    That pink version is fabulous! Having it over the monochrome under layers really highlighted it. You have such genius for seeing these hacks in your mind & bringing them into being.

    Im so glad i found this video. Im currently (slowly) sewing the donny shirt and the official tutorial is harder for me to follow due to angles and the fabric choice they used. This is so much clearer and easier to follow. Thank you so much.
    Now im regretting my fabric choice (and my laziness to not interface), but i'll think of it as a toile 😅

    Love your versions and the hack is very smart looking. I’ve made 3 of these so far and love them. The last version I made sleeveless and added a dart for shaping and to take in excess at the armhole. I also ran an easeline at front & below the yoke to gently pull in the armhole excess & finished with bias strip. It worked great but think next time I’ll do that full bust adjustment to move the dart below the arm. My fabric has a busy floral print so the dart is invisible, but in a solid color it would look weird. I was hoping you’d do a review of this wonderful pattern, so thanks much!

    Nice collar! These days. I refuse to buy patterns that do NOT have bust darts. But, you mentioned that it’s possible to add darts, hopefully bust darts! Is there a video with those instructions❓

      You know, thats the best part of Katrina's channel, she actually wears all of her makes. You will also see her pair her makes together tops, bottoms and beyond. I've even purchased patterns because I like how she's styled ( 2 ) two of her makes together. I also enjoy seeing her wear clothes she'd sewn a year or so ago.

    I have been crushing on the Donny shirt pattern and it looks fabulous on you. But I am short and plus sized. I am also broad shouldered and I'm afraid it will not be flattering on me personally. It will just make me look broader.

      What about a drapier fabric?

    • @gillianwhaites5974
      @gillianwhaites5974 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m a bigger girl too. Just find the length that suits you. A drapy fabric too will fall softly. 3/4 sleeves can be more flattering too.

    Hello! Thank you for this video- it was so helpful! I have a question about attaching the collar- if mine is not lining up perfectly and I’m getting some bunching or pleats, would that indicate that I’ve coen something wrong? Perhaps with the cutting or pattern tracing?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe you cut the collar with the fabric on the fold. That can make your collar a tad bit longer and thus will not match the neckline exactly. That’s why I extend the pieces to cut them in a single layer and without a fold.

    I like both of your tops. Do you have information to source the pins? You said you found them in a store so I won’t be disappointed if you can’t source them.

    Do you think it would be possible for this to be done in a stretch fabric? I would love the original version to use as a golf shirt

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't. The facings and collar would be much harder to manage in a knit for it to looks good, neat and not stretched out. It would also feel super baggy.
