How To Remove The Oven Door On A Frigidaire Electric Stove (Useful For Cleaning)

- I had to clean my oven, so I figured that I would make a video that shows you how to remove the oven door on a Frigidaire electric stove. The process is really simple, and you can actually remove your oven door without any tools! This is extremely useful for cleaning your oven because it makes it much easier to get your hands and arms in there!

I want to tell you thank you for this video so much. We moved our stove to clean behind it. The door come off only on the left side and the lock was flat to the door. My son about broke his finger when it smaked back. We were all upset and screaming at the darn thing. Then I grabbed my phone and asked Google and your video popped up. With on one minute my son knew what was wrong. If you would have done such a easy to understand and straight to the point demo, we would have paid a repairman a 💯 to come out and get a great laugh. That lock thing was flat to the stove door so it had tremendous amount of tension, it actually broke our screwdriver trying to hold it and put the thing in proper engagement.
I think my wife would like to have your children. She's been struggling for hours to clean the stove and this makes it 500% easier. Thanks!! And fwiw, my stove is a Frigidaire Gallery series gas stove. Door removal worked exactly the same way.

So helpful! My wife accidentally removed the door off our oven and I couldn't figure out how to put it back on. The trick was the locking mechanism that you pointed out. Thank you so much!!
WARNING! The hinges have very powerful springs that will snap them back into the door as you pull them off the pin. If your thumb(s) is (are) in the wrong spot you could get a painful injury. Also, you will not be able to reinstall the door with the hinges contracted. You will need to pull them out with enough force to overcome the spring tension using pipe pliers (aka Channel Locks) then prop them out with the hinge locks.
I learned this the hard way. After much blood and pain, and a thumbnail that I will probably lose, DO NOT put your fingers anywhere near the hinge as you pull the door off!

Learned this the hard way yesterday. Also shattered the glass in the front of the door. Not sure what I did wrong, though!

Thank you! Had to remove baking element and it was a real pain with door in the way. I was concerned i won’t be able to reach inside and connect the electrical spades when new part gets here. Now it will be much easier with door out of the way. Thanks soooo much.

Right hinge was in the closed position on my mothers frigidaire stove . I was able to remove the door and reset it with the door removed and able to re-install the door to perfecr working order. Thank you!

Removal went great and easy after watching the video... However, for some reason reinstall is being a bigger headache than just leaving the door on to begin with... It keeps wanting to sit cockeyed with the left side not enagaging at all and resting on top of the bottom drawer..

OMG, this is exactly what I needed to know! But stopped short of taking the door apart to clean it. I'm hoping to just take out the "star" screws and the door will separate into two halves allowing me to clean the inside glass, yes? And put it back together the same way? Excellent instructions! If I had found your video earlier I would not have spent an hour and 17 minutes on the phone with whirlpool. Their owners manual is worthless. They actually emailed me the link to TH-cam videos which weren’t as good as yours.

There is a button on the sides of the door. If you press both, the black cover/top that holds the glass releases, so you can remove the two glasses. Cleaning my oven right now 🤓

Not same hinges on mine- googled model number and this came up🤷♀️
I did this, those hinges snapped back flush on the door when I remove it, now I can get it back on.
