My take on the Chase Ross / Ty Turner drama - the real issue in the Trans Community

  • I react to the drama surrounding "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters" and the drama it created around Chase Ross and Ty Turner.
I'm Luca, and I make videos about being trans, having tourettes, and living with ADHD.
I might have been rambling too much, but I wanted to stay as authentic as I could. I'm not here to pick a side any other than the one of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I hope you are all OK. Let's be kind to one another and to ourselves. I love you all.

I'm a bit older and, hopefully, wiser than a majority of TH-cam's transgender audiences and I'm pretty well convinced that Mr. Ross would do anything for more drama and viewers because he's addicted to getting attention - be it good or bad attention. I suspect that's what he craves and that's what he's all about. A look back across his online history of relationships with other transmen and his supporters bears this theory out. The bottom line - A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that doesn't make them biscuits. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for you comment! I understand your point of view. I don't know the guy personally, so i don't want to make any statements regarding that. Personally, i think that the issue of the movement that this book is a part of is way more of an issue. I think that this pseudo science aimed to take away our rights is far more important than whether or not a TH-camr is a good person.
That of course doesn't take away the validity of your frustration with this person, it's just that I'd rather focus on the other issue, because i personally think it's a more fruitful discussion to have.

No drama, they talked it out.. chase posted his apology, Abigale is getting what she wants if we get divided .. she did a terrible terrible thing ... all eyes need to be on her, her concerns are valid, but she is SO misinformed and spreading terribly toxic information that is only going to make it worse ., don’t fight hate with hate like she is trying to do, we need to stand together trans community .. so yes, you’re right .. the point is exactly what you said ... the problem is transphobia 💔

Abigail did a terrible thing? Right. I guess most people who are objective, like writers, scientists finding cures really do terrible things. What is she misinformed about? What is Dr. Littman misinformed about, after years of research? No. The problems is deviants. Deviant people who care more about their personal power over vulnerable people. Deviant people who don't care about the consequences. Social deviants, but still deviants.

@@larryinews1Abigail is not a scientist. She’s a Facebook mom who is angry about trans people existing. As was mentioned, it isn’t that none of her concerns are valid, but rather that she makes up things and draws sharp conclusions based on no research at all and out of context statistics. Comparing her to a scientist is insulting to scientists.
Additionally, you completely misunderstand what a deviant is. Deviance is a reaction to societal norms and issues. There are many different reactions to society which I won’t get into here, but the deviant is a person that rejects societal norms at their premise and lives a lifestyle generally in opposition to those norms. For example if it is a societal norm to be vegan, a deviant could be someone who eats chicken. If it is a societal norm to marry your cousin, a deviant is a person that marries a non-relative. If it is a societal norm to own dogs but not cats, a deviant would own a cat. That’s all the word means. You treat it like it’s a value judgement for whatever reason:

As a complete outsider to this but having seen both Ty and chase's videos I feel that Chase's reasoning wasn't bad. This type of book usually lives off outrage marketing and any platforming will make it more likely to take off. For each book that does take off at least 10 don't. So I don't think that not actively speaking out against a book is enough to say that he endorses it. In Chase's video he says he agrees with Ty's video and he does seem genuine about acknowledging his part in everything and wanting to do better, I don't think he could've done anything else. All that being said, some of the context seems to indicate a history of problems surrounding Chase that I don't know off, so maybe I'm missing something.
Good to see you making stuff and speaking out about things that matter to you!

After commenting I realized I might not have used the right pronouns, so I looked up Chase's twitter and assumed he/him was right because he has 'boy' in his bio, but if I'm wrong please let me know so I can edit my comment.

The author is not attacking the trans community, if you read the book you'd know that instead of sounding like an ignorant, sobbing fool. (At the beginning of the book she makes this very clear.) QShe's calling out the inhumane way little girls are being told they should be boys. (I'm in the middle of the book and it's fascinating.)
How is it that transgender girls go from being 47% of the reassignment surgeries in 2016 to 70% a year later? If kids are reading this book, thank our God. They need to know what's being done to them. And their parents.
YOU need to inform yourself and read this book. Facts are stubborn things.
It's actually quite sad. These young girls are being convinced their anxiety and social problems are because they want to be boys.
At very young ages, they're having double mastectomies and having hysterectomies because of the unstudied hormone treatments. It's eugenics. It's inhumane. Many of these girls wake up years later and realize they are not boys. They, indeed, are a woman. (A young woman with no boobs and no uterus.) The body parts that make her a woman cannot be replaced. Now she's sterile. That ok with you? Suicides through the roof! You gonna sob over that? It's disgusting.
This book is fantastic "Irreversible Damage." It reveals the absolute inhumane, bullying treatment of young girls by psychologist, the medical field, social media and the social warrior activitis who are trans. These young girls are not even lesbian, they're troubled. I thought you people cared about that kind of compassion? It makes no sense. I suggest you check yourself. This is upright bullying. You people are mean and hateful.
Take a deep breath. This author has done several interviews where she was consistent she didn't want to take this subject on (even with Joe Rogan, I suggest you check that out as well) but finally felt compelled because it's so egregious. And, it is.

Are you failing to realise the damage it could do to kids who are questioning their gender? I certainly was when I hated the fact that I started my period and my breasts were growing. It’s only when I discovered the label transgender that I was like, “oh crap that is me”. Starting my transition has helped my mental health more than what therapy could have done.
Like always though, people would rather transitioning wasn’t a thing and we can just be “fixed” with tons of therapy and told to live a lie. Is there any surprise that most trans people have tried to kill themselves or at least self harmed?
So yes books like this does cause more damage to those questioning their gender. As someone who grew up Catholic I thought something was really wrong with me, after all the church doesn’t support trans people. Books like this puts vulnerable children including teenagers to hate themselves even more thinking they are freaks.
So I suggest actually doing research into kids and teenagers who are trans and not just following one book that just wants to cause further damage to vulnerable people.

sam_sips_t yep agree with you right there. I’m saying from my own story and when I started questioning. If you want a whole list of what I have issues with within myself I can provide it.
At the end of the day I know T and surgery will make my physical appearance change to what I see myself as and not what the mirror currently shows.

Well if u can put into an experiment and see the kids feed back who r unaware of the subject of wt gender identity and gender expression is and see the influence it does on them and then care to wonder if u have the capacity to do it on a million kid then educate these kids what gender identity and gender expression is and then u will see the actual truma it did
I don't mean to troll u neither prove a point but the amount of awareness that was disregarded by the author is definitely lacking her vast audience which is getting smaller thankfully and sadly.....
We just have to realize that the upcoming generation doesnt dead with the same insecurities, shame and guilt that we faced hopefully less and if they get to have there own new shit to deal with I mean our role there is to guide them and they decide cause also soon they will be in our shoe step
