The AMG GTS is also my favourite car, but the LC500 would live until I’m dead and then some more! I mainly fell in love with this car based on its looks but even more in Gran Turismo 7, it sounds so great and actually handles very well with its weight granting it insane grip in high speed corners. Low speed corners also feel tight and a bit slippery with acceleration, there’s no understeer! It is just a game after all but if I can get an LC500 to drive just like it does in Gran Turismo 7, I’m set for life.

Terrific review. Thank you. I love you guys. I own a 2021 LC500 hard top with white exterior and caramel (tree) interior. The sound NEVER gets old. The car is ultra reliable. And there are less than 15,000 in existence and soon no more will be made. Beautiful to look at and drive. Indeed, the perfect car.
I’ve driven both the coupe and convertible, and while i prefer the looks of the coupe, the roof line etc. The convertible makes up for that with that symphonic V8, the open air, and top down, you forgot everything. The compliments are non stop, not to mention, it’s so rare, most people don’t even know what it is. This vehicle is basically your weekend morning meeting with the psychologist. Get in the seat, drive and the vehicle listens and gives the best advise through it tones, and leave feeling to tackle life with a smile and gratitude.
Anyone else on edge the last 2 minutes or so not knowing when it’ll end and so delighted that it went on for just a little bit more savoring the pure smiles and enjoyment?
They are beautiful to look at and fantastic to drive. I could not afford an LC500 but I do have a IS500 and I smile every time I drive it and hear that lovely engine talking back. Keep the reviews coming guys!
So great to see you two all smiles about this marvelously underrated car! Coming up on four years with my 2018 LC500 and I absolutely get it. I am sure my fellow car-comrades are tired of my praises of just how wonderful the car is, it just encompasses it all as you mentioned; the perfect balance of comfort, reliability, beautiful design, symphonic V8 noises, and amazing gas mileage on road trips (I typically see 30-33mpg hwy). Refreshing to be only car of it's sorts at car meets too. I'm not one to typically keep cars too long but there is something so very special about the LC500. Thanks for the quick review and smiles! 👍😉
That's awesome it gets such good highway mpg. Im waiting on the market to get down to the mid 50s with these, then im pulling the trigger. Im so excited
How is it one of the greatest reviews ever?? Just a simple Extra Throttle House video but it is the most beautiful and sincere love confession to a car I’ve heard. They looked like the happiest people on earth at that moment. And the ending... 😂😂 Guys, you’re the best!
The design is reminiscent of days gone by..when beautiful lines, we're more priority.. and that V8..just sings a fantastic tune.. Truly a work of automotive art..
I think this has been and and still is one of the best sounding, best finished and most beautiful cars at any price point on sale at the moment. I have a 90s sports car and this is the only contemporary car at all that would get me to change
I'm 19 years old and honestly, if I had 100k to spend on a car, I would think more about this LC. It seems perfect as a daily drive, fast but not extreme, with a scary sound and its reliable. Not to mention the external and internal style, and the overall uniqueness of the car on the new market
I fondly remember this similar sound in 2005-7 of an Audi R/S car. The Lexus shown in this video is absolutely stunning in looks and sound. Lucky boys!!
My 75 year old grandfather absolutely loves this car. I’ve been in one with him at a car show and I really hope he splurges to buy one since it’s the perfect blend between his Lexus sedan and his 95 Mustang GT convertible.
Honestly, I love all these new super fast high end vehicles, but when i do see this driving around, it does turn my head when I see it. I miss you LFA....
A very under appreciated car. I own a '21 convertible and it is glorious. What an amazing, beautiful vehicle. Don't care for the new screen that looks tacked on. Ruins the beautiful interior of mine.
I wish there were more reviews of the IS500 not complaining about how old the thing is and just focusing on what it's like. Same engine for half the price and you get 4 doors. An exhaust and it's there.
I've owned a '21 LC500 convertible and now own a '24 bespoke LC500 convertible. I've also driven the RC-F and IS500 at Lexus' performance driving school, which is an excellent event for seat-time-per-dollar. You're absolutely right about the IS500. Such a great car and the price is unbelievable. The GS-F is better for a few reasons, probably not worth the extra price to most people. And the LC is a body kit and a valved exhaust. As with IS-F's, the IS500 will hold its value unbelievably well. I think these LC's will eventually appreciate and become collector's items, but the IS500 will always be the cheap way to get this amazing engine.
The issue with the IS500 is the transmission. If it had the 10 speed in the LC500 I would have bought it. I owned an ISF before I test drove the IS500. I'm over the transmission, it makes the car feel lazy to me. I think the 10 speed in the LC, while not perfect(there are a few low speed scenarios it doesn't handle smoothly), it light years ahead in immediacy and box office.
