I wrote about a year ago about how this video has changed my life. I had all the symptoms listed in all other posts and saw doctor after doctor and they couldn’t help. I had reached the point where breathing was difficult and had no zest to do much of anything. I used the spray for about 3 months straight while watching what I ate and I have been symptom free since. I haven’t even used the spray for the past 2 months. This has been a life saver for me...I changed my eating habits and have the occasional treat and drink here and there and still have no problems. If you suffer from LPR, know that you’re not alone and give this a shot.

@@bcheung5676 I have a question did you have to burp a lot or difficulties swallowing or clear your throat of mucus? If so did this help that? My main concern right now is I have hard time breathing like as if I'm not getting enough air as I should
I have had LPD for 30 years with zero help from the medical community. This simple explanation works. I gargle twice a day with a solution of baking soda and alkiline water and my LPD is gone. This really works!
Is it normal to also having bloating and burping? I'm 19 and I still don't have a money to check up on a doctor. I'm suffering this disease for 9 months now.
Oh My GOD! I never usually leave comments. I have had lpr with no hurtburn since 2013, non stop every hour of the day mucus that would build up on my air ways causing me to clear my throat and cough. TMI but I could spit up half a cup of mucus a day. Constant feeling of something in my throat and when I get up in the morning a slight acidic burn. I’ve tried prescription and over the counter nothing worked. I seen this video 4 days ago and thought this is not going to work. Last night I bought all the items mentioned and used it before bed. THIS WORKS!!! For the first time in 9 years no mucus no coughing no burn. I feel like a normal functioning human. If you have lpr please do this. May it change your life as it has mine. Thanks doc I could kiss you

I'm literally in tears! I'm the care taker of my mom who had been suffering from LPR and was never diagnosed we've been to the gastroenterologist numerous times never once did they say she had LPR. THIS SOLUTION WORKS! I'm so grateful to GOD that HE lead me to research and this video! Thank you soo much Dr. Mark Noar We love and appreciate you!

I have been dealing with silent reflux for about 3 years. Took different kind of ppi meds, none of those really help. I’m a car salesman, and have to talk all of the time, my voice slowly getting worse everyday, having difficulty speak at work, started to messing up my work. I went to speech therapy, didn’t help. Until I found this video, I finally can talk again with little to no restrictions, the lump in my throat is gone now, I have been using the spray bottle for 2 days now, I think if I keep doing it, it may eventually heal me. Thank you for your video, you saved my life.
Hi Chi Lam I am a stock broker, I am talking all day long, more than 9 hours par day. Can you give me an update about your situation? I've got LPR as well and it is a tragedy of a disease for a salesman
I was at my breaking point after a year of multiple traumas pushed my gerd and lpr into a severe state. I couldnt eat anything but pudding, smoothies, and bananas. I started gaviscon advance and using this method. After 24 hours I am about 65 percent better. Doctors showed no interest in helping me, they threw me on pantoprazole, told me to lose weight, diet, and called it a day. Thank you, Dr. Noar! Onward and upward from here!
Wow!! I am experiencing the same thing, I can only have soft foods as solids are difficult to get down. Glad you are feeling better, this gives me hope!
The truth is, losing weight does help too. If sucks because I’m 5’1” and when I weighed 100-110 lbs I didn’t have the symptoms unless I overate. Now I’m 125lbs and I have it all the time.
@@kaylankrolikowski Hi, I have the same thing (very severe). Had it 12 years ago doctors no help, sent me to a pyscologist (didn't go, knew i was not making it up). This works! I used 9.5 alkaline water and after adding the 2 table spoons of baking soda to 16 Oz alkaline water I shook it up. I placed mine into a plastic mist bottle from Walmart travel section. I took the advice from this video and made a slight modification. I add high pH 9.5+ water from Smart Water to a small face steamer and breathe it in through my mouth for a few mins. This helps a lot as well to get the alkalinity into the throat. This helps a lot as well.

