    That is cool, but it still years away from what people want, like if you are two in the same room it had been great if a "host" could share a window that are in the same spot for booth users, like a scoreboard, a whiteboard or just Netflix so you could simulate a larger screen.

    i just tested v67 and for my usecase it's not really at a point i personally want it to be. I often use 2D windows while i am in a 3D native app or using Virtual Desktop. I often have a browser, chat, audio player or notpad website open in the background while in a game.
    Either i play music or have to check something, so i press the menu button to see and control the 2D apps. And here comes the 1st issues. Only one window is left at the center and it always snaps to the same position. If i resize it and go back and forth between 3D and 2D it always snaps to the default size, which is very annoying. At least this worked in v66. The option of having the windows near and further away also seem to be removed.
    In older versions you could actually have the three fixed windows open at the same time, but that also has been removed. The whole idea of having multiple 2D apps running in the background is reduced to the bare minimum with this new firmware.
    In addition to this the windows positioning with the controllers is not very good. You could pick a window and move it to a specific position, but if you want to move it back and forth you cannot use the thumbstick, which would be the most intuitive way if you use a controller.
    I really wonder who does the actual tests at Meta for different usecases. It all may work if you just want to to work with a couple of 2D and using hand tracking, but once you use the controllers and a combination between 2D and 3D/VR it's barely usable.

    1: Is it possible to make a video player (native browser, app browser or even an app like bigscreen) even bigger? Sometimes when I'm watching streams I want to be able to zoom in on specific parts of the video to view details of what they're doing.
    2: Is it possible to have one video in full screen and one video in an adjustable window that you can move around? The purpose for this being while watching a movie, sometimes there are dull parts in the movie and I want to play a youtube video instead while things pick up in the main movie.

      1. The best way to do this is to just resize the screen yourself. Bigscreen has somewhat static sizes. I think a browser and grabbing the corner and making it really large would be best. I Fluid you can make them really big. Maybe a bit bigger than the quest OS
      2. The “full screen button” removes the other windows in the quest os so I’d recommend the same here just make one screen super huge and the other small right next to you. This is totally possible. Check out this video for more examples

    I recently only just got my quest 3 so still getting used to it

    • @TheConstruct_VR
      @TheConstruct_VR  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The versions are staggered rollouts from Meta. After some use your headset will pick up the update. Sometimes leaving it on standby (connected to WiFi) during the day helps. You can force it to update but it’s a bit involved and you need a PC check it out here: www.meta.com/help/quest/software_update/
      Otherwise give it a few days and then you’ll notice when you go to shutdown, the quest will ask if you’d like to do the update before shutting down.
      Enjoy the new Quest!

      What do you mean alignment? I thought about that with the dock. A lot of people don’t like the dock but I think it’s good for quickly getting 3 screens aligned

      Ps: one feature to make it disappear is a button to show and hide grid, ya align the windows and then hide the grid, like in the camera apps.

      @@The3kproduction maybe so, but I try not to get tied up in horsepower. Like even on the Apple Vision Pro or just a PC or MAC. I’m not using more than 6 windows at once. Just because it can doesn’t mean you go full throttle all the time.
      I get it though. I think augments it’s a bit of a different use case than just a workspace. If you want to map an entire room with windows or widgets you’ll need more than 6. It will need the performance which is probably why augments were delayed.
