  • The 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Roadster ($183,000 starting in the US, $221,500 starting in Canada) has a 4.0L V8 biturbo, and puts 577 horsepower and 590 lb ft of torque to all four wheels. Thomas and James are excited to be back in an AMG V8, and are curious how the SL 63 drives and what it offers compared to its competition. How does it stack up as a high performance soft-top roadster? And is it worth the rather hefty price tag? We hope you enjoy the episode. SUBSCRIBE!
    Huge thank you to Keyes European for loaning us their SL63. Check out their inventory at www.keyesmercedes.com/

    • @LoganSLRLockwood
      @LoganSLRLockwood 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A lot of their reviews, especially for performance or luxury cars, use dealership or subscriber vehicles. It's a more frequent observation with TH than with any of the other car reviewers I watch where they ask their fanbase on social media if there's anyone with a cool car willing to have it reviewed.
      The pro of this is they can be as critical as they want to be for the car they review. This also allows them to do more with the cars they're given (track tests, old vs new, drag races).
      The main con is they don't get invited by manufacturers themselves for early access reviews and whatnot as often as other reviewers do. This isn't to say they don't ever get invited to press events. They do, and those videos are very obviously very different to reviews like this one where they drive a car ~2 years after release and give an honest critique of it, or reviews where they drive a subscriber's or have a dealership's car.

    But I have to say that when I saw the SL 63 AMG on the street for the first time (in matte brown) I stopped and looked for 2-3 minutes at the car. It’s one of the most beautiful new cars on the market and it looks really premium. I think it looks better in real life than in videos on TH-cam. Respect to the designers at Mercedes. 👍🏻

Also i think Keys gave you a really shitty probably a salvage or buy back loaner to test! My car doesnt have any misaligned parts or bending door panels! And you got the basic basic spec which doesnt do justice to the car at all! Mine is matte blue with beuge interior! I invite you to take mine next time you are here in LA! This car is briliant and i love it so much!

    Disappointed to see the quality in the ‘24. I have the ‘22 SL55 and am thrilled with it. Build quality is as should be,more than enough power, and much less expensive. At 6’2”, the 911 Targa was a challenge to fit in and hard to find at a reasonable price; the LC500 is beautiful, will last forever, and sounds amazing but the rear wheel drive was undesirable for me. No regrets despite it will depreciate faster than the other two options (maintenance could be fun too - so far so good).