Everything the doctor mentioned on his video , I had this issue really bad, in the last 3 days . I was in pain with sinuses, ears, throat , and now I lost my voice . Hi, @chexk fines. Can you tell me somw of Your mazor symptoms please?? I am facing same problem since 2014.. No cure yet.. Please help me by explaon some of Your symptoms.
I have the exact same symptoms and dx myself. Cheek Im sure this has to be done for the rest of our lives. Check out Dr Jonathan Aviv Acid Watchers Diet.
Wow, these are my symptoms along w hearing myself swallow and ear pain, on top of that I’ve had weight lost. Started last month went to ER and they didn’t see anything, prescribed me antibiotics and pain meds, didn’t help.. haven’t had a solid meal since last month.. finally went to ENT I worked myself up to believing it was cancer because of google and all of my symptoms. ENT did a scope and didn’t see anything BUT I still felt something so in my head I didn’t accept that 100% but I had to calm myself down because I’ve already lost 1lbs.. he told me it was LPR and gave me medicine, told me to give it 10 days to feel it working but I don’t feel anything. I’m going to the store on my lunch break to get the water and baking soda because I’ve had enough.. I just keep crying, it’s frustrating!
My lpr really only affected my breathing. No heartburn or pain. I had a terrible wheeze and was continuously on steroids(prednisone). This has been going on for years. I had both a pulmonologist and gastroenterologist that didn’t help. Finally I realized maybe a topical inhaled steroid would work. And it did. I got my pulmonologist to prescribe trelegy elipta inhaler. It’s used as a maintenance drug for asthma/copd. After years of not being able to breathe or do anything, I got my breath back!! If ur LPR is like mine and really affects breathing get ur doctor to order this med. It has turned my life around.
Gonna try this. Two years of hoarseness, cough and breathing issues. I have hiatal hernia and was diagnosed with GERD. But my acidic GERD is fairly mild. I suspect prior to symptoms, I had silent reflux for a long time, which also might explain halitosis. After PPIs and inhalers didn't work, my doctor gave up and said there is no explanation, then even started trying to say it was somatic. Not once did my doctor at this prestigious medical conglomerate even mention Airway reflux or pepsin. I found out about Airway Reflux from out of network Rheumatologist which led me to do my own research. What is up with the knowledge in the medical community? Anyways, I will try this and really appreciate doctors sharing knowledge like this. We need more medical professionals like this sharing knowledge and furthermore in their own medical communities.
Hey Robert, I have had similar problems as you. Have you found any relief? I made a video about my own problems on my channel if you are interested, but long story short, my throat has been in pain for 3 years, and no doctor has helped me, and nothing has worked. This advice in this video made my throat worse.
They are trained only to match up symptoms to top selling drugs like PPIs, which cause dependence and side effects like osteoporosis and chronic kidney disease without ever treating the underlying causes. When this doesn't work, they blame you and scratch their heads. On to the next customer... excuse me... patient.
Thank you so much for this. Been suffering with LPR for 10 years that's still not being effectively treated by doctors. Just had one of my worst cases of it that started 9pm that lasted til 5AM the following morning when it finally settled just enough to sleep. I was up all night with horrendous wheezing, causing nasty coughing and throat clearing. Went to the store this morning to buy what I needed to try this because I was still wheezing heavily after waking up. Just tried it, and in minutes my wheezing has reduced by 95% after one application. The relief is incredible my throat had been torn to ribbons with everything else failing to stop it
Also, try this inhaler called trelegy elipta. I tried gargling and drinking baking soda water. It didn’t work for me. This inhaler has a topical steroid in it that really helped with wheezing and shortness of breath.
I'm finally free from bad breath and white tongue after having a horrible outbreak and I feel the same way you described in your interview. Beard Uncut: Did you also have a hard time taking a good deep breath? Where your overall breathing is ok but if you consciously try and take a deep breath, it feels like it won't complete. Thank you.
@@qso3566 yes! In my case continuous sinus related issues which were caused by LPR turned into a constant post nasal drip which formed chronic bronchitis. But before all that I also looked into the possibility of hiatal hernia and ruled it out with a contrast xray because that also can make your breathing shallow and could be a root cause for LPR and GERD. I am not using a nebulizer to get rid of my bronchitis while using the bicarbonate solution to keep the lpr symptoms and sinus at bay.
@@qso3566 the worst part is, there's no way to measure the short breath. The spirometry test which is usually considered will give a normal result. And you won't be able to find out what's causing your dull and low quality life. But in my experience, If I pay great attention to my breathing and if it is not getting obstructive and the days I am able to breathe properly with deep and effortless breaths, I will be able to sleep much better and wake up fresh with lots of energy. Pls also look into betaine hcl because sometimes a person can have hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria and that's the reason they don't have heart burn while having a reflux. Also these two conditions can mess up your LES and you start having the problem in the first place. Betaine Hcl has at least gave me a hope and I am able to eat normally now.

