    #5 is apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar sounds counterintuitive as a supplement for acid reflux since it is acidic in nature, but many people notice if helps take their reflux away. Apple cider vinegar can help get acid levels to the right level within the stomach, thereby improving acid reflux. Aside from helping with digestion, apple cider vinegar has several other benefits such as regulating blood sugar, boosting the immune system and breaking up kidney stones. You should avoid taking apple cider vinegar active ulcer or gastritis as the acid may cause irritation.
    #4 is probiotics. Probiotics are living microorganisms that can be found in certain foods and supplements. Probiotics will help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in your gut, which can help prevent acid reflux. Research has shown that probiotics may specifically help reduce the symptoms of acid reflux disease. An 2020 analysis publish in the journal Nutrients reviewed 13 studies on the effects of probiotics on acid reflux, concluding that probiotics were effective for helping managing symptoms of reflux such as stomach pain, heartburn, regurgitation and more.
    Number 3 is ginger. Ginger can help reduce inflammation and soothe the stomach. It can be consumed in a variety of forms, including fresh, dried, and powdered. Ginger can also be used to lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar and act as a blood thinner, but discuss the use of ginger with your healthcare provider if you take medications for any of these conditions. Consuming large amounts of ginger can actually make heartburn worse.
    Number 2 is betaine HCL with pepsin. Betaine HCl with Pepsin helps supplement stomach acid production, which can improve the breakdown of food and reduce symptoms of acid reflux or indigestion. It is important to note that Betaine HCl with Pepsin is not suitable for everyone, particularly people with ulcers or other digestive issues. It is not meant to be used while taking antacid medications, which are meant to decrease acid production in the stomach.
    Supplement Number 1 is zinc L-carnosine. One of the most well-known benefits of zinc L-carnosine is its ability to support gastrointestinal health. Studies have shown that zinc carnosine can help promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria, reduce inflammation in the gut, and improve the integrity of the gut lining. These benefits may help alleviate symptoms of digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Taking zinc l-carnosine can help restore the protective mucous barrier in your digestive tract, and several studies have shown promising benefits for symptoms of acid reflux disease.
    In order to make these supplements more effective, it can be helpful to make other changes in your diet. The first change to make is reducing consumption of fatty foods. Why does fatty food cause reflux? Fatty foods, especially those that are fried, greasy, or oily, will relax the lower esophageal sphincter and allow stomach contents back into the esophagus. This unfortunately includes acid from the stomach which will burn the lining of the esophagus, leading to symptoms of heartburn. Reducing the amount of fatty foods in your diet may be one of the most helpful changes you can make.
    In addition, it may be wise to cut back on caffeine. After we consume caffeine, it stimulates our stomach to secrete more acid.
    Next up is chocolate. Chocolate contains compounds such as methylxanthines and theobromine which relax the muscles of the esophageal sphincter, similar to fatty foods.
    Cutting out carbonated beverages can be quite helpful as well. This includes sodas, diet sodas, even carbonated water. These drinks will effect the lower esophageal sphincter
    Other foods to consider cutting out are spicy foods, peppermint, mint and acidic foods such as citrus fruits and tomatoes.
    To complete our discussion, lets finish with the most helpful lifestyle changes to improve heartburn. In addition to the foods we mentioned, weight loss can be very beneficial for reflux.
    If you get symptoms at night, avoid eating 2-3 hours before bed to give your body time to digest the food.

    Foods to eat ACV mixed with water, Probiotics (Fermented foods, Kimchi, Yoghurt, Kumbukchu, Sourkraut) Ginger Root, Butaine HCL with Pepsin, but not suitable for people with ulcers, Zinc L-Carnosine Complex.

      I found raw ripe fresh organic alkaline produce the most healing. Grains, dairy and eggs, fish and meat all cause inflammation same as nightshade plants and some other items.

    No guys… I had very bad reflux after a expensive endoscope…. and my GI doctor said it’s just something that happens when you get older. So I had to take meds. But…. 2 years later when I decided to lose weight. I stop eating fast food. Guess what I figured out? It’s Greasy Foods!!!!! Why wouldn’t my doc say this? I haven’t taken pills in 2 years and never had an episode until I started taking a bunch of vitamins without food.

