Hi, I agree with all that has been listed in this video and I would like to add a little of my experiences to help anyone with Acid Reflux. I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2009 and had it removed in 2010. I was told that acid reflux was the probable culprit. My stomach is now much higher and I have to sleep with my head higher than my feet to stop acid reflux at night. Eating food that takes a long time to digest is a no no, (most cheeses, large amounts of meat, etc) Green peppers and green chilli peppers are difficult to digest, pastry is another one. I was told by my surgeon to eat little and often and that is the best advice I can offer, you can eat all the foods in the video above but not later than 6pm. Allow time for your stomach to digest the food long before you go to bed. Cut your meat into small pieces to help digestion and avoid wine and cheese at night. good luck.

You're blessed to have survived oesophagal cancer. My mother died within a year of being diagnosed. She had 9 inches of oeso removed in surgery but the cancer spread. Where did you have surgery? Most doctors say that it is one of the fatal cancers and not much can be done for the patient. I have begun suffering LPR silent acid reflux.

I have suffered with acid reflex for a while now and avoided most of the foods you mention in this video but now I can eat them all without acid reflux. I read an interesting article talking about how acid reflux is not caused by too much acid but rather not enough acid. Generalizing here it said that when your stomach acid is low your stomach isn't triggered to close the valve thus leading to heartburn. The trick is to feed your body things it can use to build up your stomach acid levels again so that the system can function normally. Apple cider vinegar, any vinegar really, lemon juice, turmeric, cinnamon etc. I've been eating those foods and my acid reflux has pretty much gone away after a month. Try and find information on this and share it with your audience. Building up your stomach acid levels is the key to beating heart burn. I'm walking proof of that.

Zinc deficiency causes low stomach acid like it did for me. But yet again dark chocolate weakness your LES and triggers it again so it’s a battle on why so many things can be contributing to acid reflux pain.

@@ZzyzzyxI wonder if the ones who say that acidic foods helps them even have acid reflux because tomatoes, soda, citrus fruits, onions, and things like doesn't help me but seems to do the opposite. What people don't consume enough acidic foods? Almost everyone with acid reflux no doubt consumes too much of them.

I started eating lemons with my tea lately in the past year. I just figured it out recently that every time I do I get horrendous acid reflux/bowel spasms that were causing chest pain where I thought I had heart problems. It was a nightmare until I realized what was happening. Popcorn is another. I am more sensitive now that I'm 50. My diet is so bland. Stress caused all this years ago. Take care of your health.

I occasionally get a mild acid reflux. I think it’s a combination of stress, which leads to junk-food eating and over-eating. Following some of these guidelines are helpful. Basically, bland foods for a while. A few years ago, I was in a highly stressful job where I was onsite at a client location for 6 month and had a bad case. I was eating terribly and also drinking more than I should and gain a good 10 lbs! I ate sweet potatoes, bananas, chopped green vegetables, apple sauce. Avoided processed foods (except vegetable pastas), caffeine, sugar. Wasn’t fun, but after a couple of months I felt fine and could eat more normally again.

After fighting with GERD, extreme pain, nausea etc. for at least 6 months I just found that if you eat smaller meals throughout the day, avoid foods that makes it worse and exercise a bit you will feel so much better after a while, I smoke a electronic cigarette, sometimes drink coffee and even alcohol is fine from time to time and I couldn't even eat properly like two months ago. It's also important to be mentally strong and get used to the pain, I had big anxiety and panic attacks from the pain all over my chest, but once I feel a bit unwell I just stop for a while, take a deep breath, drink some water and all is fine. And remember, water is your friend, it helps a lot. I will try the alkaline diet with a few changes because of food I can't eat and allergies, but they say it's really good to gain weight whilst having GERD. Be strong people!

PS - I've been on this for just few weeks and i can see results, it's very important as well to stay away from trigger foods while on this, Hope it helps I'm praying for each and every one of us here, God bless you all

You must go carnivore. No fruits, veggies, grains, coffee, tea, soda, alcohol. High fat dairy and meat only. We are not designed for plants which have built in poisons that are causing inflammation and chronic illnesses. It works. 80% of people in the western world have a chronic disease. The average American has 5. I have 3, with acid reflux being one of them. This diet works on all autoimmune diseases because of the fact that plants are the culprit of most illnesses. TRUTH! Any plant eating will lead to multiple chronic illnesses. Meat and high fat dairy only.