@@mattpen7966 Hi matt, I sent you a note earlier today and let you know that I am doing so much better today than 2 months ago! The sodium bicarbonate solution worked wonders!!! I am still using it as needed after eating those things that could possibly cause LPR to flare up again....but...have had none of the major problems I used to have since using Dr. Noar's awesome spray solution. It definitely works and is a life-saver!!! And just to be safe...I also, after eating anything spicy, cheezy or drinking a coke, take 1 tbsp. of Mylanta an hour afterwards so as to neutralize any final stomach acid that may be left behind in the stomach...so, just wanted you to know how much better my life is today and no mucous problems or throat problems since. I can sleep peacefully at night and certainly have stopped the throat clearing that used to be a daily nightmare. Hope you are well on your way, too, in healing!!! Blessings to you! 🙂
Did you do the LINX surgery? I had it done 2 years ago and my GERD is much better and silent reflux went away for almost 2 years but now is back so LINX does not necessarily "fix" silent reflux.
This works!!!! I use this after every meal and night. I also gargle and drink a sip a few times a day. Ive been religious with my diet for a few weeks without results. I'm a worse case scenario. I started to have swallowing issues where I'd cough while eating and felt like I couldn't swallow and losing weight. I have LPR and EOS which was caused from a bad allergy to clindamycin. I am also allergic to PPI meds so I can't take those. I had been taking pepcid, gaviscon and even pepto without relief. The dr even prescribed me carafate and told me its not recommended but may take the edge off. Nothing. I was anxious and depressed and losing a lot of sleep at night waking up choking to death. I slept an average of 30m-1 hr and on a good day maybe once or twice a week I'd get 4 hours sleep. Exhausting. I've spent so much time crying. I was ready for surgery. I aldo drink aloe vera juice in the morning as ive been doing for about a week. You have to he RELIGOUS with this if you want to heal. I've been doing this for 3 days and seeing a 90% + reduction in day time symptoms and a 50% reduction in night time reflux. But im still struggling at night getting to sleep and waking uo choking but im now thinking some of this may actually be a combo of sleep apnea which is very much linked to LPR but not everyone with LPR has apnea. I'm also going for a sleep study and losing weight. You have to be religious in doing this. Eat a mediterannian diet excluding the acid components of tomato/onion etc. Eat Skinless chicken, veggies, fish, oatmeal, nuts, eggs. Less fat, healthier fats like avocodo and small amount of olive oil. Also limit carbs like bread/ rice. Give up chocolate, peanut butter and junk food. No coffee. It can take 3 months of diet and otc/ natural products such as the alkaline water baking soda mixture which helped me more then ANYTHING I've tried. It works. You just have to give it time. It's been days and I'm seeing an improvement..
Hey! My dad just tried this right now. How long was it until you started feeling a difference? I know it will take a few days but did you see/feel any difference on day 1 during the day and night? Thanks!
@@tayabahamayun1119 what nasal spray did you buy? Is it as big as in the demonstration ? Is it possible to spray our nostril if we use cosmetic spray bottle?
I'm currently trying this. I've been dealing with what I'm almost certain is LPR for the last 4+ months. (My journey through doctors has yet to diagnose this, though my PCP suspects it. I'm quite certain.) This started when I got intractable hiccups for six days back in April, which was misery and landed me in the hospital. I've been trying to recover ever since. My symptoms include sore and/or scratchy throat, bad taste in my mouth, coughing, occasional choking on saliva or liquid, hoarseness, etc. No post-nasal drip. I initially bought a small generic bottle of saline, emptied it, and tried to use that, but it shot the water out in more of a stream than a mist. Since I have nothing in my nose, I'm just using a small pressurized plant misting bottle. This does a great job, and I've ordered some small empty misters so I can have something for when I'm on the go. I'm three days in and I've actually had three good days, but I'll reserve judgement until more time passes.
Should also mention that I don't inhale it. My symptoms are up at the top of my throat and in the back of my mouth. So I just blast a big spray into my mouth and then swallow it.
Hi! Just another LPR sufferer here commenting so I can be notified if you ever post updates, extra information, etc. I've kinda been suffering on my own the past year and a half, and I was so scared by some of the first things I read when the initial symptoms started, so I haven't don't much research or outreach to others in the same boat since then, but I think it's time I tried to be a little more proactive about this. Anyway, I sincerely hope it works for you. I tried drinking baking soda water one time (yuck) and it didn't do much for me, but I didn't use high pH water (just store bought spring water), and I didn't add as much baking soda as is suggested in this video. Going to try following the instructions in the video to a T now. Hoping the bicarbonate spray + sodium alginate after meals can make a difference, because Omeprazole and the US formulation of Gaviscon sure haven't.
I'm yet another patient who has received 0 help from the medical community. I feel so neglected and abandoned. After every meal, I have a horrible mucus cough that I feel is respiratory. I don't know what to do anymore, this is devastating. Thank you to the doctor in the video, it helped a little.
Wow. Im 26 and immgoing through this and i gargled with this solution and it worked so quickly. Im so thankful to be growing up in the generation of the internet. I see so many comments of people saying how the have been battling this for 15-30 years. So sad that our doctors and medical research failed us. They would have put me on nexium or some other harmful drugs. I pray everyone finds relief from this. ❤️🙏🏻
It's not that doctors have failed us but priorities lay elsewhere and this is a very difficult problem to diagnose and treat. I had it a couple of years ago, beat it but its back because of a cold. I'm sure the larynx is hypersensitive in our cases so fixing it is a long process.
@@javinash479 Speaking from personal experience I applied these methods: 1. eat no later than 7pm even snacking. 2. eat smaller meals. 3. I’m so happy to find your video Dr. I had Covid in November and following that constant discomfort in throat, vocal cords, lump in throat, tightening in upper chest. I will try this. ENT doc said it is acid reflux, gave a sheet of paper and sent me in my way. Sheet of paper was about diet and avoiding straining voice and throat chest area. No education or dietitian help. Lost a lot of weight on the diet. Since early May 2024. Yet symptoms continue with some improvement. On a PPI, twice a day, concerned about long term problems that might contribute to (weak bones, poor absorption of nutrients) . Will use this to help heal oesophageal area and vocal cords but hope to decrease or get off the med eventually. Will give this a go. Anything I’ve learned about this condition LPR , has been on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dr in a clear consice way 🙏
This worked for me!! I had what felt like a lump under my Adam’s apple for 3 weeks. It progressively got worse to where it was affecting my ability to talk. I was referred to an ENT after my thyroid test came back normal. The ENT did a scope and didn’t see anything abnormal in my throat other than excess saliva in the area I had pain. She diagnosed me with LPR and put me on meds. I don’t think the meds helped but this TH-cam video had me back to normal in 5 days. I ended gargling the mixture instead.
OMG I’m so glad to see this !! They’re exactly my symptoms and the doc has me on proton pump inhibitor but that reduces stomach acid, which I don’t want. Hearing you say it’s a gas makes SO MUCH SENSE, cuz I don’t get esophageal burning etc that I would if it were an acid. THANK YOU!!!
I was struggling for years with a clogged ear and left nostril. This method cleared them in about 3 days. I’ve been gargling the mixture every morning and before bed and have been using the spray about 3 times a day.
I have been working on pursuing the career of my dreams in voiceover after years of reluctance and wouldn’t you know suddenly I’ve developed chronic recurrent throat issues that I’ve come to understand are GERD related. I was put on a wait list for an ETN and have been stuck there for almost a year. Meanwhile my doctor prescribed me an acid blocker and gave me an absurdly long list of foods to avoid. At first the acid blocker was helping and I was not having to be so restrictive on my diet. But now the acid blocker seems to be doing nothing as my symptoms will appear in my throat after almost any meal. I get zero heartburn so it took me a while just to connect this to reflux. I just stumbled onto this video and noticed all the positive comments. The explanation seems quite sound and I am very hopeful that this technique might help save my vocal cords in time for me to record my first demo reel at the end of the month. Fingers crossed. I’ve been really stressed out that now that I finally take this huge leap of faith such a terrible obstacle has appeared before me. Especially considering I never had this before, or atleast I never noticed it.

