Great to see another guy who likes and knows Mazda engines. The pipe joining onto that pressure sensor blocks very often too. And very few people or technicians check to see if it is clear 🤷🏼‍♂️
    Well done mate 👍👍

Hello. Thanks for time and info you are sharing with all us mortals ;)
    I have 2.2D Mazda CX-5 Optimum 4x4 from 2016; with counter on 101200km.
I had today my car at the Mazda car dealer to change engine oil and filter. Don't be surprised; I'm handy to some extend, but offer I had for change of engine oil was very attractive. This was probably because they tried to kept me as customer since I bought car as a used one from them a year ago; with used-car warranty for duration of 12 months which by the coincidence expired few days ago.
Mazda dealer reported that had read one fault related to Exhaust Pressure sensor and recommends that sensor to be changed. That offer is around 300 Euro. As soon as I returned from dealer I found and watched this video. Then I called dealer to clarify situation about earlier recalls and if DPF is included in the offer. Dealer states that my car is per day definitely out of warranty and that DPF is not included in the offer.
Let me be clear, neither I had warning light on the dashboard this morning (last month), nor I have it at this moment.
Luckily for me and my family, I just safely drove 6000+ km this summer holiday.
definitely more times lower on the diesel level than in that moment. I
    - Is the problem you described related to only earlier models or is generally appearing on diesel models, even newer once?
    - What would you recommend; changing only Exhaust Pressure sensor as offered by dealer, or in package with DPF?
    - Since my car is from 2016, I suppose that sensor type in my car is of the improved one. Does that means that it should fit and be of the same size as the one you used for replacement in your video. Does that mean that none of shortening the hose will be needed. Comment?
    - Watching your video and reading through all comments, I came across two part numbers for the Exhaust Pressure sensor.
SHY6-18-W00 (written on the box showed in your video), or
SH01 187G (I believe stated by you in some of comments)
Which one of above is correct?
    - When you done the replacement; did you disconnect car battery completely; both poles; and in which sequence?
    - Is there any consequence for the car computer/NAV/Entertainment system/etc. when disconnecting battery that I should consider in advance?
I would certainly appreciate your feedback.
A long comment from one of your watchers on Friday afternoon; something you just needed after a hard working day ;)
    Thank you in advance
    Greetings from Norway

Hi, I would replace both DPF and Exhaust sensors at the same time. The Exhaust sensor part number I used is SHY6-18-W00. Not sure what the difference is with the other one. The exhaust sensor costs around 100 euros, the DPF sensor can be found at bigger auto parts stores. Both are relatively easy to replace. For the exhaust sensor, you need to cut the hose to the same length as previous one and USE THE NEW WIRING SET. Not sure what the dealer offer includes?! But battery should be disconnected, one post removal is enough. You have to enter all your settings to the radio, clock and navi after the battery being disconnected. One more thing that is actually good to clean every year is the MAP sensor. It is located on the left hand side under the intake manifold. That one needs a gentle cleaning and spray with sensor cleaner. All of these will have you diesel humming again. Make sure to clear all possible codes as well.

Have you had this problem before? I've recently bought a mazda 6 2.2D Sport Nav and it went into limp mode but the dealer fixed it under warrenty, he said the problem was a build up of carbon in the EGR filter. Within 2 months it's gone again. I'm. Wondering has he bodged it and sent me on my way and maybe this was the issue all along and he couldn't find it. My warrenty is now up and I'm considering doing this instead. oh and did you buy your part from mazda or somewhere else?

CARE: You are such a star for making this video, thank you BUT be careful as I've had a Mazda CX-5 2.2 150BHP diesel since new in UK and its done just over 100K miles. I guessed it was carboned up even though I tried to take it for regular motorway runs & the odd 'Italian Tune up'. I had the inlet manifold de-carbonised and had the speciaslist engine centre take photos of the ports, they were ALL 1/3 the size they should have been - the rest was carbon. After getting the car back, its like a different motor although it took a while for the engine to re-learn that its no longer all choked up. My Exhausr Gas Pressure sensor (right hand one) was also becoming faulty (carboned I guess) with non-linear acelleration & SCBC & TPWS lights coming on - your great video made me change it and probelms solved. I think Mazda nowadays recommend an inlet manifold de-cocke every 40K miles or so which I 100% agree with. Only thing that wont have been de-carbonned will be the backs of the valves and not sure how bad these will be