Sorry but only social credit warriors care about old and new stuff. For me as a car enthusiast, my heart is very pleased to see LC500 continuing in the next year.
@@hamsterbrigade The transmission is absolutely amazing. Has a dual personality. Sharp when you push it, soft when you are cruising. Better than ZF8 for a luxury sport car.

This is probably my favorite car in the reasonable realm. Good, looking, great engine, gorgeous interior. I'm not the most sporty driver, I love cruising, driving top-down and looking at my car from the window. If I had been born 10 years earlier...apart from a monumental crisis right at the beginning of my career, I would have close to buying this
It makes me really sad that this car will gain traction and it's price will become marked up. This right here is my (realistic) dream car except the hard top not the convertible. Absolute beauty!
If I was old (which I am) and wanted a grand tourer for long distance, this is the car. Since I'm young at heart and heavily leveraged, EN's doesn't fail to put a smile on my face. Was fun doing burn outs in Lexus's was bay and donuts in the parking lot, but it's a boat in the snow.
Being old is fine. Just make sure you are aware of your environment when driving. too many of you old guys out there in oblivion driving everywhere you go...

40% off msrp on a 5 year old luxury car is not a good deal unless you've only been buying used cars since 2020. In the 2010's it was normal to see depreciation of 80% after 4 years, and luxury cars take it worse than any other type.
@@allnovieveryday 🤓🤓🤓 better than losing 40k buying a new one lmao I understand what you mean, but I mean for a modern v8 luxury coupe it’s a good price point
This is exactly the type of car that in 15 years will have an incredible fervor surrounding it. Looks great, sounds great, quality interior, and Lexus reliability. It's just a well balanced performance oriented GT car. I've looked at these a few times as they're in a fairly similar price range to the M4 Competition. I'm in my 30's so the performance focus of the M-car speaks more to me, but I bet when I'm in my 50's I will look back and wish I bought LC500.
I’m 29 and plan on getting the bespoke edition. You throw rims, a tint and a small spoiler on this thing and it’s a crazy looking car. The exhaust is impossible to beat as well.
The intense enthusiasm for the car is evident even before riding inside it, unlike the review of the Mercedes SL 63, where any flaw was sought to highlight.
Same! Went with a C8 Z51 instead. Not to say I won't have an LC500 in the future, but it will be super hard to give up the mid-engine goodness and face melting launches.
Thomas and James' commentary was spot ON... I think the best car to compare the experience to is a sensible man's Aston Martin. It is a quintessential GT car...not to be confused with a sports car like 911. I wish the impression of a financially stable and a life now culminating in consistent good decision making was true of myself but I am quite happy to accept the illusion and status it projects upon me. A car does not always reflect the reality of one's status but still reflects how we wish to be portrayed to others!
Both guys have such a big smile in their faces. BTW, the dealer just informed me that I will have the same smile at the end of January when the yellow one arrive....
In my humble opinion, this is the perfect car review video (and lord knows I’ve watched too many AND it’s just an Xtra of a car they’ve already done!!). Succinct, details where needed, genuinely hilarious, just the right amount of dialogue. Many thanks to the Throttle House team for continuing excellence and hard work! Also thanks for vaulting this car to the absolute top of my wishlist 👀
I just bought a 2019 LC 500 in Infrared (hard top performance package of course) I could not be more thrilled. It has so much thought put into the design and feels incredible to drive. Not to mention it turns heads way more than any other car in its price range. I do wish I had the new touch screen though!
This is what the numbers don't tell you. People need to stop looking at a spec sheet and look for an EXPERIENCE. There is absolutely no need for something faster, and this way you get to enjoy the sound without being in jail. If you add reliability to the scale, the value is off the charts.
I love how they been smiling the whole time nun stop even when they wanted to be serious. And honestly after sitting in one I understand their smile and it's definitely my bucketlist car ❤
Have a 5.0 Mustang to get just a taste of this engine layout. V8, DOHC, Cross-Plane Crank, its really an amazing system. They're both dual injected as well. Smooth power delivery, great sound. I'll be saving my money for something like this in the future. A comfortable car that makes an amazing noise is really all a daily needs sometimes.
MR2 is coming soon, will either be a 3 cylinder mid engine or 4 hybrid possible manual. Celica is being worked on as well, but may be an EV...if not, a hybrid.

