2024 Nissan Titan Most Reliable NEW Half-Ton Truck? 0% for 60 months! Why Not?

  • The Nissan Titan is one of the most overlooked 1/2 ton trucks on the market. If I had to guess which truck in 2024 would stand the test of time, it would probably be the Titan. GM Sierra, Chevy Silverado, Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra all have issues that cost a lot of money and are not showing that they can be reliable. Would you buy the new TItan?

Until I see other brands raise their quality and stop having issues with every...single...little thing, and big thing, I think the Titan would be the best long-term buy in a truck right now. If you want something for 100k+, this might be the best option.

Totally in agreement with you. And, for those prices, it's hard not to take a look. The less tech and gimmicky stuff, the less stuff to break down after the thing is out of warranty in the typical Big 3, 3 year warranty period. Happy 4th and keep up the great work!

@@TheCarGuyOnline Just looking at Titan today at the dealership. Surprisingly, open on the 4th. A little scary that they don't print the gas mileage on the sticker like Frontier does. But they are really NICE trucks with a great V8 growl. If I really needed one, I would sign up without even looking at big 3. And there were MANY Tundras next door, including the $80k Capstone, several in day-glo solar octane, and ALL looking so innocent with those "unsafe " tiny engines hiding behind the MASSIVE grilles.
Amazingly, the Nissan sales guy didn't know anything about the Toyota recall!
There were only a few Frontiers there including a LWB SV I would like to adopt. Then I went in the cool showroom (113 degrees today) and saw the new Z cars...
They need to make me a package deal on one of each of these 3 models!

June 2023 I sold my reliable old 2002 F150 and bought a new Titan Pro4X. I love it. It was priced much below other brands that were equipped the same. I got a big discount and 0% financing. It has the most comfortable seat I've ever had. I can drive it for hours and my 80 yr old back doesn't hurt when I get out. Yeah, it burns more gasoline than the turbo trucks but I'm retired and don't drive that much. It hasn't had any issues so far.
One reason I bought a Nissan was that in early 2014 I bought my wife a new 2013 Infiniti EX37, the smallest crossover SUV with a 3.7 V6 and RWD. She has put 58k miles on it so far and I've spent 0 dollars on repairs. She loves it. It hauls butt too which she loves.

I am now a previous Tundra owner, as I was forced to sell my 22 Tundra at a nearly $25K loss and walk away from the brand all together due to the following reasons:
1- Dealership confirmed turbo needs replacement. Turbos on back order no ETA available.
2- Turbo replacement requires an invasive and significant amount of work on the truck up to separating the cab from the chassis. Any person with half a brain knows that these trucks will never come together again like when they exit the factory.
3- There is no guarantee that the second turbo will not also require replacement in the future, that is an unacceptable risk hanging over my head.
4- This truck is also part of the cohort recalled for the engine debris left in the block issue, again another ticking time bomb in my $75K+ Tundra
Due to all these reasons and many other quality and fit and finish issues plaguing my Tundra, I felt I had no choice but to sell it back to the dealer at a loss.
This was my first experience with the vaulted Toyota brand, and will very likely be my last. I will never again touch a Toyota product, and I will be sure to anyone in my social circle looking to purchase a Toyota to beware.

Picked up a '23 Pro 4X in September. Alignment (steering wheel off center), tailgate actuator replacement, transfer case actuator recall, LCD screen/radio head replacement because of permanent imprints after 6 months, so I put a glass screen protector on the new one. Having a good dealership service department is a huge plus. Like it better than my '18 F-150 FX4, but it does have less back seat room and storage as the wheelbase is about 4" shorter. Tows the same, pretty much the same specs at the FX4. Runs smoother and more power on the recommended premium gas. Got 15% off and they gave me 33.5k for my F-150. I was going for 35k for my trade when a shopper that had been in before came in to buy it, so I grabbed the deal. The white paint on black trim looks sharp and is cooler in the Arizona summer. Toyota fanboys are especially to blame for the Titan being discontinued. At least most of the guys who bought from the big 3 did so out of nostalgia, i.e. their dads drove the same brand of truck, which at least carries some weight. But tundra guys? I called most of the dealers who advertise the Titan at a low price online, but when I contacted them, I couldn't find anything under $50k. They claim the online price is only available if you qualify for all discounts, including trade-in, military, student, and many other conditions that hardly anyone can meet. 99% of dealers are misleading customers by posting these prices just to get you to call them. It's deceptive! I was interested in the Titan but when I started to see the price between $50k to $65k, I do not believe it is worth it because since it is discounted, resale value will be very low and may be after few years, it will be very challenging to get spare parts!