      Because they want to make money of your misery thats why they wont tell you they want you on meds.. doctors and pharmaceuticals go together and they just want their profits they dont care about anyone but their pockets.. processed foods is major culprit.. diets are the biggest factor in all our health

      So yes and not no!
      He said obesity is one cause and obesity is caused by heavy metal toxicity, parasites or bad diet.
      If you have a look online, it gives you all the foods and habits that lead to acid reflux like onions, oranges, cacao, coffee, fatty things and meat and grains, especially when everything is mixed badly.
      Read instructions on vitamin bottles if they need to be taken with food. Zinc can cause nausea for example.

      🎈Please check your gallbladder. From what you mentioned, it sounds like your gallbladder is having trouble processing the fatty foods. This stops the release of bile from the gallbladder for digestion. This causes bile sludge and gall stones. Acid reflux is a byproduct. Please get an ultrasound and check your gallbladder. You can also get a HIDA scan to check.
      The stones can be dissolved, so don't remove it even if dr. suggest it. Good luck! ❤❤

    I have stomach inflammation from aspirin i have to take after heart bypass surgery. This was found during endoscopy. My gastro doctor switched me from pepcid to pantazole which works fine!

    I have been facing this issue for almost a year now and also dry mouth. I first thought it is from mouth so I got my teeth cleaned and the dentist assured me that it will cure the bad breath but it didn’t. I have gerd issues but that is normal from a while and i also think i have sinus because i usually have running nose when i get up and a kind of irritation in nose. At work I have to talk to many people and it kills my confidence when they rub their nose. I just forget what i was talking about and it is creating problems for me. I brush my teeth twice a day. Eat chewing gums entire day and keep my mouth hydrated by drinking water yet this shit isn't going away. until I meant Dr Emovon on TH-cam.     Very good and rather complete information.
    I add, rather lift the whole upper part of the bed instead of adding pillows to stay straight and lie on your left side to avoid acid from coming up.
    Or simply eat 4 to 6 hours before you go to bed, ideally.
    Earing befote lying down promotes weight gain. It's what sumo ringers do!

    Good overview helping mitigate acid reflux but I would add DGL (Deglycyrhizinated liquorice) to the list. Chewing a tablet 20 minutes before meals helps immensely.

    Thank u Dr. Mike. I have acid reflux every time take fatty foods. My doctor advice me to avoid eating fatty foods,he advice me to eat 1 banana n1 Fuji apple every day. 1 apple after lunch n 1 banana after dinner n it works for me. Try this guys it may work also to u if you have acid reflux.

    When you taking Hplori medicine you have to take with lot of food to flash out the bacteria les food medicine will no work also sometimes you need to repeat the course 3/4 times

    I have been suffering from terrible heartburn and belching (not sure if acid reflux and/or GERD are the same) since last year when I was tested positive for H. Pylori. I got treated for the bacteria but the symptoms never really went away. My doctors insist in giving me antiacids but I don't want to, after doing so much research. I also suffer from IBS, so I don't want to neutralize my enzymes and make my IBS flare ups worse. I read about apple cider vinegar but I haven't seen any results. If anyone had any success, can you please share how long it took before you see any results? I don't want to give up on the apple cider vinegar yet but I am really miserable. I know there is also Betaine hydrochloride pills but Apple Cider vinegar is more affordable :-( Thank you for any feedback!

      My wife and I ate red apple delicious and Fuji apple fruits for a few days to get rid of acid reflux. It worked for us and the reflux never came back.

      Sleep on your left side. It helps to keep food in your stomach. Sleeping on your right side allows food to go back into your esophagus. Also don’t lie down for at least 3 hours after eating.

    I have functional dyspepsia leading to gerd like symptoms. I’ve tried some of the tips here. Hcl helped. just resumed probiotic. Just commenced zinc L carnosine. Should consider improving bile flow. Just as lecithin.

      I have the same issue . Doctors NURSE assistant said it’s a smaller one , but I almost always tell her it feels like my diaphragm is attached to my stomach and causing my issues.. it’s so annoying like I just go to fret refill scripts and new tests to see what’s changed or going on . Now it will probably flare up after an upper endoscopy

    Hello, good day.
    Please i have a terrible reflux disease whereby terrible gas from my stomach flows out through my breathing and its choking people close to me same way police tear gas does.

    If acid reflux is caused by a lack of acid, why do all the videos tell you to avoid tomatoes and citrus fruits? Based on the recommendation to consume ACV to increase acid, why not also consume tomatoes and citrus which are also acid?

    Apple Cider vinegar diluted with water is so weak an acid that it has zero effect on Stomach acid . If it cures Gerd, some other process is at work!