How is going now? I might have LPR. I’ve seen a ENT but he just recommended taking PPIs but didn’t tell me if it was GERD LPR. Been around 2 months and might give this a try.
Great solution for my LPR. But i had to reduce the concentration to 1 tablespoon per litre instead of 2 because i could feel it was too strong and causing some irritation in the throat. With 1 Tablespoon, its perfect for me.
I wanted to update my previous post of approximately a year ago. Alhtough I believed this video to provide me with relief, I have since determined that my problem with shortness of breath is caused by adult onset asthma. I wanted to take the time to correct my post. I am now taking an inhaler (Arnuity) daily and daily doses of Montelukast (Singulair) and have been for the last 9 months or so. All of my symptoms below were gone within days. Long story short, after continued visits to various ENTs, I was told there was no way acid reflux (silent or otherwise) could affect the lungs without some indication on the vocal chords, because whatever goes into the lungs must pass this part of the throat. I ended up back at my pulmonologist who by this time suspected asthma and prescribed teh above. I've been breathing normally ever since, and only have an occasional flare up of acid reflux. I'm now convinced that these two conditions were separate and apart from one another. I was desperately trying to self diagnose. I hope you are all well and find help with your personal conditions.
@@frstnmlstnm8484 I don't think I had LPR at all (endoscopy showed no damage to my esophagus) and never had asthma ever, but I do get acid reflux occasionally if I do something stupid like drink and eat chocolate cake or other sweets in excess before I go to bed at night (shouldn't do this anyway. I'm 56). When I did discuss the method with my doctors, they gave no response or other opinion other than to look at me like I had found something crackpot on TH-cam. I don't believe there is any widespread support at all of this procedure in the medical field. I can say that I honestly believed it temporarily helped my symptoms while doing it, but don't know why and can't confirm its effectiveness with any MD anywhere.
Did you get tested for asthma? I was told I had asthma for years but it was actually LPR. I believe many people who've been told they have adult onset cough variant asthma actually have LPR. Asthma meds did not help me much.
I discovered that there is too much chorine in the tap water of my city. It was making my reflux and digestive issues much worse. I had to buy a shower filter with charcoal. I also bought similar filter for the tap water in the kitchen. As I am not young, my digestion situation is improving, but only very slowly. I am also trying the idea in this video (when i remember). Many thanks.
Neutralise the pepsin in your throat twice daily by inhaling alkaline water from a facial streamer. It works brilliantly! I have tried everything and done a huge amount of research into LPR over the years.
Just stumbled on this video and tried it for the first time this evening after 3,5 years of suffering and not finding the cause of my problems. For the first time in weeks I feel comfortable again and I am not coughing. I will now use this treatment on a regular basis as well as follow all the other advice on LPR to see if I can finally beat this thing. If it works I will want to give Dr Noar a huge hug!!
Been dealing with what I suspect is silent reflux for a few months now with no official diagnosis from the ent who’s has me on a third different med. it’s amazing looking at the comment section and seeing how much this seems to work for people. I guess I’m picking up some alkaline water and baking soda when I get off work
I hope this works. I can’t sleep. I was placed in an induced coma years ago and I remember being asked constantly how my throat was feeling. That is my memory of when I started having throat issues 16 years ago. Tonight, I have been up coughing out clear sticky phlegm. I also clear my throat all day long and I have visited many docs, had the barium test done at the emergency room and visited with a specialist who told me to take Pepcid. It has been so many years of this. You are essentially my last hope.
I just got my first bottle going. Instant relief and would recommend to all suffering from LPR. ENT doctor diagnosed me with it and have me those acid blocker pills. The problem isn't acid, its pepsim. I've had symptoms for 6 months and the only only thing that gives relief is cepacol. I believe this solution along with a diet change should hopefully fully relieve my problem.
I have been to different doctors and they diagnosed me with gerd , but I honestly think I have lpr I been feeling this sensation for 1 1/2 years. I’m going to try this. Wish me luck.
If your worried about pathogens. Use Bottled water its sterile. It doesn't matter if its distilled or purified. Just don't forget to keep your solution fresh and the container clean. I personally would make a new solution daily, because even with the addion of baking soda the water activity will still be high for bacteria growth, which grows exponentially over a short period. For purified bottled water there are several filtration steps most importantly reverse osmosis, and before the water is bottled its treated with ozone. High alkaline water processing is mostly the same, although there is additional steps to increase the pH. Typically through electrolysis. Also keep in mind that the pH range for distilled and purified water is 5 to 7 pH. This is a regulatory requirement. Thus its actually slightly acidic. Which is why the doctor recommends alkaline water.