@@linavella3834 I would develop a tolerance to a PPI after 90 to 180 days. When the PPIs stop working and you're out of PPIs to try then you have no other option but surgery. My provider at the time who was a PA-C and thank whatever higher power is no longer practicing shortly after he left the State. This jackal went to the point to making me pay for Nexium out of my own pocket which wasn't on my HMO's drug formulary. Even his supervising physician said I was a surgery candidate. I finally had enough and went to another provider, also a PA-C, in that practice. He said I was a surgery candidate. His primary concern was if food was getting stuck going down. He signed off on the surgery recommendation and got it approved by my HMO. The only complication was one of my laparoscopic incisions opened up after the staples were removed because I sleep on my side or stomach. My domestic partner at the time previously worked as a MA in a surgery practice. Actually a competitor to the surgery practice that did my Nissen. She knew exactly what to do with respect to wound care and calmed me down when it opened up. It looked like an immature xenomorph burst out of my abdomen. Now it looks like I have a GSW. Makes for an interesting conversation piece along with the scars from my spine surgery (fused C3-T4, I have a C-spine x-ray that James Cameron and the late Stan Winston would be proud of). I sometimes tell people that the mob tried to kill me but failed. (*LOL*)
If your provider says you're not a surgery candidate, get another opinion. They're probably getting a kick back from big pharma to keep you on PPIs. Big pharma makes money on treating the problem with meds, not curing the problem. If you get the surgery and it's successful which it is most of the time, big pharma will lose you as a profit center. A hiatal hernia is a structural defect in the development of your GI tract that's easily surgically corrected. It's a routine surgery. If you can burp, eat and pass gas and poop then it's a successful surgery. However you may lose the ability to vomit for awhile which will make gastro bugs that cause vomiting very painful. The Nissen will loosen up with time where you can vomit. Mine has.

You listed the cause of GERD, which are LES weakness and delayed food digestion. From experience, I dealt with the first one by using Apple Cider Vinegar before meal and the second one by taking Bile pill to help in digesting fat. Most of food that you suggested to avoid are essential

I am curious of something in your common. I wonder if my fat with Bile is what caused, Gall Bladder , and thick Fat that goes into the Bile , is the root cause of Gall Bladder and Stones ? And then Gastritis, Erosion of Esophagus were next when I found out , I had this .
My story back in 2020 , Woke up 4 am , and my stomach was burning , on the right side of my lower abdomen. I had Ct Scan with contrast and found I have Gall Bladder, Gall Stones, Gastritis, and Erosion Esophagus. 3 months later, I had the Gall Bladder and Gall stones taken out ( had to wait because of COVID ) the hospital wasn't doing any Out Patient Surgeries. Then in September 2020, I had "EGD "test done and that's when I found out about Gastritis and Esophagus. I just had another EGD done in November 2022 and I have the Report , I just don't know what it all means. I like to know how to heal up Gastritis, GERD and Esophagus with Supplements.
GI doctors in this region , never sit down and explain anything to the patients, which is sad.

@@Niklas6577 Gerd isn't just caused by LES weakness. It can also be caused by not enough stomach acid. Stomach acid is what triggers the sphincter to close, if there isn't enough acid then it won't close properly leading to reflux of whatever acid is there. This is why apple cider vinegar helps, because it increases the acidity of the stomach. I've had bad Gerd in the past, and ACV is what cured it. Just started getting it again 12 years later, and am now taking ACV every few days, plus hydrochloric acid capsules before each meal. So far so good. I don't understand why this cause isn't mentioned in this video.

Your stomach is not producing enough stomach acid and the LES doesn't close properly when we don't have enough stomach acid.
Buy betaine hydrochloride with pepsin and take 3/4 pills or that before protein or fatty fried food and you will see that you don't get heartburn.
Also you can have less pills and drink apple cider vinegar mixed with water with your meals , this will increase your stomach acid content.
Good luck and let me know if it worked for you 😊

