My boyfriend is trans, and sex with him is better than it was with any man before him. He's also a better man than most men that I know. And we were best friends growing up until high school and then after college he moved to baltimore but we always kind of kept up with each other (very generically) on social media, and then in March he came out as trans and started T and I was very vocal and supportive and somehow by September he had moved home to Ohio to be with me and I have loved him MADLY ever since.

As an older trans guy (age 57), I feel like it's almost impossible to find someone to be with. Lesbians that would date me before, won't. Cis men all want younger Trans guys. So I'm dealing with ageism as well as my Trans label. Discouraged, but not giving up. Good thing I'm Bi, so many more possibilities.

I worry I'll be forever alone because I'm trans, asexual, and only interested in masculine people. So I feel like I've painted myself into a corner or something. That said, I usually find trans men or non-binary trans people who present more masculine more attractive than cis guys. I dunno if it's because I feel like they're more accepting or open to who I am or if I just feel safer with them.

I haven't been in a long term relationship for many years now. When I do date, I try to find pansexual people because they seem more accepting and that makes me feel comfortable. I tried dating straight women but it was difficult due to my dysphoria. The reason I've been single so long is because I find it so difficult and emotionally draining.

I definitely feel this. Both of my parents told me no one would want to be with me if I transitioned, and I feel like cis people aren't attracted to me because I'm not "male" enough. Though I do have to say, I think sometimes the trans community rules out dating other trans people.
@A M. I wonder if some trans people just view dating a cis person and trophee or something. Like a conquest in the dating world. I'm not saying that's the majority of cases at all. Just food for thought. People want what they want even when they are a part of a discriminated category. And honestly it's not an issue because people are supposed to feel attracted to who they are dating. It becomes sad when you won't that someone because of what your peers will thinks. That's a whole different situation.

me being a cis gay guy, where I live you can find some trans men on dating apps; I´ve never dated one, but I see it as a possibility. I guess visibility is key, the more trans guys appear, the more likely it is for these experiences to become normal for cis people. Most people who say they only want to date people with penises have never really thought about their own sexuality...

I feel you. I'm still pre-T and a year ago I thought nobody would want to get to know me because I pass for both genders even though I identify as male. My cis friend would try to cheer me up regarding dating because I was feeling lonely as well. In my Spring semester though I locked mg keys in my car, so while I waited for my mom for bring me my spare key an acquaintance from high school walked over to me and we started talking. two weeks later he toured me around a different campus and he asked me out that day after I'd told him I am Transgender. we have been going strong ever since.
My point of this is that it feels like we'll be alone for a long time, but we really won't. There is someone out there, and they'll knock you off your feet when you meet them. Sorry didn't mean to make this so long.
I think that as time went by with t my self esteem increased and maybe that's what people picked up on??? Becuse I attract way more people than I used to pre t.
If you don't want to date, that's cool. But when you're ready, your gender expression won't be the thing to prevent that from happening. All sorts of people are attracted to all sorts of qualities.

Going through similar feelings having only dated one girl and (socially) transitioning while dating her and now being single for the first time since. And then hearing a trans woman say her gay friends think trans men are disappointing and her lesbian friends still view trans guys as women :^)

Just want to say that when I came out my mum told me no one would love me because I'm disgusting now and I think about it all the time and it really bothers me but then I remember I'm engaged to an amazing guy and even though it isn't perfect I'm still so happy in knowing that someone loves me enough to stay with me through coming out and through my transition. He is beyond amazing and although I wish he would be better when I'm having a bad disphoria day or don't feel masculine enough I'm still as happy as ever. So basically even though I do often feel the same way I still know that at least in this moment I am loved. Also I'm not meaning to sound at all ungrateful for my partner I'm simply saying that I do understand to an extent and yes he isn't perfect but neither am I and that's completely fine. I love him and as for Chase and Ty please keep up the good work and thank you for making this and discussing this topic.

I've never really had a problem with dating people in the area of my gender but most of them don't work out literally just because they're shitty people or I was the shitty person and left so the other person can find someone better. For now, I'm kinda in the time of my life where I don't really want to date or strive for it, I just sleep with whoever I want and if something happens, it happens. A relationship doesn't have to define you and you don't need to be in one but hey, if it happens, it happens.