This sounds like exactly my problem. Constant drainage and gunk in my throat, as well as some fluid in my ear from time to time. Will give this a try, as no doctors have been able to help
@@henriettesteffensen5659 Hi! Yes, I think it helps with my symptoms. I don’t have ear pain any more. I also think in my case it’s not because of silent reflux but from allergen like mold in the house. I am getting rid of it and feeling way better. Hopefully you’ll get better as well.
@@MegaUtube99 Hi! I am still having post nasal drip but not big as was before. I am still looking for other solutions to completely get rid of it. I also found out that ginger and lemon work great to reduce the mucus.
Hi ybiza, did this work for your ear pain? My ear is clogged and pain. Had ears checked out and they all say they are fine. Doctors and Ents have been no help. :( I hope your doing well. Thank You
Thank you so much for this information. Would doing gargles with alkaline water and sodium bicarbonate do the same as spraying ? (of course talking about the throat symptoms)
This has been super helpful for me. Question: can you store the mixture at room temperature, or should it be refrigerated? Does it last a long time or should you make a new mix after a certain amount of time?
No expert on this but if your using a water based solution I'd imagine the biggest issue is bacterial growth in the water. Refrigeration will slow this process but I'd not use solution more than a few days old.
@@zz5aa Especially if you're putting it in your nose. I would wipe dry the nozzle after every use and put it in the fridge and not use the same solution more than 5 days.
@@zz5aa all nasal sprays you get on the market are water based as well . they contain purified water just like alklaine water is, As long as you dont contaminate the water it should be fine.
Thank you so much doctor, since a year I was struggling from these symptoms, I went to various doctors but they couldn't tell what problem I have then after researching I myself found out that I've lpr , I m using this spray since few days and I m really relieved I m feeling much more healthy ❤️ thank u for this video ❤❤❤
I tested it and it indeed brings relief. I put that solution into a nebulizer and did a few minutes inhalation. What a relief. Now, once the water is mixed with the baking soda in the spraying bottle, can it be stored there for some longer time? Or do I have to prepare the solution each day? I'm concerned about bacteria growth in it.
@@mindy73k I use Philips InnoSpire Elegance, but you may use any one. However, I don’t use baking soda anymore, as after some time it started to irritate my airways. Or you can do it just for a few seconds, just to alkalize the larynx. I found a much better solution. I read about Ectoine and it occurs there are studies proving it works a treat for your larynx. And it really does. I do inhalations twice a day, brings a lot of relief and doesn’t irritate at all. Here in Poland it is called Ectodose and it is sold in ready made ampules for inhalations. You can read a study called: „Topical Ectoine: A Promising Molecule in the Upper Airways Inflammation-A Systematic Review”. One extract says: “Regarding individual symptoms evaluated by physicians ectoine was more effective than hyaluronic acid in ameliorating the symptom of reddening of the larynx.” Hyaluronic acid solutions are also good for inhalations. But diet is the most important thing. No eating 4 hours before the bedtime, and eating alkaline foods only!!!! so as not to activate pepsin in the airways while eating.
Just saw this warning: "Alkaline water does help some people with mild LPR manage their symptoms, especially for those that previously consumed a lot of carbonated and/or acidic beverages. However, it provides only minimal and short term buffering capacity and only to acid/pepsin on the mucosal surface. The protease inhibitors are much more potent inhibitors of pepsin, they bind to the pepsin enzyme and inactivate it. They will also inactivate intracellular pepsin. Moreover, I do not recommend anyone use a spray bottle with water and/or baking soda for risk of infection from non-sterile water and damage from bicarbonate which would likely be caustic to the throat/nose with repeated exposure. Strong alkaline solutions are equally damaging to mucosa as acidic solutions."
PPI’S will only work on the stomach. This method is to help the throat or nasal areas…… I tried PPI’S , nothing happened. The side effects from them also worried me. I came off them. More dangerous than a bit of alkaline water or bicarbonate…….
This is actually helping me. I gargle with baking soda three times a day. Will also get a spray bottle. Hopefully with that and exercise and a great diet it will go away.
@@m8jin12 I’ve had a setback. My lpr went away for two days then came back with a vengeance. Going to try the following: 1)alkaline diet 2) baking soda gargle four times a day 3) aloe vera couple times a day 4) pepcid complete, It seems like as soon as I start eating acidic foods I regress.
I was skeptical at first but I think the solution does provide some relief to my voice issues. Except I need a bigger frequency and quantity of spraying than what he seems to suggest in order to get some relief. I hope I wont have long term side effects.
This is great. Going to try this and tell my mom. We've both been finding relief from baking soda in water so I believe this will help even more. Thank you.

