@@Varekai0723 I'm supposed to have adaptive cruise but so far I am manually having to adapt it on my steering wheel...up a few miles and down a few miles...way too often... Now that I watched this video I'm going into settings again. Last time I checked the only thing I found under safety settings was Blind Spot Monitoring...nothing else...so will be on the hunt. Cruise control is so satisfying when there aren't cars slowing at random times and driving erratically in front of me...living in a rural area makes it possible to use it more than in a more densely populated area. Also, one thing I have noticed both on my Hyundai Accent SE and on my Mazda 3 is that my cruise control does NOT work on very short, hilly areas that go up and down like a roller coaster. After setting cruise speed to 50 which is the speed limit the darn thing starts giving the car too much gas as I climb the small hill and gets to about 53 and then as it starts downhill ends up going faster and faster getting up to 63 and then hits the next hill. Why is this?
If it’s rush hour and you’re trying to maintain a small gap to the car in front of you to prevent them from cutting in, you’re probably not (or shouldn’t be) using adaptive or traditional cruise control. If traffic is lighter and you’re still getting cut-ins, make sure you adjust the ACC’s headway (following distance) to minimum - that should help, although cut-ins can still occur by the more aggressive drivers.

For most new vehicles you don't have to fully disable the adaptive cruise control in the infotainment. Let me blow your mind. When you press the cruise control button to turn it on. Press and hold it and it will automatically switch to regular speed hold instead of adaptive. To switch back to adaptive, just turn cruise control off and turn it back on again. :) I would love to see your reactions to this!
I randomly discovered this feature about 6 months ago while sitting in my driveway. By that time, I had been fighting with adaptive CC for over a year. I wouldn't mind using it more often if it braked smoother on the highway. You can't even merge left to pass someone without the radar spotting the upcoming car in the right lane and then braking heavily. 🙄
My last four cars have been Mazdas... an '07 CX-7, a '12 CX-9, an '18 CX-9, and now a '22 CX-9. I stumbled across the window secret, thinking it was some kind of malfunction, by hitting the unlock button only a couple times in the CX-7, happily finding out that it was a normal function. The 2012 CX-9 also had this ability, but was told in the 2018 and my new '22, that it was no longer a thing. 😒 I loved that function... I'm so happy to find this video. I'm going to try that the next time I go outside. 😊 My 2018 CX-9 had a touchscreen display. When we bought this new car, the salesman told us they took that feature away... so stupid, IMO. Going to try out the android auto trick here, too.... hoping it works. 🙏🏼🤞🏼 Thanks for these additional comment tricks, too, everyone! I'm shorter than my husband, so being able to program our individual key fobs to our seat, mirror and HUD preferences is PRICELESS! 😊🎉❤
Nice! I still have my '05 Mazda3, just totalled my '18 Mazda3 (a DWI hit us from behind, that car saved our lives, my 2yo toddler was in the backseat). I'm now waiting for my '25 CX-5, going to pick it up this coming Friday 🎉
This is a safety feature… so if you have your parking brake engaged, the electronic parking brake will NOT automatically disengage unless you put your seatbelts on. You will think it’s broken but you are just not buckled up.
I bought my Mazda 3 carbon edition hatch here in Thailand, picked it up yesterday ! Owners manual all in Thai. uh oh. If you buy a car here they put flowers on the dashboard and give you a small buddha figurine for the dashboard. 🙂
The Toyota dealership where I got my used Mazda 3 S Grand Touring put a giant red bow on my vehicle when they brought it up for me after I bought it. That was a nice touch! Flowers on the dash and a spiritual memento sounds wonderful too!
I don't understand why people don't like adaptive cruise. It is super handy and I miss it when I drive my vehicles that don't have it. On road trips I set it for 5-10 over the speed limit and let it keep pace with cars ahead of me. I also use it in town because I have a small distracting child. This gives me an edge when someone decides to cut into my lane while trying to figure out why my child is freaking out. The only time it is annoying in winter when the radar freezes over and it randomly turns it off with no way to use dumb cruise mode in my 2016 cx-5. The sudden deceleration can cause your vehicle to lose control in wet conditions.
It's an issue of having a ton of traffic and having people get just past you and then move into your lane with not even a car's length gap. Some Smart Cruise systems will literally slam on the brakes which is not only annoying and a pain in the ass but a safety issue and can cause a rear end collision if the person behind you doesn't have a good following distance. My old 2015 Chrysler 200C AWD did it when someone would move in front of me and in Utah on I-15 in traffic that was a big problem. I turned the smart Cruise off pretty often. My 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited is much better and doesn't slam on the brakes but rather just coasts until the gap is what I have it set at. My recent trip from Wichita to Sioux Falls was a great example.
It's a different car, but I hate the adaptive cruise on my 2018 Accord. Even if you set it to the closest following distance, it leaves too much space, so people cut in front of you nonstop. As a result, it ends up being very busy on the gas and brakes. It's a much more leisurely drive if I use standard cruise control and just turn it off in high traffic situations.
The third “hidden feature” had 2 steps too many, it’s similar to accessory mode in an old school key car where you’d turn the key quarter way to have the infotainment system or even AC going. In my wife’s CX30 or even my 2018 Mazda6 all you need to do is once the car is off you just press the push to start button with no breaks or shifter knob and both the air and infotainment will come on.
In my car, 2023 H/B, you have to press it twice without the clutch or brake pedal depressed. I am not sure what happens when it is only pressed once. (the start/stop button)
FYI, when you say AC, I hope you realize you're not going to get cooled or heated air, you're just getting air. And if you were in recirc mode when the engine was off, you're getting stale unheated or uncooled air when the engine is off. It just wastes battery.
Leaving the drive selector in N when turning off the car puts it into accessory mode, so you can listen to the radio with the engine off. If you select P you can also get accessory mode by holding the lockout override button as shown in the video.
Adaptive cruise control on Mazda will come to a complete stop on the freeway. If you set the distance you want via the dashboard, the car will even brake if it sees a car on it's radar. ACC to me is amazing and I love it.
I just got the new xox-50 last night. All of these features are new to me, I’m scared to let the car brake for me…it really can come to a complete stop with the adaptive cruise?!?
TL;DW: 1. 3 Unlock clicks and 1 long Unlock click - opens all windows. 2. Apple CarPlay touchscreen on all the time. When you go to pair and select the "Touchscreen in Motion for All Devices." setting. 3. Leave foot on brake. Press button on shifter. Then turn off the car. The screen stays on for 15 minutes. 4. You can disable Mazda Radar Cruise Control and make it a standard cruise control from the settings. 5. There's a click button when pressing brake all the way in. Mazda says better not hit it. And he said some BS about shifting I don't understand. 6. In Reverse gear, the mirror can tilt down. 7.
the car windows going down feuture was already a thing on my mazda 6 MPS from 2007. with that remote you could pull the windows up by holding the lock button, the same way you would do with the unlock button to get them down.

