Harvard should be honest about its vision on creating new community. For example, I come from very different background and culture. I hope it makes sense for you to check your vision again.
@@mathmanchris666 You are right. However I don’t think I am dumb. Because in my national exam, I come to the first place. I had the one of the highest score in our country. So that is why I am upset Harvard didn’t accept me.
The more of comments I read, the less secure I feel about getting accepted. Mainly due to my school system, the Italian one. We don't have courses, you get sorted in a class at the start of your first high school year, then you'll stay there until the fifth. You don't get to choose which subject you wanna study, everyone just do the same 12 subjects. We don't get extra credit per class, plus if you do, you can only accumulate a fixed amount, based on your school grade average, that is made out of ALL the subjects. We don't have lots of extracurricular activities, plus after the pandemic almost no external certification gives you credits. we don't have honor classes, since we cannot even chose them.... I'm really worried, i seriously looking forward to study in the UK, tho my country won't recognize the A-levels as a "High School - Diploma". I'd love some tips, feel free to write what ever you want.
hey, not sure if im too late but there are several things you can do outside of school. if you have the freedom and your parents are flexible, you can see what connections you have, do an internship, see who you can get experience from. if you dont have that type of freedom, and are looking for more "at-home" things then there are several free courses you can do online and its extremely easy these days to learn a skill and become amazing at it independently. you can also start up an online business or build connections digitally. lots of options, you should be fine if you utilize them
@(Insert a name) lmao this is horrible advice. I know a kid who acted like a “model” citizen at all of his ivy league interviews, got rejected from every single one with the exception of Dartmouth. Now, this kid had great ECs, he volunteered (over 800 hours) at shelters, took trips to Colombia to help kids in need, did a bunch of stem programs, won awards in math and science. But he didn’t care about these subjects, he just did them to get into “hahvahrd.” And when you have no love for something you can’t show your interest, which is why he was rejected. Harvard isn’t looking for well-rounded people, they are looking for a well-rounded CLASS. People who will excel in life. Which is why another student from my school got into Harvard for RD this year, at it’s lowest admit rate (about 3.4%), alongside UPenn (wharton), Princeton, Brown and Columbia. He was really into Business, and he talked about it, a LOT. That’s not to say he didn’t do anything else, but he had his own *thing* and focused on it. He was himself, told his interviewers what type of person he is and why he’d be a great fit for his schools. That kid got into 5/8 ivies, Duke and Northwestern.
Why would you ask someone who got in to Harvard whether it’s hard?? It’s like asking a professional soccer player whether soccer is hard- maybe for them it’s not hit for others it might be!
Good luck my man. Don't wanna be that guy but a waitlist from Harvard is basically a "go fuck yourself". 2021 admissions had ZERO taken off the waitlist.
@@mathmanchris666 Yea I actually got into Brown which is very good enough for me lol (but I'll still take a Harvard acceptance after being waitlisted anyday we'll see).
Have fun getting sued for stealing Wired's format and monetising the video. First you're gonna get owned by SCOTUS in the AA lawsuit and then this lawsuit could be the small finishing blow.
Ik you trolling but the odds of the Supreme Court taking this case are like me making it into the NFL. They only take 100-150 cases out of over 7,000 every year. This doesn't warrant a writ of certiorari bc it can easily be decided by a lower district court.
@@colonelnoob3269 I clearly said they are gonna get owned by SCOTUS on the AA (Affirmative Action or as I like to call it, Anti-Asian) case, obviously not the hypothetical Wired case. They already took the AA case and the case is expected to be heard this year. The Wired case is undeniably copyright infringement, so it will never reach that far: they stole the exact video format, design elements, title format, description format, hashtag/keyword format, and more. It's a joke. Stealing all of these things together clearly proves this. They are lucky this video only has 40k views, so Wired won't sue for damages unless views increase 100x or more. But I hope they still make Harvard comply with the TH-cam takedown like a good dog. They can do that with little effort. While we may never see the Wired lawsuit, the AA lawsuit is coming to your theatres soon.
How ironic that Harvard Admissions used the word "everyday" incorrectly in their own description. Looks like Columbia for me. Edit: They changed it silently. Not cool.
Hahaha they do? Crap like that makes no sense to me. My university also uses the wrong everyday/every day and although it's a small state college, these writers should be professionals. 🤦♀️
I'm pretty sure they used it correctly. Everyday, one word, is an adjective meaning "used or seen daily," or "ordinary." "The phone calls were an everyday occurrence." Every day, two words, is an adverb phrase meaning "daily" or "every weekday." "They go to the coffee shop every day." In the description, they used "Every day" as an adverb, which is correct.
@@collinaestheticx1332 That's because they changed their description. ;) It used to be "everyday," not "every day." They fixed it, but regardless, it's not a good look for them.

