    And furthermore to say that Apple is doing a disservice for charging this much for a headset is wild! Now don't get me wrong. I'm not an Apple Fanboy and I think there are a lot of Apple products that are way overpriced but I can say with full confidence that this device was reasonably priced for what they are trying to achieve and deliver. Which is the most advanced AR /vr headset on the market and it's not even close.

  • @wesleykelly2853
    @wesleykelly2853 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    😅 I feel like this is a short-sighted opinion about the Apple vision pro. As an AVP owner and a quest 3 owner, I can tell you that there's no comparing the two. These are both vastly different devices for too vastly different consumers. I think it's always important to start out saying "in my opinion". Maybe if you actually owned the AVP for a whole day, maybe you'd understand how they are. Totally not trying to be the quest 3. I have a phone and I also have a laptop but I'm not that mad at my laptop for not being my phone and my phone not being a laptop. They both have their use cases. Sure, you can do similar things on each device, but things that you would rather do on one you'd rather do on the other one.

    • @TheConstruct_VR

      Hey thanks for dropping a comment! I saw your other one too. So we agree on the price being absurd, that’s good. 😄. A few things, a random dude on the internet is always an opinion. It’s the price that really what supports my opinion in this video. A lot of people seem to think that if I owned one or spent more time that I would feel differently.. Sure one demo is short sighted but I have used one a few times ore times since that demo and my option hasn’t changed. Even the market has decided that this isn’t a consumer friendly device. But let me be clear, I never said it was bad, it just wasn’t different enough to justify the cost. It SHOULD be better than Quest for $3500. In fact it better be. But it is but it’s not 7 times better (in my opinion). The AVP if was priced competitively would be hailed as the best headset to ever adorn our heads. But they didn’t do enough to make the market care 7 times more. Its unique use cases are great but hard to justify if I can do them elsewhere (in lower quality of course ) and then get the bonus of gaming. No one is confused about the AVPs superior hardware we just don’t care that much. Owning one would just turn me into an apologist, justifying my purchase to those who’ve chosen not to get it. It’s not about comparing it to the Quest as much as it is actively opting-out as most MR/vR needs are being met for far less. Lastly this isn’t the market being mad that the AVP isn’t the same as their Quest. This is more like a refrigerator that cost 7 times more than yours that adds WiFi, a clear door made of sapphire, connectivity to your online grocery store, with internal depth cameras and a built in beer tap. Yeah it’s better, it’s just most people don’t want it bad enough. Their food is already kept cold. .

      @@TheConstruct_VR I appreciate You taking the time to respond to me. I think we actually agree on a lot-especially on price being a major barrier. No doubt, the Vision Pro is a niche product, and Apple made a deliberate choice to price it that way. But I’d argue its value isn’t just about how much ‘better’ it is than a Quest in a linear sense (like being 7x better because it costs 7x more). It’s about redefining how people interact with spatial computing, and that shift isn’t always immediately obvious in a traditional market comparison." "Your fridge analogy is a good one, but still is shorted in my opinion. It’s not just a fancier fridge-it’s like the first smart fridge before people knew why they’d want one. Some shrugged, some saw the potential, and over time, what seemed like an unnecessary luxury became standard in high-end appliances. The Vision Pro may follow that path, or it may not-early adoption is always messy." Complaining about the vision pro being just an expensive fridge That’s like saying a Ferrari is just an expensive wheelbarrow because both have wheels. A refrigerator keeps your food cold-great! But the Vision Pro isn’t trying to store leftovers; it’s redefining how we interact with digital content. It’s not for everyone, but dismissing it because it doesn’t chill your groceries is like complaining that your smartphone isn’t a microwave. Just doesn't work for that analogy. Ultimately, I think where we differ is perspective: Is the Vision Pro failing because the mass market doesn’t care, or is it just too early in the adoption curve? Apple’s first iPhone wasn’t the best ‘phone’ in a traditional sense, but it changed how we thought about mobile devices. Whether the Vision Pro follows suit remains to be seen.

    • @wesleykelly2853
      @wesleykelly2853 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheConstruct_VR Also, let’s be real-Mark Zuckerberg calling the Vision Pro overpriced is pretty ironic when Meta is trying to build AR glasses that do everything the Vision Pro can, but their prototype still hasn’t made it off the shelf and reportedly costs around $10,000 to make . If anything, we should applaud Apple for even managing to ship a product and get it down to $3,500. We can debate whether that’s ‘worth it’ to consumers, but it’s a huge technical achievement regardless.

