      Man, I did this wrong before watching the vid and now my revs are crazy at start (over 1.5k), and has problems shifting. Do you have a video showing how to relearn turtle body pc?

      Make sure the car is off, unplug the battery 🔋 and wait 30min. Then plug it back in. You might need a new MAF sensor if you messed with it, MAF sensors are delicate af.

    Very simple, I have done this before on various vehicles. This throttle body was quite clean and didn't really need cleaning but if you do it early like this it will stay clean longer and run better. Good job!

    Thank you Felix. I followed your directions exactly. They were perfect. My finger wasnt strong enough to unplug the throttle sensor wire but I used a flat head screwdrive and gently pressed it and it was easier. My 2018 cx5 has 18,000 miles on it. Although I have used CRC intake cleaner through the intake to clean it at 10,000 miles, this was the first time I removed the throttle body. There was a half inch ring of carbon on the backside. Now my car runs quieter and smoother.

    Just cleaned it out myself. Thanks for the tutorial. I will say that I struggled removing the wire harness from the throttle body. In the end I left it connected and was careful not to spray around the intake or anywhere else nearby. Used lots of micro fiber towels. My 2016 Cx-5 has 160k miles and was never cleaned before.

      Thank you. Appreciate the positive comment. PCV Valve is hidden underneath the intake manifold. Please watch my other video on how to clean intake valves for the removal of the intake manifold to access the PCV Valve. Cheers.

      scbs warning light will turn on if the windshield sensors are dirty. have you try cleaning the laser sensor on the windshield?

    Thanks! One less thing to pay a dealership or mechanic. Looks pretty straightforward. My only advise: please use gloves when dealing with solvents. Not using them is a quick road to a preventable cancer down the road.

    I followed this and your other videos and cleaned our CX-5 MAP and MAF sensors and throttle body. The back side of the throttle body was very different. We have seen a nice improvement in fuel economy. Is there any relearn for the electric throttle body to help idle? Thx!

      Generally let the car idle and drive for 5 to 10 mins around the block normally would be sufficient.

      this video i did not need to reprogram the TB. I would recommend to do the Relearn process to make sure everything is under control.

      It should relearn by itself just let the car idle for 5 to 10 mins after the service is done. Please note to disconnect negative battery first b4 doing this service.

    do u need to do a throttle body reset? because from what i know from honda if you were to clean the TB u need to send it to the SC to have it relearn, if not it way experience jerking when u release the gas pedal. I've experienced it on my 14' accord

      yeap thats correct , in some cases you do have to do relearn process n some other case you dont. Depends on the car reacts after the TB service.

    Hello. What does the breather hose do? Can I use this to introduce a cleanser like Seafoam to the intake while the engine is running?

      breather hose allows an internal combustion engine to vent crankcase pressure out of the engine. to use seafoam chemical you have to spray it through the Throttle body while engine is running not through the breather hose. Please confirm this direction of use should be on the bottle.

      Yes personally i would do at about 50k to 60k kms … i would recommend to do yours now at 80K kms. It should be dark brown by now… you will see the difference after the fluid replacement with new atf filter.

      Best is to replace the worn out parts. If you can source 2nd hand for fraction of thr costs of new part in good cond at your local wreckers it would be even better.

      Hi Aldo. It is recommended to replace tge TB gasket . But if your gasket is still in good working order you do not replace it. But if you have the luxury to replace might aswell replace it just for peace of mind. Any TB cleaner will do the trick. If you touch it accidently for a second it should be alright just as long as you do not force it open and closed. You will damage the inner parts of the TB assy. Thank you for your time.

    Ive been told to only clean the throttle body with the electronic bit (IACV?) above the TB so that the cleaner doesn't get pulled into the electronic parts

    All nice and clean except when u disconnect the battery you need a diagnose to erase eventual errors and u have to reset the car windows too,u forgot to mention that part.
    So you might end up going to the dealership anyways.Other than that ur good to go

      GDI intake valve cleaner is safe to use , just have to use it as per the manual . i believe you only need to loosen the intake hose and slide in the CRC intake nozzle and spray the cleaner every 2 to 3 second interval while someone inside the car hold the gas pedal to 3000rpm for a couple of minutes . But please do read the CRC cleaner manual prior doing this. I am uncertain about the engine noise you are referring to . it could be anything . what kind of engine oil are you using . and how often do you change your engine oil . Thank you

      @@FelixDanGarasiAuto Changed every 6 months, engine oil is liquy moly (molygen, green) 5w20 (0w20 on engine cap, so I think it is ok), the sound stard around month ago. Yesteday the macanic changed to 5w40 molyge, I live in central america.

But a month a go not sound to louder. I will try to clean the MAF and the air sensors, also the throttle body as on your videos, seems easy.
      Also wanto clean the valves with GDI intake valve cleaner but have some fear on
      ruin the engine. I
      I would appreciate it very much if you could make a video of how to do this.

      Use small flat head to push the connector tab and then push and pull the connector, it should work.

      usually if the TB is dirty you will experience rough idle / hesitation in acceleration. Effecting gas milage.

      I left the connector on, removed all 4 screws then turn turn the tb over u get a better view of the tab.