Can' wait to try this. About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with LPR via 24 hour Ph Monitoring and an endoscopy. Also my voice was shot and I couldnt speak anymore and lost much of my vocal range. Throat docs looked at me and told me my vocal cords were fine. Went to voice therapists who had a high speed video camera and they saw a pair of severely damaged vocal cords -- they said if I wasnt put on a PPI and got voice therapy soon I would lose my voice or worse. I went on Nexium but the Army is not one to support Nexium for long so I was on and off and off and on but the Nexium did help. But the symptoms always came back after going off Nexium. At the same time I was diagnosed with this I was also found to have emphysema despite clear CT scans and one of the fastest 2 miles run times in my division of 17,000 soldiers. Years later I was tested again and fond to have moderate emphysema by lung function test but still ha a VO2 Max of 50 which is excellent and a 2 mile run time of about 14 minutes (not bad for a 50 year old). Anyway, the docs took me off Nexium just because and my throat went down hill and I couldnt get more than a few worst out before running out of breath (proving emphysema to be right) but also running and biking and lifting like a NCAA athlete. I am going to try this. My main symptoms of LPR/Emphysema is I cant speak comfortably anymore. I dont know if severe LPR can cause lung function issues or not but it is worth a try. By the way I tested my VO2 max at the gym today using Bruce protocol and I went for 16 minutes on the treadmill at 16% incline and 5.2 MPH. My knees couldnt take any more so I ramped down to 10% and 4.2 MPH for the next 30 minutes.
I just found this and I pray it helps, I'm in a bad way at the moment. Getting burning all the way to my tounge sometimes, and its relentless 24/7. Very interesting everyone is talking about breathing difficulties as I have had a weird breathing problem for like 10+ years on and off. Now I'm convinced its linked to this LPR/GERD problem. When I get it, its like I can't get a proper breath, and its like I need to be able to do a sort of yawn/sigh to reset it. Then when its really bad I can't do this often enough but keep trying and failing to get this 'proper' breath, and it makes me go a bit dizzy.
@@bddybdz I tried it and it seemed to help momentarily but didn't really help. I found gargling with the mixture worked better, but overall I feel like perhaps it just made it worse. Now this could be because I was inadvertent swallowing some of the mixture, and so acting as an antacid in my stomach, and I have found in the long run that antacids just make things worse.
Has anyone definitely had clogged ears from Lpr/Silent reflux? I am tired of just guessing but I see some people have mentioned this. Also, have you come across anything that works to unclog them? I am asking this again hoping I will have others reply with information, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH. Blessings
I struggle with this, as well as sore throat, lump in throat, sour taste and throat clearing... I believe they are all related to lpr. Extremely annoying
Ive had LPR issues since 2008. Then, in 2016- 2019 I moved to Portland Oregon, and for 3 years I had no LPR symptoms. Diet, exercise and weight and.job stress were unchanged. Diet was actually quite terrible. I was able to quit taking PPIs for 3 years with no LPR Symptoms. Later, three months after moving away from Portland, symptoms returned. Now I have found this trick, and it works. I really have to wonder if there is sodium bicarbonate in the municipal water supply in Portland, or if something about the water there kept me symptom free. I wonder if disease rates for LPR are lower in Porand than the rest of the country.
Thank you doctor for providing such a good video. I have been troubled by LPR for three years. I hope the doctor can help me. Thank you very much. 1. I always rinse my mouth with baking soda water (in the morning, after three meals, and before going to bed). Will this hurt the throat wall? I only drink a little bit of baking soda water. I think the pH value of baking soda water is Only 9, it should not hurt the throat wall. Is this correct? Thank you!
OH MY GOODNESS. If this works I will literally be the happiest person on planet earth! I've had a really sore throat, hoarse voice, overproduction of mucus and tiny spots on my throat after having tonsillitis. I've been struggling with LPR for 1 year. I was asking God what to do and felt him say to do more research. I just found this. I've made my spray bottle so I will update you if it works so that I can work and sing professionally again!
@@_worksonmymachine hey, because I have a reflux spot I couldn't use it, because it stung. But it felt fine for my stomach. What works for me is drinking homemade celery juice each morning. It reduces my reflux and is healing my stomach lining. I get no heartburn/indigestion when I drink it.
I tried the spray for two days--it actually made my voice worse, I felt it burned my mouth. The doctor doesn't say how long to store or how to store the solution. I used 9.5 alkaline water (1liter) with 2 tbsp of baking soda like he said. I felt that was an awful lot of water for a small bottle's worth--I had a small (1 oz) spray bottle that I used. I've started melatonin 3mg every night and DGL Licorice for about a week, I think that is helping but the melatonin has to be taken for at least 30 days. I also started sleeping on my left side. In my research I found that many women start getting LPR and GERD during perimenopause/menopause --the drop in estrogen/progesterone weakens the sphincter at the top of the stomach. I think I fall into this category, I was diagnosed by my ENT with LPR about 4 months ago.