I think your number three was how to leave the info screen on when turning the car off with the auto trans but what about the manual trans? I believe to turn daytime running lights off you go into settings, vehicle settings(?) exterior lighting, and there should be an option for DRL and a box to uncheck.
I have read my owners manual especially when I needed to pair my garage door opener too the button in our GMC . But your mostly right with most people not looking at the owners manual . enjoyed your video .

Engine Stop/Start: Not sure this is hidden, but definitely different than other makes: the CX-50 stop/start uses hydraulic pressure to engage the system, its not mechanical. Saves wear and tear on the starter and battery, but the feature is inconsistent since the driver doesn't know when the vacuum pressure is at a point to engage stop/start

Adaptive cruise was a lifesaver on road trips but it can freak out if somebody cuts you off. Most cars let you adjust sensitivity. The thing I always turned off though was lane keep. I had a VW Passat and it almost crashed me because it misread lane markings I guess and tried to swerve me into the opposite lane.
My Mazda salesman couldn’t answer a single question I asked about my car after delivery. I had the car for two months before I knew what the auto hold feature was. I also didn’t know how to keep the side mirrors from tilting down when in reverse.
DOOOOOD! My guy had his garage guy sit with me, Cochran Mazda, Wexford. I knew some, but you taught me a LOT. 2022 cx5 doesn't seem to do the drop window thing. Will try again. Will try the mirror thing; last car, Murano, had this and so enjoyed it.
I love it too. Makes road trips at least half as tiring as before. Unfortunately Mazda doesn't have an effective version of this, but check out a newer Toyota with "Lane Centering" as well, it will also keep your car in the correct lane while cruise control is enabled, so all you have to do is keep your hand touching the wheel, and watch the road for anything sudden or unexpected where you'd have to suddenly intervene, but otherwise it makes road trips extremely easy to pull off. Other brand shave this too, but the only one I can vouch for personally is the effectiveness of the Toyota systems. Renting a RAV4 or Camry with unlimited miles included for your next road trip is a suggestion I'd give you if you're curious about it
In Europe there is a speed limiter as well as cruise control. If you have the limiter set and press the kick button it will override the limiter and speed up.

