something new. I practice daily morning to begin my day with a full body stretch of 15 mins and evening 20-30 mins for the whole body and feet and have not missed a practice. The practices just keep getting better and seem so easy now that I have been practicing for 4 years. I find my wrists hurt but i know when to stop and rotate to take the pressure off. This is going to me my daily practice for the next week. Thank you Adriene for this beautiful practice as my calves need much love daily. Much Love from Australia.

      Well said! ☺️ You know what they say, 'its never too late' and we continue to learn every single day. I started when I was 51 and I'm almost 58 now. I have incorporated yoga into every single day. I actually cannot imagine a day without yoga. All thanks to the truly wonderful and sublime Adriene. The benefits of yoga cannot be underestimated.     I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for a decade now and have a new flare up since May. I've been doing this video almost every day since it came out and it has helped my recovery tremendously! Thank you Adriene!

    I just had a massage. I mentioned to the therapist that I am experiencing a plantar fasciitis flare. She noted that my calves are tight and worked her magic. She encouraged me to work on stretching my calves, so I looked to see if Adriene had one for calves and found this gem. Instant addition to my fav list. THANK YOU, ADRIENE!

    Oh wow, the calves are known as the second heart?! I didn't know that. But it makes total sense. Similar to how they say in kundalini yoga that the arms are an extension of the heart. Thank you for shining your beautiful light so brightly, dear Adriene. 💛✨

    My calves have been really heavy felling today. Adrien always seems to know what i need. I do her yoga everyday sometimes its a ten min bedtime one but she is a constant in my life❤ and i love this community

    Just what I needed -- I've been having a lot of tension in my calves due to standing on my feet for several hours each day at work. I've also been trying to get back into a more consistent workout regimen because I always feel so much better after moving my body with intention. This was great for my calves, but also my arms -- wild thing had me shaking like a leaf! So good to get this session in before I go to work today. Thank you, Adriene!

    Love this practice! It was designed with the calves in mind but I find it to be fantastic for stretching out my back as well. I deal with chronic back pain and never know how the day will greet me. This one hits many of the hot buttons. Thank you for these types of sessions!

    Get To Know, June 4, 2024. Just when I thought I was building strength I am quickly humbled with extensive use of the guns in tabletop and plank variations. Arms were tested today that's for sure. My first light attempt at wild thing. Never even bothered contemplating it last year while dabbling in the toe dip back into yoga. But today I gave it a go. It was a better start than I expected. That one is a turtle race for me. But happy with the beginnings of something I considered difficult. Namaste 💙

    Whenever i do a run on the treadmill, a home workout, or a long walk in uncomfortable shoes, my calves are so tight and sore the next day - this practice will be one to return to time and time again! 🧡

    I injured my tendon this week and yoga for the feet really helped, but my calves still hurt so I was looking for yoga for calves and Adriene just uploaded this. The magic of Adriene and yoga ❤❤❤ Thank you for being the best yoga teacher.

    I did this practice in the airport hotel in Delhi, en route to Nepal for a family visit. This was the perfect practice after a 15 hour flight and a decent hotel sleep. Definitely recommend this after air travel. Thanks always!

    I sprained my ankle pretty bad while climbing a few weeks ago and am slowly getting back to yoga. In just a few weeks of not using it, the calf muscles in my right leg got sooo weak and stiff. This was perfect and so helpful, thank you🩷

    The synchronicity I have with you and Be Ji is pure SERENDIPITY...just two days ago @ now age 55 ...WHAT 😅...cannot wrap my head around it....was lovingly looking at my calves, rubbing them and thinking 🤔 how they have always been a firm , shapely, strong body part , no matter how far I have wondered off the movement path.     I'm a runner who has a very calf-dominant running form. My calves are almost always sore or pulsing after a long run or hike, and do sometimes start having spasms when I overexert them. I can already tell this practice is going to be amazing and in my regular rotation.

    'It's a great opportunity to let go of anything you've been hanging on to that just may not be providing anything of good use' [16:58 - 17:11] - That's the lesson that we all ought to take away from this practice. Also, a lovely and joyful one. The muscles of the calf are stretched up and are ready for the rest of the day.

    Great practice Adriene. 👍 I did struggle quite a lot today, it's hot here in the UK, and my Fibromyalgia is acting up this morning. (It really doesn't like the temperature changes.) So I had to pause the video quite a few times, to breathe, and switch my fan on so, I had air to breathe. But all in all I really enjoyed this practice. It's funny I'm sure at times you can read my mind, because I went to London last week, and did lots of walking. My calves, and other parts of my leg, have been complaining ever since, and today you bring this practice to me. It's so funny when that happens. Thank you so much Adriene, and Benji.     GET TO KNOW🤝 - June 2024
    I get to know my internal and bodily wants and needs through my yoga practice.
    Loving the new YWA digs😍! What a beautiful space to practice: the outside looks just as zen and relaxing as the inside🤍🌿. Wondering where it’s filmed? Anyways, focusing on the calves today was a fun and new concept: they’ve never received so much love and attention before today! Considering this month’s theme I really took the time today to get to know my physical body and what it asks of me, to feel and respond to every shape and to fully embody ME. It’s so important to be in tune with your body and listen to it, as its in constant communication with us whether we’re hungry, sad, scared, in pain, it’s always asking for a suitable, loving, caring response.     Since I've gotten into movement recently, a new passion that has started with watching your videos and fuelled by having started running, I've noticed what feel like new dimensions to my breath? Like when I run, i can hear deeper harmonics of more space that has been unlocked, down through spine. I definitely attribute this to yoga; I do feel as though I sit up a little taller every time I start a session with you, from previous work. Does anyone else relate to this concept of more space to breathe unlocked in the body?

    Thank you Adriene for this great video today! I’ve been doing daily yoga as my New Year Resolution and can feel the difference with my body. I am classical musician, so I spend lots of time practicing and performing and my body needs that extra stretch sometimes. I am also more conscious about my body posture while playing. Maybe you could create a yoga class for classical musicians? Thank you!

    Great practice to stretch and strengthen. First really challenging practice I’ve done in terms of it being okay to be in plank for a while, downward dog and do wild thing, after shoulder surgery last August. Namaste xo

    You always seem to know what I need in the moment. I have been dancing a lot on raves lately (sober, I don't drink alcohol) and one rave I was at last weekend was at the top of a mountain, so had to walk up there in addition to all the dancing. My calves have been sore the past few days. I am currently on my 5th day of a water fast and this routine was perfect right now. I feel great!

    I wish you would continue with foundations of yoga since I think there are still poses you didn't include. Help beginners to slowly ease into all the asanas and find the ground from which to build. You gave such great advice and variations in the series. Thanx, you are so my kind of teacher.

    I am just now getting back into Yoga to work on my fitness and wellbeing overall. The first video I found was from Adriene and oh my gosh I just love her. She knows her stuff and is a pleasure to watch, she makes me laugh and I love her overall vibe. I found a true gem on TH-cam and now I don’t watch anybody else :)
