I think what pisses me off the most is Yandere Dev had so much help given to him and had such a clear and easy goal (a simplified Hitman game loop with different rivals) but actively decided to play the long con and milk all his supporters and antagonize everyone else. Like dude, you had it easy. All that hate is deserved. lol
Meanwhile; the actual 'Hitman' series went through an entire trilogy ('HITMAN - World of Assassination') from 2016 to 2021. As of 2023, YandereDev has yet to implement 2 of the 10 Rivals in the base game.
The clip of YanDev sipping milk have been meme to death over the years as him "consuming the Cum Chalice."
And seriously, check out the guy recent drama about grooming as it is some seriously wacko shit. The mental gymnastics he made about age of consent is something you must witness to believe.

Even though im no programmers and know nothing of code the amounts of ELSE-IF on that thing was insane even to me, it looks to me as like a new student trying to code and the game worked so his sorcery was effective but good lord even to untrained eyes it was painful

Yandev is such a strange creature. I remember seeing a lot of promise..... like 6-7 years ago? And then a single update in a 4 year space feeling/playing exactly the same.
I would love a game like this and I think a lot of people liked the concept and that's why they gave him so much leeway. It's just ultra-violent anime Hitman, but he's so incompetent and unable to even take positive, constructive criticism.
Edit: If he spent nearly as much time editing for his youtube channel's obscenely long rants as he does programming the game would be done.
The game never gonna be finished (unless they rebuild/refactor his code/rescale his scope).
The first thing when I learned as a solo dev to dev a game is compile time.
So it's essential to actually make a way to actually compile the game extremely fast and re-test it.
That 3gb mess of a code will destroy your compile load time and your sanity on the long run.
I mean like you got 5 minutes of compile time, each time you hit run, you only has 12 tries per hours to code something.
1 code implementation usually needs around 1 to 60 try. Good luck with that stuff.
@@aj991 the worst part is this is like a 101 common sense thing you should pick up even if you have no formal education in development cos you'll notice it the very first time you compile. Beyond that, he would or should know this if he listened to anyone but himself and what remains of his echo chamber. He just refuses and instead goes to his little debunk site to make noise. I've seen incredible games made by solo or small team devs come out AND HAVE SEQUELS in the space he's had to build this silly anime murder game. It's baffling.
the saddest thing about yanderedev, is that i truly believe he had talent, considering he was doing everything by himself, but his ego, the drama, and his ignorance on development never let him finish, if he only would shut up and stop engaging in drama, he could had done something with the game.

But nothing is a Demo for that long. And no, updating a demo with new features does not make it less of a demo.
Not with the programming Bloat, I've heard the script bloat isn't as bad as it could be. Just too many calls to scripts running simultaniously that could probably be sequenced better.
But I believe he was blinded by the hate, and blinded by the money. Spending too much time not actually working, and feeling threatened when other people actually do the work he was supposed to, in the case of Tinybuild... Or for "Fan" projects.

I' love to see an actual Yandere game. But it seems like people who make yandere games, they end up being creeps
Honestly the two fan-games were pretty much on par with Yan-sim on a much smaller scheduele... Sure they didn't have all the fairy, and the dark magic "extra" but as for the premise they were on par.
But remember, Yan-dev despite having detractors, also has a legion of fans. And once he put them on the case they did much the same to them, as most did to him.
And the second fan-game was being made by like a 15 year old kid, who suddenly had death threats and all that BS.
He decided to just stop developement and duck the drama as best he could, which I understand.
So early it didn't even show up on profile lol.
Edit: He has always looked like what you'd get if you tried drawing an emoji as a real person. Even as he aged. YanDev was unlucky out the box, and somehow his looks match his behavior.

9 out of 10 times it turns out that he was, in fact, not a nice guy. Then there is the 1 guy exception which is actually a nice guy, and he simply expresses himself poorly.
I actually looked into Love Sick when it started up.
I still have a few of their emojis of their OC fem yandere (they were gonna have a male ver yandere too) from their (now gone) Discord server. (they gave them away after announcing the stop of the game due to the drama)

I'd recommend Kappa Kaiju's review of the demo. Where he approached it very objectively and without bias.
2nd this. Kappa's the Goat, and honestly covers a lot of bases.
One that might be a bit more Bias is FPS Diesal's review on it, he gets into more Nitty gritty and has a bit more experience with the game genre that yan-sim is trying to be.