@@Robroy11976 I'm taking 3mg of meletonin at night and the DGL after meals for about 2.5 weeks now. There is a definite improvement. I'm also sleeping on my left side. Diet wise I really don't eat any of the 'trigger' foods to begin with. The only thing I changed was taking out my one lousy cup of coffee that I use to have in the morning. I now drink chicory in its place.
Is the Melatonin (3mg) and DGL working? I am also on both of these (for 10 days now) and also take Vitamin D(weekly) and Vitamin B-complex daily. Having LPR for 2.5 months now. Doc suggested PPI's 20gm 3 times a day for a month, then 2 times a day for next two months and then 1 times for one month. I am now on PPI's/2 times a day and also on the supplements for past 10 days. Didn't see any improvement yet after taking those supplements. But over all symptoms down by 20%. Diet till now is avoiding trigger foods (tea, coffee, tomato, mint, onion (raw),garlic (raw),soda, citrus fruits and the most difficult one alcohol ). Please let me know if the supplements worked for you. Don't know how i got this in first place but it was during a stressful week.
I have been suffering horribly with what i suspect is LPR/Silent reflux. I constantly burp, Have a sensation of a something stuck right behind my tonsils/Top of throat, I sometimes get random pains in my chest, Sometimes i will burp up real acidic tasting crap, Burp up bits of food. But the NUMBER ONE most disturbing symptom I have is a sensation that I cannot get a satisfying breath. I have been dealing with this for a very long time but it was somewhat masked with my excessive cannabis use. I have had bloodwork/ECG and Multiple tests done in the past whilst suffering with this but everything came back normal. I recently quit cannabis completely and the symptoms are bothering me a lot now. I'm 29 years old and I haven't been especially kind to my body, Excessive coffee, Sodas, Junk Food, Eating late at night. I used to be overweight but now im at a healthy weight. Since i quit cannabis 2 weeks ago I also cut my coffee intake to just 1 decaf coffee a day from 5/6 caffeinated coffees, I've had 1 or 2 sodas and a couple of beers. I've been eating lots of fruit and veg and overall trying my hardest to be as kind to my body as I can. I really want to solve this issue. I am so miserable over the shortness of breath that i cannot concentrate on anything. I have an amazing supportive wife and 2 beautiful young children who I just want to give the best life to and I want get better for them and myself. The first thing I have tried is Omeprazole 20mg over the counter Yesterday and after 30 mins I noticed I could breathe a little bit better, Not perfectly by any means but the difference was noticable for sure. I thought it might have been a placebo effect so I did not take it today until I had a couple of slices of mild cheddar cheese (Which I now know is high in fat and a trigger for a lot of people) Low and behold an hour later I was finding myself struggling to breathe again (I do not have an allergy to cheese, I am lactose intolerant. I stay away from lactose as much as i can but sometimes treat myself lol) So i took another 20mg omeprazole and I felt relief roughly 30 mins to an hour later (again not perfect but noticibly better). I know i probably need to follow a low acid diet but I'm a little overwhelmed and anxious about all this. Is there someone out there who could point me in the right direction and give me some tips on trying to manage/overcome this.
Hey brother, these are quite literally my exact symptoms. I am also 29. Also quit smoking cannabis because of this. Would absolutely LOVE to hear how you are getting on these days. Thanks for any time you take to respond to us in the same boat desperate for some sort of relief. thanks brother
Hello RefluxDoc, there is a lot of advise on the net about the LPR and other reflux, but this one is so rare and yet it hits the nail on the head, well clarified, Thank You Very Much, one question, with the inhaling the solution, is there no concern about getting it into the lungs Regards
I can't wait to try this. Is there a possibility of long-term adverse effects from the baking soda? From too much sodium being absorbed or anything like that? Could it be bad for the lungs? Thanks in advance!
How long can 1 liter last with 2 Tbs of baking soda last before you have to replace it? Is it supposed to smell bad? And is it still ok to use at that point??
las vegas player No I haven’t had any problems breathing. I was staying at a hotel while I was looking for a home to buy. At first it wasn’t a problem. However after staying there for many months with a cat and dog in that small studio room I think that I became stressed and of course I was breathing all of the cat and dog hair. The coronavirus also raised my stress level .I just need to eat healthy. I certainly don’t need to eat before going to bed..I am a home now so I am breathing fresh air .thank goodness
Should we be gargling with this or just let it go down the throat. I don’t have that mist bottle but I have a bottle with a bigger hole. Don’t want to get too much of it if I’m not supposed to. Thank u
I have basically self diagnosed LPR with lots of throat gurgling. I saw someone else mention this, tried it and it reduced symptoms almost immediately. Then, I forgot about it and the gurgling returned. I wondered if the Thieves mouthwash I had would work, and lo and behold, it does!

