    What upstream kind of RCD/MCB did you fit? Lots of conflicting information about type "A" or "B" in the consumer unit.

    Morzak EV Thank you for this video. I purchased the Ohme Home Pro and Ohme have confirmed they are testing the API integration with the Volkswagen ID.3, should be ready in a month or so. Just to add, the customer service from Ohme is outstanding, they are very helpful. Morzak EV I now need your help with getting on a suitable electricity tariff please? Thank you again.

      Unfortunately, it's tough at the moment finding a suitable tariff with the energy crisis!

    Looking forward to you fitting mine on Tuesday. As per other reply what happens when the sin card expires? Can it just be connected to WiFi?

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, the Ohme has no WiFi capability, so it’s needs to be kept with a SIM card. Obviously, there can be no guarantee of prices 3 years down the line, but there’s a high level of competition for this sort of data package, and with the low data levels, this means prices will be cheap. The main thing is that you can’t be held to ransom.

    How have they wired the production CT clamp? I need about a 6m cable run from the meter cupboard - is it bare wires at the end of the clamp to fit into Wago terminals etc? Great video, btw! Been waiting to see the new Ohme charger as the previous version was a bit ‘rustic’ in appearance…

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they’ve got bears wires and they even supply wago’s which can be terminated in the same junction box as the main feed (using the appropriate techniques). Super easy if you know what you’re doing and even better if you use something like EV Ultra Cable with the data cable built in.

    Great video. Thanks very much for doing that. Expecting my car in a few weeks, wondering if the 5m cable can be extended? Does this charger cable allow you to add another one to this one if 5m isn't long enough? Also was wondering if it allows for wi-fi connectivity, so when the 3 year 4G SIM card plan runs out can I connect to home wifi? Thanks!

      I’ve asked the cable length question directly to Ohme Support. WiFi or even Ethernet would made loads of sense too.

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know, there’s only one cable length available today, and the only way of extending is to use a type 2 to type 2 extension lead. Currently there is also no WiFi connectivity.

    • @PaulGodbehere
      @PaulGodbehere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MorzakEV Reply from Ohme: We currently only have 5m cables available and we don't recommend the use of extension cables as we cannot guarantee that they will be safe to use. Apologies for any disappointment this may cause.

    Good to here that production model ct clamp/plug will come with wagos much better for intigration with EV Ultra cabeling .

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, exactly. We’ve successfully installed these on EV Ultra already and they’ve been great and setup and commissioning was really simple.

    What happens after 3 years is up, I can't find out how much they will start charging anywhere so a bit worried we'll be stung with high monthly/yearly costs to keep using the app...

    How much data does it use via the SIM card?

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know for sure. But certainly less than 1 gig per month and most data packages are measured in Gb rather than Mb nowadays

    Hey , can these be installed on a TT earthing system ?

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, all charge points can be installed on a TT earthing system as far as I know. The only caveat I would add is that some Renaults need a Zs of less than 100ohm to ensure they will work ok.

    is it possible not to have email details available on the units’ display?

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean on your own unit? I’m not sure to be honest, but I don’t see why not. Mine doesn’t do this as it’s still the previous beta testing software version. Have you spoken to Ohme about this? I’m sure they’ll be open to this.

  • @rugbygirlsdadg

    Relies on a mobile phone signal, so it's not suitable for all installations, particularly in remote areas (with no phone signal). I know of several properties which cannot have smart meters for that very same reason.

    • @MorzakEV
      @MorzakEV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. It’s in the minority these days, and that’s why it’s worth going to someone who knows the products well. We do the consultation to understand all aspects of the installation to ensure the units will function as intended. Similarly some other units are WiFi only, and that means they can be used where garages are too far from the house (and therefore out of WiFi signal range) so then the Ohme is worth it.

    It looks really smart I’m undecided against this and the Indra smart pro. I like the fact it can find the cheap tariffs especially on octopus I’m with ovo energy.

      There plenty of options that do have WiFi capability, so it’s all about choosing the options that suits you best.
