I used a OBD READER got the bad star solenoid code, replace the pary crank only 2 times, i was about to change the starter but there was no power getting to it so scratch that option out till I got to your video no brake lamps on...👍👏 thank you bro...great video +1.
My parents bought me a mazda when i hit a deer with my first car and i will absolutely never ever buy another one. Words cannot describe my hate for this brand or the unreliability of my car or fobs. What i wouldnt give for a physical key and a car that i know will start every time
You should be able to see brake switch activation in live data. Great suggestion tho for those without a scan tool or who are stuck on the side of the road needing to get to a workshop. 👍😊
So i'm having this exact issue with my 2014 Mazda CX-5 but after a lot of fighting the car will eventually turn on and hit me with a SCBS Message and the Tire Pressure Message. my tires are all just fine, Would fixing the brake light switch resolve this issue with the SCBS or is that another problem that just happens to be going on at the same time kind of at my wits end trying to figure it out before i fork over money i don't have to some expensive mechanic when its hard to move the car to begin with, appreciate any help!
Ok great video but quick question I have a 2013 mazda mazda 3 the cars battery was dead from lights being on , guy claims he had it cross jumped by accident now the car won’t start , i check the main fuse on battery terminal it’s good but the 40 fuse for the ignition was fried ,replaced that car does absolutely nothing horn doesn’t work no lights on dash red security light flash no lights in the inside key fob doesn’t respond but the head lights work that’s weird I really don’t won’t to sale the car but I’m not rich can u please give me some pointers
I have the same problem it doesn’t read the key and it’s has the red blinking but I can access to acc and on but when I try to turn on the car it just turn off I changed the switch and still the same problem
🤣 Test don't guess. Patience is a trait that is getting lost more and more. From a Technicians point of view this is terrible advise. If all we need is a bit more time to confirm a fault, it is by far the best way. There are many other possibilities for no start faults, so assuming every Mazda will be the same could be very foolish for some. Thanks for watching and I am happy the video was able to help you out 👌🙏💪

On newer Ford vehicles, the amber light on the start button should turn green, when you press the brake or clutch pedal.
Thanks was scratching my head for days this solved my problem 😅

Great video, thanks Gerard
Thank you for the info, would this problem with the break switch show up on a scan?
Thank you, It didn't show up on any scan, but you could use live data on your scan tool to see if brake pedal activation on/off is getting signal

no start because brake switch crazy nearly as good as a door handle stopping a car from starting cars are getting to frigging smart
Ths is a very simple fix. IT IS THE BRAKE SWITCH!!!!!!!!!!! $14 at Amazon. Less than a minute to install. Just do jt and skip all of this drama.

I struggled to get hold of that switch, my car is manual, so they put a metal sheet that make access to the switch to very difficult
I will never buy Mazda vehicles ever. They are garbage.
