I really appreciate you for posting this before Ivy Day, I can tell that this is unbiased and your raw experience. Thank you for sharing, and I hope that whatever school you get into you have the best college experience out of!
x03 grad here---gotta say---just be yourself. Believe it or not, we can tell if a prospective student has prepared in advance. One of my favs---why do you want to attend Harvard? Answer---MIT is my dream school, but Harvard is my safety! The focus should always be on your dream first. Then how a place like HC can help you along the way. There are just too many HS candidates who over-prepare on the interview and when asked a simple question that is totally unexpected---"what was your GPA", they stumble. I think all the questions posed to the candidate are ones they really should have given some deep thought. Never tell an interviewer what you think they want to hear. Just be honest with yourself and give the most reflective answer possible. It is also totally acceptable to say something like...."I really haven't given that question much thought, but I can say right now my feeling is XXX". Best of luck to all applicants in 2026 and beyond. The Boston area is a great place to "grow up" and spend your college years, just don't wander too close to the Kendall/MIT stop on the red line! As you are driving into Boston from Cambridge along Mass ave, just lock your doors and never look the MIT students straight in the eyes.....it's creepy!
@@sophssnapshots If you really want to go to Harvard, you could wait 5 years, and then attend Harvard Extension School. It is for adults returning to higher education who don't have a Bachelors Degree. You take 3 pre-admission courses, earn at 3.0 GPA or better, and you're in.
@@sophssnapshots don't lose hope. the college app process is a complete crapshoot after a certain point. enjoyed your perspective on college apps as a homeschooled student!