*This and the Jaguar F-Pace SVR.* 1) Both have top tier V8 sound tracks 2) Both are bargains within their respective classes 3) Both had late model infotainment overhauls that made said infotainment systems genuinely easy to use 4) Both were reviewed on the extra channel and received fantastic praise Not exactly a 2 car solution, but definitely a power couple in the garage for retired folks with money and style.

@@MarcYanOfficialWhich I’ll never have
Yup.
Brought mine LC500 last year. It's beautiful to ride. I drove from Winnipeg to Toronto and Ioved every second of it.
Legit my dream car (hardtop). Very happy that its still relatively underrated, hopefully it stays that way until I can afford one.
How is it one of the greatest reviews ever?? Just a simple Extra Throttle House video but it is the most beautiful and sincere love confession to a car I’ve heard. They looked like the happiest people on earth at that moment.
And the ending... 😂😂 Guys, you’re the best!
This car is the closest anyone is reasonably getting to an LFA.
Besides the engine this is waaay better then the LFA in every way
@@DiaperSNiFFERatrocious take especially considering the best part of the lc500 IS the engine
@@RandenMontalvo it ain’t $950,000 better thou
True, they are both automatic transmission Lexus. One is more than 1000lbs heavier though (4400lbs vs 3250lbs ).
@@DiaperSNiFFERthe engine in this is also designed/made by Yamaha same as the LFA
You know its special when the smiles never leave your faces!
I'm 19 years old and honestly, if I had 100k to spend on a car, I would think more about this LC. It seems perfect as a daily drive, fast but not extreme, with a scary sound and its reliable. Not to mention the external and internal style, and the overall uniqueness of the car on the new market
Give me a Raptor R instead I’ll drive over the damn thing then drag it down the higheay😂😂😂

Absolutely dream car, no rarris, Porsches, MBs, Buggatis. I WANT THIS ONE ❤
The sound, the luxury, the design... Love it
I'll get you one when I get rich.
I fondly remember this similar sound in 2005-7 of an Audi R/S car. The Lexus shown in this video is absolutely stunning in looks and sound. Lucky boys!!
I've wanted this car for so many years. Even used ones are pricey. Sounds fantastic.
My 75 year old grandfather absolutely loves this car. I’ve been in one with him at a car show and I really hope he splurges to buy one since it’s the perfect blend between his Lexus sedan and his 95 Mustang GT convertible.
Need to say to grandad that he only lives once and deserves a LC500
Honestly, I love all these new super fast high end vehicles, but when i do see this driving around, it does turn my head when I see it. I miss you LFA....
You can tell right away that this car is simply legendary just by looking at these two smiling so much 😂
A very under appreciated car. I own a '21 convertible and it is glorious. What an amazing, beautiful vehicle. Don't care for the new screen that looks tacked on. Ruins the beautiful interior of mine.
I couldn’t agree more! The tacked on Sylvania touch screen looks SO bad in every car they stick it in as an afterthought.
Old screen was definitely better
The genuine happiness on their faces during the upshits and downshifts... priceless!
@@jimmy-buffett I know what "bespoke" means, but what is a "bespoke LC500 convertible?"
@@hamsterbrigade
The transmission is absolutely amazing. Has a dual personality. Sharp when you push it, soft when you are cruising.
Better than ZF8 for a luxury sport car.
One of the most underrated cars along with the Jag F-Type
What a stunning car. And that sound. Lexus sure knows how to make a good sounding car!
I have NEVER seen James smile this much in a video! It is just sheer joy for he AND Thomas.
Have had mine for about 6 months now, and I love the car... but I think they love it even more!
This is how I truly know this is a phenomenal car without yet to drive one is simply the passion in your eyes words n expressions.🎉 haven't seen ya be this excited to this degree. So thanks I will be test driving in the morning! 😮
At one point late in the video I thought James was going to cry for Joy. On one hand you guys are lucky to be able to do what you do, on the other hand you've worked really hard to get there so go ahead and let the tears flow James. 😅😢😮😂
No one is marking up this car lol
Correct. Especially the convertible. This will be a bargain in 3-5 years. Used market is overpriced right now.
That exhaust is just so beautiful!! What a sound never gets old!!
Have a different car for the snow...or.move somewhere with no snow, here in Alabama we almost never have snow.
Being old is fine. Just make sure you are aware of your environment when driving. too many of you old guys out there in oblivion driving everywhere you go...
@@JacesOwnWorld More oblivious young people here, in most hostile city for drivers (Toronto core). Just being able to follow the rules makes you a casualty. This city is F'ing screwed up... But I hear you about those who should be giving up their licenses, but the culture has a soft spot for the geriatrics.