I have a 22 Acura MDX. It has the roll down of windows & Opens the sunroof by 2 clicks of the Unlock button, the second click is held for as long as you want. You can release it early and it will stop rolling the windows. Then I hit the Remote Start button, which starts the A/C in summer. Great feature, if the car is in "reach" of those signals. The other features of the Mazda are also included and then some. Tilt Down side mirrors is a valuable feature, especially parking by curbs in city areas. I'm an Old Timer .... I always read the Manuals. I want to know all the features of my car. However, Vignettes like this are very helpful to bring the info to the Masses. THX

I knew about the side windows but I am not sure if mine are working or if I don't have something set correctly. Like the key fob maybe or the mirror adjustment switch??
That trick that you did with the remote for the windows, if you did the same thing but hit the lock button instead? It puts the remote into sleep mode to save the battery. (It will still lock and unlock the vehicle but it won’t start the vehicle, not unless you put the remote to the start/stop button. Another: if you have the 360 camera, you can access it at any speed. This comes in very handy for when squeezing between a car and a curb when making a right (in Vegas, we have enough room to fit two full size vehicles in the right lane, given that they have some form of road adequate do so) Also comes in handy at drive-throughs so you don’t curb rash your wheels
@@jandia5162 it won’t wake the remote back up, you more than likely took it out of sleep mode (which is the exact same way as putting it in sleep mode)
Interesting as well is the fob sleep mode. Not that you would want it to happen but sometimes it accidentally happens and you need it to turn off. This is noticed when suddenly your fob doesn't seem to be working.
My 2024 CX-5 Premium had the vertical graphs on the sides of the speedo go away after I had the oil changed. I messed around for maybe 2 hours on and off trying to figure it out. If you push and hold the knob that adjusts the display brightness that display will then toggle between off, bar graphs for MPG and miles until empty or the numerical display showing MPG, etc. The owners manual was no help until I finally scrolled past the pages showing the dash display. First you have to decipher if you have a Type A, B or C cluster. I never found anything in the index to help find that function.
Also if you’re in manual mode and go WOT but don’t click the kickdown it won’t downshift, if you do click it it’ll drop to the lowest gear and auto shift for you. Nice for when you’re making a quick pass and don’t want to click from 6th to 2nd or 3rd.
I find that immensely valuable when you need to slam the accelerator to get out of a sticky situation but forgot you were in manual mode and don't have your hand on the shifter.
Now find a way to use the remote start without having to use mazda connect. I hate having to use my phone because my key fob doesn't have that feature. (cx-30)

Instead of CarPlay. Connect mobile in Bluetooth then you get option to enable touchscreen always. Then connect it in CarPlay, this works. I did in my 2024 model
Let me be clear. It doesn't always slow it down. I'm not saying I expect it to slow down. It uses the brakes but then at the bottom of hill it keeps using the brakes and then tries to use the gas to go so it has a hiccup

-Remote Start: Change how long the vehicle stays running before shutting off automatically. (10-30min)
-Turn off auto folding mirrors: Side mirrors will remain out/open, even after exiting the vehicle. (Can still fold mirrors manually via mirror buttons) *I highly recommend turning auto folding mirrors off during the winter season.
-Hidden VIN: Not really a feature - The VIN is hidden underneath the passenger floor mat, rather than displayed in the windsheild like most vehicles.
-Taco Holder: There is a flip-down taco holder located above the rear-view mirror, next to the overhead lights. 🌮
Lol, I wonder how many people didn't get the taco holder joke??!!
That's because it's a stupid joke
For most new vehicles you don't have to fully disable the adaptive cruise control in the infotainment. Let me blow your mind. When you press the cruise control button to turn it on. Press and hold it and it will automatically switch to regular speed hold instead of adaptive. To switch back to adaptive, just turn cruise control off and turn it back on again. :) I would love to see your reactions to this!
DAMN! Gonna try.
@Mateusz Plewa Hell yeah, Let me know if it works for you!
This does not work on Mazda 3, CX-30, and CX-50. It does work on CX-5 and CX-9
@@jbgetawesome I HATE adaptive CC.
My 2018 CX-9 had a touchscreen display. When we bought this new car, the salesman told us they took that feature away... so stupid, IMO. Going to try out the android auto trick here, too.... hoping it works. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
Thanks for these additional comment tricks, too, everyone!
Mine doesn't.
I've never used my parking brake on any automatic car I've driven. Ever. Maybe if I lived in San Francisco
@@maxxbenzz7842you should always use your parking brakes. There is a very small pin that keeps it locked in park.
@@maxxbenzz7842 Ive never NOT used my parking brake on a car, when it is parked, since 1975. Removes all risk of the car rolling anywhere.
THEY GAVE ME AN INFLATABLE DOLL
Me neither, is just a great safety system.
And now it comes activated because people are so attached to their phones and always distracted.
I have a 23 CX5 and use adaptive cruise for over half my driving. what kind of crazy people don't like it?
You can switch to dumb cruise control by pressing and holding the cruise control button. 😁
Great video guys! I just bought a Mazda CX-30 AWD GT a month ago. It's a perfect little car for a retired single guy. Cheap to keep on the road!
Yup and you tap the gas pedal (or clutch) every once in a while so the car reset the 15 minute turn off timer.
Yeah but this stops the infotainment rebooting
In my car, 2023 H/B, you have to press it twice without the clutch or brake pedal depressed. I am not sure what happens when it is only pressed once.
(the start/stop button)
FYI, when you say AC, I hope you realize you're not going to get cooled or heated air, you're just getting air. And if you were in recirc mode when the engine was off, you're getting stale unheated or uncooled air when the engine is off. It just wastes battery.
Bro I’ve lost your channel and found it 2 years later amazing keep up the good work
You are so lucky, u just missed Robbie’s 1 year pause!
Just bought a Mazada 3 turbo. You guys hooked it up. Thank you.
Thanks a couple tricks i didnt know about my cx50 ... the shut off car/keep music on is my favorite!
Thanks for posting this. I hated my mirror going down when backing up.
TL;DW:
1. 3 Unlock clicks and 1 long Unlock click - opens all windows.
I'm totally gonna try this on my wife's 2019 CX-5 GTR when she gets home from work!