I would suggest you get a rec letter from a teacher who knows you best and is most related to what you plan on majoring in. For example, if you're thinking of majoring in biochemistry, getting a letter from either your biology or chemistry teacher would be helpful. It doesn't matter if they're from your old or new school. It's better to get a really good letter from a teacher who knows you really well than have a generic letter from a new teacher

don't use berkeley as an example when it's just as elitist and the tuition is still crazy for people coming in from out of state
Studying in TOP public universities in Europe is hella cheap, it’s a lot easier to get in, and you pass your time exploring new countries…I feel like is better in “enjoying” terms.
Except in this case, those Jordans will get you into rooms your $20 shoes won't
From a Harvard grad: It's brutal getting in. But once enrolled, it's not brutal. In fact it's the most incredible learning environment in the world (imo). The Uni goes above and beyond to help you flourish and succeed in what you want to achieve.

Hi, I am from the Philippines🇵🇭 and I have about three years to wait for high school graduation, but I am already excited to go to a US university.
These questions are really what I google about Harvard, and since mine are about the same as here in the list, I get the sudden feeling or relief and my doubts and insecurities suddenly dropped in a large percentage, so a big Thank You for this video. I hope this still applies in three years time.

Harvard should be honest about its vision on creating new community. For example, I come from very different background and culture. Without its cultural richness Harvard just produces robots for the future. It is bad for a college to come to an end like that. They need to be ambitious about the cultural diversity background. I hope it makes sense for you to check your vision again.
harvard isnt the dollar tree college. Its for smart and rich people not poor and dumb. Robotic can also sound like smart but ehhhhhhhh
@@mathmanchris666 You are right. However I don’t think I am dumb. Because in my national exam, I come to the first place. I had the one of the highest score in our country. So that is why I am upset Harvard didn’t accept me.

how to be a Harvard student: be smart, be rich, be able bodied, be mentally healthy, and of course, be popular in high school
i’m assuming the free time is based on how good you are at managing your work
The more of comments I read, the less secure I feel about getting accepted. I'd love some tips, feel free to write what ever you want.
hey, not sure if im too late but there are several things you can do outside of school.
if you have the freedom and your parents are flexible, you can see what connections you have, do an internship, see who you can get experience from.
if you dont have that type of freedom, and are looking for more "at-home" things then there are several free courses you can do online and its extremely easy these days to learn a skill and become amazing at it independently. you can also start up an online business or build connections digitally.
lots of options, you should be fine if you utilize them
Don't go on believing the lies folks. They profit from broken dreams and unrealistic hopes.
It took me a solid minute of looking at the thumbnail to realize that it was not Kurtis.

@(Insert a name) most ass advice ever and its not even a .5% acceptance rate tf
@(Insert a name) that’d true I’m applying for Yale so
@(Insert a name) lmao this is horrible advice.
No
Why would you ask someone who got in to Harvard whether it’s hard?? It’s like asking a professional soccer player whether soccer is hard- maybe for them it’s not hit for others it might be!
Honesty and confidence are the essentials of Harvard
I got waitlisted by Harvard......good enough for me lol

Have fun getting sued for stealing Wired's format and monetising the video. First you're gonna get owned by SCOTUS in the AA lawsuit and then this lawsuit could be the small finishing blow.
WTH man😂
Ik you trolling but the odds of the Supreme Court taking this case are like me making it into the NFL.

Hello!
So as Harvard don't require SAT or TOEFL scores anymore ,the basis of admission are going to be the recommendation letters and essay ?
Can a former teacher or a teacher from my former school write the letters for me as I have changed my school several months ago ??
To kya purane school ka principal likh sakta hai recommendation letter
Because mai abhi jis school mai hu vo school join kiye 1 sal bhi nahi hua hai
@Siddhartha dash .
@Siddhartha dash ok thanks