Most entertaining car reviewers out there. They’re genuinely funny, are good drivers, good production and data. Cheers guys
The used car price point for these are actually really good. You can find them in the low 60s
Indeed, saving up for one, the Lexus reliability is such an appealing factor too
40% off msrp on a 5 year old luxury car is not a good deal unless you've only been buying used cars since 2020.
Yeah and every single one has at least one accident. Some had multiple accidents shown on the Carfax 😂😂😂. Guess dentist are great drivers. 😜😜
Absolutely adore the LC500.
The intense enthusiasm for the car is evident even before riding inside it, unlike the review of the Mercedes SL 63, where any flaw was sought to highlight.
Neighbor has one in red; gorgeous car. I considered one but went with a C8 Z51. Not as pretty but sounds pretty good :)
Same! I almost got the Lexus but went for the c8. Wanted a more exotic look/feel
Same! Went with a C8 Z51 instead. Not to say I won't have an LC500 in the future, but it will be super hard to give up the mid-engine goodness and face melting launches.
I got mine. The best car of all time.
I drive the 17 GSF and simply love it. Modded the exhaust and sounds even better.
13:40 best moment in the whole video, where they both naturally shake their head after one another, realizing how good of a car this is.
Like button is not enough for this video, there should be a "I'm lovin' it" button
I'de like one and manual swap it but im poor and drive a 27 year old Sentra (at least it is manual though).
I have the 2023 version of it for almost a year and i'm loving every minute driving it. Best car I've ever driven
The LC500 is fantastic and weird in the best way. Great review and loved the banter.
The most joyful review ever.
I'd love them to make a MX5 competitor with this style... :D
The FT-Se is probably as close as it'll ever be possible to get to that.
MR2 is coming soon, will either be a 3 cylinder mid engine or 4 hybrid possible manual. Celica is being worked on as well, but may be an EV...if not, a hybrid.
literally my dream car journey... mx5 then lc500. one day!
I almost bought a salvage LC500 recently to restore. I have always thought that this is one of the most striking vehicles on the road. I would not characterize this as a "retired dentist" car, except that dentistry is one of the highest-paying professions in the world. I have seen people say the same about the SL series of MB. This is a head-turning car. Great ride and sound.........glad you guys walked back the dentist comment. This car is it's own flavor.
After all these years, the tail lights design are still stunning👍 (front end still a bit iffy)
I have a neighbor that has one and my son and I, LOVE IT! It is one of the coolest looking, sounding, and driving cars I’ve seen in recent memory. It is also extremely rare in my part of the state. ❤❤❤ Lexus, who knew? I want an IS 500 because I’m not a retired dentist.
It’s way better than a Bentley.
*This and the Jaguar F-Pace SVR.*
1) Both have top tier V8 sound tracks
2) Both are bargains within their respective classes
3) Both had late model infotainment overhauls that made said infotainment systems genuinely easy to use
4) Both were reviewed on the extra channel and received fantastic praise
Not exactly a 2 car solution, but definitely a power couple in the garage for retired folks with money and style.
I am dentist, and I am going to order this car next week:)
A car that doesn't care about the so called competition...it only competes with itself to be PERFECTLY BALANCED in all areas. Quality and details matter. Love this car and look forward to owning one soon. Thanks to you both for ALL YOUR CONTENT. Love your detailed info on each vehicle. You show you love cars as much as most inthusiast.
Maybe this is a retired persons car...lol My monthly driver or toy from time to time is a 2019 ZL1/1LE Blue/manual. 😉
U.S. Marine Corps-retired.
Just an epic car! ❤ Thank you, Lexus! Agree with you, guys!
That's by far the best soulful engine and exhaust melody I have heard this year...I wanna have it...yes I do..❤
I agree! Hardtop looks wayyyyy better and it’s better for more aerodynamics too 😸
This channel and Hagerty are my favorites. You can see ya'll actually like each other and it shows in the reviews.
This car is the only car I seriously consider trading in my Giulia QV for... If it wasn't for the non-existent back seats, I think this is a done deal. As much as I love my Alfa, this just somehow has more personality I think... Which is crazy to say when talking about a Lexus vs an Alfa Romeo...
Ha! I almost sold my LC for a Giulia QV - I have a Stelvo 2.0 as my grocery getter, so wanted to complete the set. I love the QV, it’s fast, gorgeous, but in the end, I didn’t need another 4 door, and the V8 is just so damn good!
I’m in the same boat, have a QV, but have a sweet spot for the LC
Picked up a flare yellow 19' Inspiration Series last year. No regrets whatsoever, keeping this car for a long long time.
I still love the F Type R more, but I can't deny this has a more interesting looking interior. Great GT car overall for sure.