New to Mazda, Tommy 2 days ago. Not sure if this is trim related, but if you are in manual mode, you can change gears by pressing two buttons on the back of your steering wheel, behind your left and right wheel spokes.. So like paddle shifters, but button shifters instead.
What? You're saying the shifters are there by just the paddles missing? That's a crazy easy thing to mod

Did the new Mazda's drop the scroll wheel for the infotainment center? I hate that my 2022 isn't a touchscreen.
I just bought a Mazda CX 50 Preferred. I’m learning it still and this was way cool! As I went through it I paused it and went out to my car snd did these things I had no idea I could do! Thank you
Tnx for these tips....did you know that if you press the Star, Music and Volume button at the same time for about 3 seconds that a "secret" menu pops up?...don't know what to do with it though 😅 (if you do how to program it, please let me know😀)
Whoa! Had no idea about the key fob window thing, and keeping the infotainment on when turning off the engine! Thanks for the tips!
Great video. Just bought a CX-50 turbo premium I’m picking up on Saturday and the infotainment system has me terrified. 😂 Thanks for the tips. 👍🏻
Congratulations! Actually the infotainment system is easy to get used to, though it has few quirks. Never been a fan of touchscreen in my older vehicle where my friends always kept touching it and leave smudges all over the screen. Now I don’t have to deal with that.
I agree with techenthusiast, once you get used to the Mazda "mouse" and buttons you wont want to go back to a regular touchscreen.
@@WiscTJK Plus the Apple Car play and Android Auto make the system a breeze to use. I lately use one button on the steering wheel(Voice control) to do most of my navigation 🤣🤣🤣