UPDATE! You are a genius, the only helpful video on youtube. Yeaterday the car wouldnt start (see below) but today after charging the battery the car started and ALL error codes are gone.! Thank you so much for uploading this, especially for showing the exact part with serial number to be replaced. Saved me hundreds of pounds. Many greetings!
Hi, thanks for this video. I hope it was helpful and the reason I'm saying it its because of further issues. Anyway last week fault code p2262 came first and then all sorts of other codes mentioned in your video. Anyway my husband replaced the sensor (recommended in video SHY6-18-W00) and then tried to start the car however lights at dashboard lit up and flashed like Christmas tree! Also gauges flipped, then lights went out but keyless system inspection required message displayed. What is the problem? Can you help? The car was in the driveway for over a week in cold weathet so maybe its the battery? I only bought the car 4 weeks ago and I'm flipping out! Its a mazda cx5 2014. I would appreciate any suggestions Ta

Hi sorry for the late response. When you replaced the battery, I suppose there was no codes at the time?! 2nd part, sorry to hear this, but did you replace the DPF sensor as well at that time? A combination of these will help the most. My CX is also a 2014 model. So- for the moment, I would replace the DPF sensor (shown on my video) and see what it does. If you have replaced both of them already, then you need to see what codes are coming up.

I watched this video and bought the Sensor Kit - SHY618W00 for £73 on Arnold Clark auto parts. Having fitted this over the weekend it’s removed all the fault codes I had and got the car accelerating how it should again. No doubt if done in a garage it would be £100s for this work so thank you very much for making this video. Trickiest part of the install for me was replacing the hose. I was tempted to just trim the original one by around an inch but decided against it. I’m a bit nervous of whether the cables are protected enough from the heat so plan to add a bit more protection to it. I should add that before replacing this sensor, I had previously replaced the DPF pressure sensor but that didn’t solve the issues.

    • @cronk216
      @cronk216  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hello, thanks for your comments. Do you still have the new hose that came with the kit? You need long needle nose pliers, remove the old one for measure and apply wd-40 on the tube ends and they should slide on place. Carefully slide the pressure clips in place and you should be good to go. Hope you used the new wiring harness??

Ended up changing the sensor myself for £70 a week ago and so far it's been running great! Hopefully this has sorted the issue and you've saved me replacing a turbo which didn't need replacing (and wouldn't have fixed the issue)

Really appreciate this video and the follow up, just wanted to share my experience in case it can help others.
I had Christmas Tree lights and loss of power - I suspected on a 6 year old car on its original battery that it was at fault but replacing it led to no improvement.
Got a code scan done bringing back P0472 for exhaust sensor and this led me to your video. Got the part from the main dealer UK Price July 2022 was £69 and pence. I'm not usually the sort to work on my car but bumbled my way through the fitment once I figured out the jigsaw of the new parts by looking at the videos and comparing to the original part.
Initially wondered why the provided loom bridging cable was so long but you can loop it round the DPF sensor connector and that keeps everything flush and pulled together. I cut down the original hose rather than swap it as I didn't want to deal with another spring clip and was running out of knuckle skin to leave inside the engine bay.
Once fitted and negative terminal reattached on the battery all my warnings cleared and the car now drives correctly, with full power.
Massive, massive thanks for the video you've not only saved me a fortune and all the worry, but saved a family holiday we are due to go on in the car next week. 👍👍👍

Recently got a dpf warning and then a dpf malfunction light and dpf guys resolved it, cleaned the exhaust and even said that it wasn't a lot of sooth there to give the warning at all. Next day same thing happened and same light was on. They said if that happens then its probably just the sensor and its not dangerous. Now Im thinking should I just clear the code every time it happens as its just because of a bad sensor or can this still be an issue? Thank you!

Hi. I’ve replaced the pressure sensor with the metal one (old one burnt out), also replaced Intake Manifold pressure sensor (found that it was broken), scan reading shows P2262 and P0299 (turbo charger under boost). DPF deleted, intake manifold cleaned, but about to clean the EGR. Vehicle in limp mode and struggles to pull away while in between 1000 to below 3000 revs (stutters and kind of misfires). As soon as it gets to 3000 revs it picks up power but shortly after loses power again.

    • @cronk216
      @cronk216  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

This car has complicated logic from DPF and exhaust related issues. Mine has developed TPMS and SCBS warnings without limp mode recently. Mazda service advisor mentioned that these are common codes that come in bunches. I explored ABS, SAS module issues based on his advice. Expensive stuff, did not believe this was the cause, and kept driving with my sensor. Now, finally the DPF showed true and is blocked. I have to remove it and get it professionally flushed clean. I will de-carbon manifold, EGR and related pipes as well. So- Even those ABS and SAS module codes show up and looks like in my case a prelude for the DPF issue to come up.

Sorry I don't have a video on that. The metal bracket fits similar as the old one. The rubber hose needs to be shortened a bit (Mainly so you can bolt the sensor in place). If you set the tube in place and model the sensor next to it how low it has to go you can easily shorten the rubber hose to fit. Then use some light lubricant at the lower end, slide the hose in place and use long needle pliers to clamp it. Then sensor end, repeat process and then bolt it to the engine. NOTE: Use the new wiring harness! Hope this helps.
