You will see great sewing footage and you will be ready to tackle your shirts with confidence. Come join me!
    We will touch on all the reasons your collar might not match your neckline and bring a lot of solutions. Super practical.

    Your 'fave ' method for sewing a banded collar is an absolute winner. I have just tried it and the result was the neatest collar I have ever sewn. I have been making shirts for thirty years and never had such a good result. Thank you so much.

    Thank you so much. I've used your least favourite method, one that many sewists advocate, a number of times and also don't like it - it's hard to get the collar to fit accurately. Having used your favourite method to create shirt cuffs, I was thinking of trying it for a band collar that I'm presently sewing. So, I went to TH-cam to see if there were some specific instructions. That's when I found your vlog and it's exactly what I want to do. It just makes such sense. I'll be checking out your other videos.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. These are my favourite type of collars, but I always struggle with them. I’m saving this video to use when I sew my next one. Also, I really appreciate the reasons you give for why collars don’t fit the neckline exactly. I’m wondering in my case whether it’s because I use steam when interfacing which does seem to shift the dimensions of the collar, ie, the interfaced side doesn’t match the non interfaced side. I need to block fuse, without steam I think! Always useful content, thank you again Karina x

    • @rebeccamace8803
      @rebeccamace8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This happens with me as well. I always have to trim my interfaced collar to make it match the pattern piece after fusing.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't use steam for block fusing. What you can do it fuse one layer or fabric, place another layer of unfused fabric underneath and cut both collar band pieces at the same time. There is no way to go wrong there.