Mazda 6, 2006. - just press and keep pressed lock or unlock button on your key for about 3 seconds and all windows go down or up depending on if you're locking or unlocking your car.
My brand new CX-50 has this dope anti-theft feature where the battery dies overnight... Literally less than 1k miles on it 😂
Yep I'm having the same issue with my 2021 CX 5 where the battery keeps dying and I have no idea why but I suspect it's a problem with the key fob or the TCU software.
I just bought a new 2023 Mazda3 H/B w/ manual transmission. I love the car and am trying to learn all of the features. Do you know how to turn off the DRL lights? I believe one time I did something with the turn signal stalk and they turned off or maybe that was the headlights? I also know that you can disable them in the settings.
I think your number three was how to leave the info screen on when turning the car off with the auto trans but what about the manual trans? I know that when the car is off, you can hit the start button twice without depressing the clutch or brake pedal for an automatic.
I believe to turn daytime running lights off you go into settings, vehicle settings(?) exterior lighting, and there should be an option for DRL and a box to uncheck.
Great tips! Altough, why would you turn off Adaptive CC? I thought it cause less fatigue while driving long distances.
I have read my owners manual especially when I needed to pair my garage door opener too the button in our GMC . But your mostly right with most people not looking at the owners manual . enjoyed your video .
Note…the system will automatically turn the adaptive cruise back on with each restart. You have to manually go in and turn it back off again each start if you don’t want it.
Same thing for the automatic e-brake. you can turn the auto feature off but the next re-start it will revert back to its default command
@@jjrebel2543 Is there a way to disable this auto feature and only do it manually? I would like to leave my ebrake off and just leave my manual transmission in first or reverse instead of having the ebrake on. And how do you keep it off in winter so the ebrake will not freeze on hold?
@@t.k.morris you can hold the Parking brake button down when turning off the car. You have to do this each time. However, if you use the remote start feature, the parking brake will turn back on automatically when the session ends or when you enter the vehicle. That’s what I found as well. It’s a one-time change. 😕
Going to try the window thing on our 2021 M3 100 anniversary tomorrow
Does the apple car play touch screen work. on the 2023 cx5 premium plus?
Gonna have to try the shift knob button to keep the radio on. Never knew that one!
If you already turned the car off, another option is to hit the start button with no foot on the brake. Infotainment will stay on for 15-20 min.
I absolutely looooove this coz I’m getting mine next week 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 thank you. Keep them coming plzzzzzzz
Keeping the CarPlay on saved me. This was such an irk before. Ty!!
Actually, you don’t even have to leave your foot on the break if you just hold the shift button while turning it off, it’ll stay on at least in my CX5 the timer to 20 minutes in my CX five and you can reset the timer if you just tap the break once
I'd prefer if my car didn't break! 😉
@@devilsadvocate2548 Yes, whenever you want to turn off the car without turning off the radio/infotainment just hold the shift button and turn off vehicle while pressing, infotainment stays on :)
@@JulioGonzalezMxli I think you completely misunderstood what I was getting at! :-)
I also didn’t know how to keep the side mirrors from tilting down when in reverse.
my favorite hidden feature in the cx-5 is after 30k miles, you unlock the hidden ghost screen feature. a hidden gem that isn’t available to leasees.
Also, even if you are in D mode, you override and shift up or down with your paddle shift. Sort of like auto and manual mode altogether
I too observed this but then how to come back to normal D mode after? (Don't remember what I did 😊)

Nice tips guys. I love radar cruise and wouldn't buy a car without it now. On my second vehicle with it now.
Renting a RAV4 or Camry with unlimited miles included for your next road trip is a suggestion I'd give you if you're curious about it
Ah what a throwback. The BRZ video, detailing the hidden features was the first video of yours I ever watched
Oh my goodness, me too!
The USB in the glovebox!
In Europe there is a speed limiter as well as cruise control. If you have the limiter set and press the kick button it will override the limiter and speed up.
Neither the window trick nor the touch screen option is do-able on the '21/'22 cx30 premium
Also the adaptive cruise does not come on “automatically” you have to still enable it xD
Great Info! Do you know how to make it so when your phone is connected you don't sound muted to whom ever is on the other side of the call? 3:00 I have a Mazda 3 2020 but its Manual. Now im interrested if there is a way for manual cars to do it like this. Its super annoying that the infotainment goes out.
THX
You don’t get the Tilty mirror thing on the lower trim models. My 23 cx30 isn’t equipped
Interesting! I knew about the tilting side mirrors but didn’t know about the other features. I am trying the window feature as soon as I go outside this morning. Thanks!
I knew about the side windows but I am not sure if mine are working or if I don't have something set correctly. Like the key fob maybe or the mirror adjustment switch??
The procedure for turning off the vehicle while leaving the Connect on is not well understood. Do you know if it also works for Mazda CX-60? Thank you
That trick that you did with the remote for the windows, if you did the same thing but hit the lock button instead?
It puts the remote into sleep mode to save the battery. (It will still lock and unlock the vehicle but it won’t start the vehicle, not unless you put the remote to the start/stop button.
Another: if you have the 360 camera, you can access it at any speed. This comes in very handy for when squeezing between a car and a curb when making a right (in Vegas, we have enough room to fit two full size vehicles in the right lane, given that they have some form of road adequate do so)
Also comes in handy at drive-throughs so you don’t curb rash your wheels
@@jandia5162 it won’t wake the remote back up, you more than likely took it out of sleep mode (which is the exact same way as putting it in sleep mode)

NO. Not all options are the same across models. Many do NOT have the touch screen option.
Interesting as well is the fob sleep mode. Not that you would want it to happen but sometimes it accidentally happens and you need it to turn off. This is noticed when suddenly your fob doesn't seem to be working.
Will the window feature’s work on a 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback ? Or do you have other videos on 2019 Mazda’s ?
Can you elaborate
I find that immensely valuable when you need to slam the accelerator to get out of a sticky situation but forgot you were in manual mode and don't have your hand on the shifter.
I rarely like steelies, but they actually look pretty good on that car.