You must go carnivore. No fruits, veggies, grains, coffee, tea, soda, alcohol. High fat dairy and meat only. We are not designed for plants which have built in poisons that are causing inflammation and chronic illnesses. It works. 80% of people in the western world have a chronic disease. @Kindiz I will be honest. The over consumption of coffee is what really screwed me up. I believe big corp is putting things in coffee or the sweeteners that make you crave it even more. Before you know it... your drinking more coffee and or energy drinks than you are water. I did not realize it, but for a long time I was so addicted to coffee and rockstar/monster, that I reached for it every morning. I should have been reaching for water first. What's worst... Once I drank that stuff, I would not feel the need to drink water. So I could go through my entire day with only coffee, energy drinks, and water. Plus I was eating everything he listed in this video. Fried chicken, hamburgers.... but I think it was the coffee for water that really did me in. Eventually my body started to break down. I ended up getting Rheumatoid Arthritis. Which is basically caused by a toxins from food getting through the lining in your stomach. I remember waking up one morning and being in extreme pain when I tried to move my arm. The morning after that, it was both my hands. The next morning it was my right leg. Im like what the hell is this. went to the doctor and got diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritest. Stopped drinking star bucks and Donken donuts, and I have not had an attack sense. One day I went to Dunken and got my usual french vinella swirl with one cream and 2 sugars. I noticed that they pourd some clear liquid into my drink. I said, whats that? He's like that sugar. You said you wanted two sugars right? Im like buddy, that is not sugar. As long as I have been living I have never seen sugar come in a clear liquid. You see when you go to dunken and starbucks and get these fancy drinks, the one thing you dont realize is that they are not using natural flavors. They are using lots of chemicals. So when you drink a pumkin spice. your probably not drinking pumkins. your drinking a chemical that the gives you a taste of a pumpkin. This is whats making us sick. This is whats causing gerd. Another example is things like Coffee Mate Creamer. You think because it had the word cream in it that you are actually getting cream? youd be wrong. Its simply oil and chemicals mixed together to give you the taste of hazel nut or vinella. Ok. I wrote a story, but you get the picture. Big corp is the reason we have gerd.

If the stomach contains enough stomach acid the valve will close and no heartburn.I was able to quit the tums and have not taken any for last 10 months. I do agree with some of the avoidance listed foods, as they are a major culprits. Healthy lifestyle management is another key factor that helps. Poor beverages consumption and alcohol is problematic for those unable to control its consumption. Variations and individual condition is a factor, since some gets mild while others suffer from severe symptoms.

You all also have to understand that no two people are the same. I can't eat apples at all because my body doesn't like pectin. I also used to be able to eat peanut butter all my life up until a few years ago, and now it triggers some of the worst GERD I've ever had. I can't eat grapes or raisins anymore.
Basically I have learned over the years what triggers it and what doesn't. If I eat something and I wind up having an issue, I try eating that same thing one more time to see if it was just normal stomach issues, or if it was the food that triggered it. If I get the same reaction, I don't eat that food anymore.
Chicken, turkey, and white fish seem to do well for me. Salmon in small doses.
Mildly spicy food every once in a while is ok.
Acidic foods are definitely not good.
I drink decaffeinated coffee quite often with no issues.
Rice does well for me, as well as other carbs like potatoes.

here's a few ideas for natural cures for heartburn
      Ensure you consume enough water.
cut down on tomato rich dishes eg pizza and pasta
cut down on French fries and mashed potatoes
Avoid smoking, drinking alchol or caffeinated drinks
(I discovered these and why they work on Alinn heartburn relief site )

You don’t need it if you eat right. You’ll gain muscle either way. Protein powders are taxing on the kidneys and can cause damage so I would stay away.

      Do you still have cough?

  • @alabamajenny8751
    @alabamajenny8751 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’ve had this since I was a kid. As an adult, the gap of fast food is narrowing quickly.
I ate Taco Bell today around 130. By 4-5 I fell asleep in recliner, woke up with a choking cough, the typical splash up, up-chuck in my throat. Good Lord. Wrecked my evening. It is now almost 8 PM and I am still nauseous.
I took Nexium for better part of ten years. Now I take Prevacid daily. Sometimes 15 Mg- 30 Mg daily with few problems.
But like today, when I was un a hurry. I grabbed a chalupa and a pack of cinnamon twists.
Well it’s no wonder my stomach was upset when I got home.
No more Yaco Bell for me.
Can you touch on study where people taking PPIs possibly causing dementia in 30% of the study. I will take my chances. Quality of life is everything.
We are left with cereal, PBJs and rabbit food minus onion. No salt and water but not too much bc it sloshes back up, too.
