    I have suffered with acid reflux since I was 19 years old I am now 58 I live in the United Kingdom and the NHS just keeps throwing Omeprazole at me, for the amount of money that the NHS is spent on medication for me it would have cost half as much to do corrective surgery, I cannot understand why the NHS in the United Kingdom keeps going on about saving money when they want even perform surgery on people that would eventually save them money.
    I'm glad you got your issue resolved because I know how bad acid reflux is

    I never hear anyone talk about what they do in the moment during an acid attack.
    I often wake up because stomach acid just shot up and I inhaled it by accident which is like choking on spit or water only it burns painfully while I either cough, huff or grunt it back out little by little, which also burns my throat more every time I do and so triggers a gag reflex. I have thrown up before because of it. But often I don’t because I have a fear of throwing up, and end up trying to not throw up, but still trigger a gag here and there, which only serves to make the experience more intense and frightening for me. As it causes me to try and suppress my attempts to hack up the acidic whatever’s in my air pipe. Sometimes we I drink small sips or water or milk, not knowing if it’s helping or hurting the problem.
    About 45 minutes ago, I woke up having felt like acid shot up, but I thought I caught it and swallowed it back before I could inhale it, and that it was just the slight touch on my throat causing an intense tickle that woke me up. But then it slowly started burning still and I was huffing up acid from my air pipe still complete with almost throwing up and intense burning. It’s only just now finally dying down a little.
    I was just wondering what the best thing to do during the moment was. Because I tried looking it up, and all I find are tips on how to try and try to prevent it. But nothing on how to react to it while it’s happening…

      It just happened to te for the first time in 27 years, and i'm googling like crazy.
      I woke up by vomiting in my mouth a little bit (i felt it coming in my dream), and i rushed to the toilet, my throat burns like crazy, and i spit a bit of blood in the sink. I sipped a bit of water aswell not knowing if it helps or not.
      Now after 20 minutes my throat still burns a bit, and i'm afraid to go back to sleep.
      It also feels like it awakened my asthma from the past, i mean my breathing is made a bit more difficult.
      Is this normal? Please tell me what is it if you have experience with it. Thank you. 😫

    • @Axxidous
      @Axxidous 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Paulo34343 Sometimes my breathing feelings rattly afterwards which likely means I accidentally inhaled even just a little bit of it. That can make it hard to breath without coughing and when you cough and huff it up to try and clear it from your wind pipe, it can burn so bad it causes a gag reflex.
      It feels like it causes mucus to build up in an attempt to coat the damaged flesh and so I have a lot of rough phlegm for a while as ab after affect.
      The last time I had an acid attack was that comment I left here and it was so bad I have that phlegm for about a week. I would feel completely normal then mid speech feel a rattle cone up and have to take a breath to cough it clear.

      You run a test with your doctor to rule out H. Pylori or peptic ulcer.