Don't use tap water, as per FDA: Tap water isn’t safe for use as a nasal rinse because it’s not adequately filtered or treated. Some tap water contains low levels of organisms - such as bacteria and protozoa, including amoebas - that may be safe to swallow because stomach acid kills them. But in your nose, these organisms can stay alive in nasal passages and cause potentially serious infections. They can even be fatal in some rare cases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Are you supposed to do this with regular pH water or are you supposed to mix pH water with baking soda because I tried this with alkaline water mixed with baking soda and a team to make my symptoms worse. It seems like just drinking regular pH water with a pH level of 8 or higher seems to help more
I wrote about a year ago about how this video has changed my life.

Carrie Rosales: Do you know what is the difference between spraying bicarb into your throat versus gargling with baking soda?
Everything the doctor mentioned on his video , I had this issue really bad, in the last 3 days .
I was in pain with sinuses, ears, throat , and now I lost my voice . I thought I had a COLD , it's similar in ways.
Thank you all for your help , I appreciate anyone who's devoted helping others, especially when their G.I.

It's so nice when doctors go out of their way to help people with true solutions, no pun intended! Thank you, Dr. Noar, and God bless you and yours. ❤

On to the next customer... excuse me... patient.
I have had the same exact issues you have for the past 6 months. Please let me know if this worked for you and helps cure your symptoms.

But after trying this simple and very easy procedure last night before going to bed, I awoke this morning already noticing a significant difference!!! Thank you Dr. Noar for giving me a new lease on life!
This really works. I used a very fine mist sprayer for my throat. It can be purchased very inexpensively and what a difference! Thank you RefluxDoc.
Thanks!

What were your symptoms ? Did it help a lot?

Interesting. Thanks

How is it going ?
I have the same issue. It's so annoying. I'm going to try this. Let's pray we both get better.
Never give up!! You will pull through and we all will find the proper solution one day you just gotta believe. It will be hard but it will be worth it
Whats your update to this
I just got my first bottle going.
How do u store the solution
Finally someone listened and gets it. It's PEPSIM that's the culprit. But it lodges itself in your tissues so you have to help it get out.
It worked!!!! Thank god.....I went months with phlegm in my throat and 2 days with baking soda and ph 10 water....it is all gone 💪💪💪 Thanks
Did you have gerd/LPR?
How many times per day do you do?
Need a follow up and etc thanks 🙂
I don’t understand how you’re supposed to breathe in water,won’t you choke/drown/cough?
May I ask how much baking soda you mix with ph 10 water?
I have been to different doctors and they diagnosed me with gerd , but I honestly think I have lpr I been feeling this sensation for 1 1/2 years. I’m going to try this. Wish me luck.

How are u now? Did it work?
How are you now?? Did this work??
Can i use Normal water instead of alkaline water?
This sounds like exactly my problem. Constant drainage and gunk in my throat, as well as some fluid in my ear from time to time. Will give this a try, as no doctors have been able to help

@@henriettesteffensen5659 Hi! Yes, I think it helps with my symptoms. I don’t have ear pain any more. I also think in my case it’s not because of silent reflux but from allergen like mold in the house. I am getting rid of it and feeling way better. Hopefully you’ll get better as well.

@@johnshera3935 Yes, but all nasal sprays on the market have preservatives in them. This solution should be replaced every few days

What nebulizer do you use?
Ok

Is alkaline water bad?
how do you remove the pepsin then?:((

PPI’S will only work on the stomach. This method is to help the throat or nasal areas…… I tried PPI’S , nothing happened. The side effects from them also worried me. I came off them. More dangerous than a bit of alkaline water or bicarbonate…….

This is actually helping me. I gargle with baking soda three times a day. Will also get a spray bottle. Hopefully with that and exercise and a great diet it will go away.
Hi, any updates, I'm thinking of trying the gargling with baking soda idea
@@m8jin12 I’ve had a setback. My lpr went away for two days then came back with a vengeance. Going to try the following: 1)alkaline diet 2) baking soda gargle four times a day 3) aloe vera couple times a day 4) pepcid complete, It seems like as soon as I start eating acidic foods I regress.
Both times I’ve had LPR were after the same sinus infections. Took me 8 months ti get rid of it last time, been 2 months so far.

I know what you mean about the relentlessness of this.... It's taken over my life over the last month. I'm going to try this doctor's solution!

@@bddybdz I tried it and it seemed to help momentarily but didn't really help. I found gargling with the mixture worked better, but overall I feel like perhaps it just made it worse. I have heard it can aggravate the ears since the whole system is all connected but get checked for wax because I had that at the same time as LPR.
I've had clogged ears my whole life, but I believe it is from my allergies. Not sure if LPR has anything to do with it.
I struggle with this, as well as sore throat, lump in throat, sour taste and throat clearing... I believe they are all related to lpr. Extremely annoying
I have ear pain/pressure burning feeling along with throat pain is that what you mean?
Fascinating.

Don't use tap water, as per FDA:
Tap water isn’t safe for use as a nasal rinse because it’s not adequately filtered or treated.
Im not in a medical field or something. But this is common sense.
you can boil the water then let it cool down right?