    Hope you can answer, if theres a problem in throttle body the one you took off and cleaned it, my CX5 2015 shows that DPF malfunction, so, can be problem in throttle body?

      Thank you for your answer, i got these malfunction lights on: SCBS, Electric parking brake, Tire pressure light and check engine light on. Next day DPF malfunction showed up, went to MAZDA service and they said they couldnt access DPF software in my CX5 , so they would charge me 900$ for new throttle body, dpf regen, temperature sensor in exhaust and removing lights on dashboard that malfunctioned. Sorry for this long question, you got any idea what it could be, the day I got these lights and stuff was heavy snow and mud.

      yes it will be reset, i think you can also re activate the i stop feature after wards. Have a browse on google im sure you will find the how to’s. TB relearn is to let it idle for 10 minutes and then press n hold the gas pedal on 3000rpm for 3 to 5 mins then to 4000rpm to 3 to 5 mins.

    After cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor I have 1500 rpm with warm start and I can´t get more than 2000 rpm with full throttle. I also have check enginge light and traction control warning in the dashbord on. It was running perfectly fine before. Did I broke the throttle body? I have disconnected the battery for 1 hour hopping to reset the TB, but no luck. Ifull open the TB while cleaning it. What can I do? Is there a way to quickly restart the ECU and do throttle relearning with Skyactive?

      Please check all wiring make sure it is connected properly. By the way did u force it open the TB while cleaning ? If you have you might damage the electricity inside of the TB. to confirm this you will need a OBD tool scanner / MSDS scanner to see the fault. But then again do a recheck and disconnect the battery for 10 mins and restart the car.

      Ian Cho i have not done intake chamber cleaning to the mazda cx 5 . But i have done some using CRC brand and nulon brand in the past and get some great results.

    Hey ive been having an issue with my 2014 mazda 6 starting up fine, then during idle it goes up to 1500 rpm in park or stopped in drive. I cleaned the throttle body as it was very dirty, now the issue is amplified slightly with idling at a higher rpm, is there a way to reset the throttle, so it knows what to idle at? If so, how do we reset it?

      Have you done the relearn process or reset ecu by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. Then Let the car idle for 5 mins , hold the rev to 2000rpm for 3 - 5 mins , hold the rev to 3000rpm for 3 - 5 mins . Then let the car idle for 5 mins. Shut off the car and restart it after a 5 mins. Then drive as per normal.

      If the car operates normally once u assembled it. Do not worry about it. Just dont moved it with force often as you may broken some internal parts within the Throttle body.

      to prevent electrical shorting. if you only want to replace intake tube you dont have to disconnect negative terminal.

The mazda authorised service told me after the cleaning that the intake manifold, appeared very dirty from carbon. They told me that the intake manifold should disassembly
      and should be cleaned with Ultrasound. The cost is 500 Euro and I don't know if its true or false damage. As I did a research in the Internet, I found nothing about. Please let me know if you know something to help me on this matter. Thank you anyway you are very kind.

      @@scriptamanent6235 yes you will require service the intake valves cleaning (walnut blasting) and needs to remove the manifold to get to the intake valves. Maybe check around as 500 euro is a little too much....

    Your vid was good but I don’t recommend using cloth towels inside the throttle body. Use paper towels so that there’s no chance of fibers getting in between the shaft. Also since you’re already taking off the intake air duct, why not clean the mas air flow sensor?

    I owned a 2017 Mazda CX-5 and over the years trying my very best maintaining it myself and with six years at 140,000 the troubles were very minimal. Regular routine including keeping the throttle body grime free but there's one thing that I never had any success dealing most "harnessees" inside of any car. I suck at it and if I'm not familiar with it I will always destroy it while trying and ask questions later. And regarding my Cx-5 I never did figured out how to remove that throttle body harness and over the years. Over the years I would just let it sat on top of the air filter box and clean it there after removing it out of the snorkle and the intake. I was so sad as I watch this video with anticipation that you will mention something about it but you just removed it so lightning fast it was like Clint Eastwood killing both The Bad and The Ugly with just one bullet. Yeah it was fast.

      check your MAF sensor watch my other video on how to clean and unplug the MAF sensor . unplug the connection and try starting the car as normal. if its starts to drive okay without stalling then thats your issues.

      murky yeap for me its dirty enough. Easier to maintain in the long run rather than having to clean a much dirtier T/body with lots of carbon build up.

    Is it safe to clean the throttle plate by having someone hold down the gas pedal while the car is in the on position? That way you aren't moving the throttle plate by hand and can get the carb on the edges more quickly without taking it all the way off.

      yeah you can also do this but be very careful though. maybe dont brush it just spray it with good amount of Tb cleaner. so not risking damaging the motor plate.

      The ecu resets it self after disconnecting the battery .

    Wow,I was going to be charged $169 for cleaning the throttle, although I didn't have it clear if may have include the manifold...
    What ia that spray youused here? Carburator cleaner???

    How do you remove that throttle body connector at 1:41? I keep burning my fingers on the black hose when I try get at it. lol

      Once you have press the tab. You must push in the connector in then pull slowly.

      @@FelixDanGarasiAuto Hey man, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I figured it out, there's a little tab on the middle of the front-facing side. It took a torch to be able to see it and a plastic letter opener to be able to depress it properly while pulling the plug off.