    • @wesleykelly2853
      @wesleykelly2853 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheConstruct_VR and in my very bold opinion Apple has officially set the bar for what an AR/VR headset needs to be moving forward. This isn’t just another headset-it’s the new standard. If a headset isn’t delivering at least a 4K display per eye, micro-OLED pancake lenses, top-tier spatial computing, and all the other specs the Vision Pro brings to the table, then honestly, what are we even doing? Anything less is just outdated tech trying to play catch-up." "This is exactly what Apple did with the iPhone. Before 2007, we had physical keyboards, resistive touchscreens, and clunky interfaces. Then Apple came in and said, ‘If your phone doesn’t have a multitouch screen, it’s time to move on. If it can’t hold your music, it’s not good enough. If it can’t browse the web, send texts, and make calls all in one device, it’s already behind.’ That wasn’t just about making a better phone-it redefined what a phone had to be." "The Vision Pro is doing the same thing for AR/VR. No one wants to wear a bulky, low-res, half-baked headset anymore. If a device isn’t meeting these basic standards, it’s already obsolete. We’re past the phase where people are willing to compromise on quality just to save a few bucks. If you’re building a headset in 2025 and you’re not at least hitting Vision Pro’s level as the starting point, it’s time to go back to the drawing board

    • @wesleykelly2853
      @wesleykelly2853 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Also Ever since the Vision Pro dropped, Meta has been scrambling to add features that mimic what Apple is doing. They’ve been tweaking UI, adding improved passthrough modes, and pushing software updates to match features the Vision Pro set as the new standard. If the Quest was already ‘better,’ why is Meta suddenly trying so hard to catch up?

    I like to see you do a speed test with your new router to see what your real internet speed is. While Virtual Desktop say "500mbps" with H264+, it's not guaranteed speed, or the speed you are getting, that's just the "up to" speed with that particular codec assuming you hardwired the internet and have the optimal internet setup. I have 7 year old 5ghz router, I have a 3080Ti with 124GB desktop that's in 3 rooms away from my router and the signal is weak and can only get on the 2.4ghz bandwidth. Running a speed test, I got 14mbps, I installed a plug in to the power socket wifi extender with 2.4/5ghz, I plugged my ethernal cable directly into my wifi extender and my computer. I can play steam vr racing games like Racing and Assetto Corsa just fine, Virtual Desktop says "500mbps" everytime I connect my pc to Quest 3, but running a speed test, I only getting 90mbps on 5ghz bandwith. which is much better what I was getting without the wi-fi extender. I am curious to see what everyone else is getting.

    • @TheConstruct_VR
      @TheConstruct_VR วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey thanks for dropping a comment. Just so I’m clear, we’re not talking about internet speed, but rather network speed… more specifically bitrate. So the 500mbps is an “up to” bitrate but it’s a larger lane for the video to get to the headset. So for example if you were to set the bitrate to 90mbps then you would see much lesser quality as the video would try to fit inside that small bitrate.

The linksys ax6000 is fine but for wireless PCVR having a dedicated router with nothing else using the signal can help too. I went over board less crowded band AND dedicated router. The v72 Remote Desktop has some big disadvantages: 1. Virtual displays support: it supports only 3 virttual displays maximum, with resolution locked to 1920x1200 - and you can't change it to neither more nor less. Also, it doesn't support portrait orientation for the virtual displays. Technically you can change the orientation to portrait in Windows display settings, but the picture will become weird and screen won't rotate. 2. It works only via WiFi, and has no option to connect to the PC via cable (or I haven't found it - so correct me if I'm wrong). It may be an issue if you are somewhere with a shitty WiFi connection with your laptop (for example in a hotel). Of course it can be fixed with a portable WiFi router but it would make more sense (at least to me) to connect via cable instead. As for 1 - Virtual Desktop does support higher screen resolution, however still up to 3 virtual displays total, and not sure if it supports portrait display orientation, but it has a huge disadvantage: it costs money. In my personal opinion, the Immersed application in terms of the abovementioned features the best solution will be - Immersed. Even though it still has a lot of bugs and is glitching sometimes - Remote Desktop is basically just not there yet. I believe if Meta improves their Virtual Desktop in future adding more features to it - it will be the best choice. But not yet, IMHO.

    Just a quick question, if I have videos stored on the Skybox app on my PC does my computer have to be on for my headset to be able to see it or is it just if they're on the same WiFi connection?

      @@Benno288 yes it has to be on but not necessarily logged in if it’s Pulling from a shared folder, this is typical behavior for network shared folders.