One thing he got wrong was when he said yandev told 4chan to fuck off. It was actually 8chan, he migrated there during Gamergate and because they were giving him useful criticism and advising him (in the usual imageboard way), he threw a shitfit and fled to reddit.

The Yandere Dev definitely has serious mental issues. It's sad how he had so many people trying to help him with his game, only to watch him not only reject the help, but attack his own fans. As someone who's been learning game development recently with Godot, I've had just just a small amount of first hand experience of the amount of hard work and trouble shooting that goes into making a game. I've barely managed to make something that could remotely be considered a functioning game, even with help from tutorials. There's nothing wrong with taking other peoples help and advice.
On an unrelated note, I like your sense of humor and your VTuber model!

I still feel like he could have taken the half year of no game updates had he stayed with TinyBuild. He could have kept releasing update videos talking about the progress made, and maybe even show off some of the improvements that have been made, such as better graphics and framerate, to keep people in the loop. But thats also ignoring the fact that he likely just didn't want to lose complete ownership of the game/brand more than anything.

"Yandere" in general scare the shit out of me, especially "extreme yandere". I know people think its a joke, but holy shit there are people who call themselves yandere....the things they happily talk about doing to be people. Good god. Its not right, its just not.

I feel sorry for this guy. Not only he ended up in a bad path in life, but he also became one of the internets punching bag and a meme.
I don't. Maybe some of it is circumstances, but he did a lot of it to himself too. He was recently outed as a groomer, or at the very least he's been accused of it, said some very questionable things about age of consent in the past, and has had some really suspicious interactions with at least a few underage girls. He's been dragging his feet for years on Yandere Simulator, just adding more and more features instead of finishing his game despite still collecting money to fund it. One of the people who was waiting for the game to come out decided he was gonna make his own version, made some really promising progress, and thenthis guy says he would self delete in response and sent his fans to harass the guy. Again, he did a lot of this to himself with poor decisions and selfish actions. At this point, I honestly don't think he has any intention of finishing his game since he clearly doesn't have to in order to keep making money off of it, and it's practically devolved into a scam. Unless of course so many people get tired of waiting and the money from sites like Patreon dries up, at which I wouldn't be surprised if he "suddenly" finishes the game and it pops on on Steam or some adult game sites. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying people should go harass him or anything like that. I'm just saying that at least most of the crap that's hit the fan in his life is a result of his own actions, so I don't feel bad for him.

Not that its an excuse but if youre in a really bad mental shape you dont think about consequences rather living in the present and surviving to the next day, and this guy is coping big time. Im pretty sure most groomers arent proud of themselves, ofc some enjoy this and like causing harm in general, but some are just sad little men.
And clearly this guy was living in the fantasy inside his head not really putting much care to the outside world from what i saw on the clip from his stream. seriously the game is a great idea and an unique game with a lot of funny creepy details like the pantie box opening. Gameplay and story wise and all the diff characters, multiple endings and all is really good. but the problem really is just the dev himself and the way he goes with it. game could be done is less than an year and he could act more mature but ig it's from these ppl that we get those ideas of games with their problems.

Really if it only takes 6 to 8 months to refactor the code into a more optimal way of coding then there really isn't much there to begin with. Most projects take a year if not more if you have to transcode to another programming language then refactor the code to run better.
The developer from Tinydev wanted to use C# not javascript due to the scale of the game being hard to fit into the restrictions of a 32-bit address space. For most games with more than just 1 developer it will take 1 to 3 years to just rewrite the code so Yan-dev really didn't do much or the estimate of how much time is needed is way to short.

Well prime example like Rainbow 6 Siege shutdown any chinese competitors and now killing their own genre along with them. Same as Yandere simulator. If there's no competitions, they wont become better like microsoft with apple and Xbox and PS. If they have no competitions, they will becoming stale and eventually people moved on. Thats how you kill innovations, trends, arts, genres, business and etc.
