he truly is an Australian shitposter
Never thought i'd see Alana watching friendlyjordies but i welcome it
In my experience in IT/customer service, a LOT of customer issues stem from them being too lazy to try and work out the problem themselves. So many people these days treat computer technology like it's some kind of mystical device that can somehow read its owner's/user's mind and perform the tasks you want it to. Very few people will take the time to figure out or learn even the most BASIC aspects of it... like what kind of charging cable your phone or tablet uses or just googling: How do I make my computer do this. This really extends beyond electronics usage but I'd say it started with computers.
Apple put so many different types of training bumpers on all their products for stupid people, users now expect all technology to be like that. It's the same reason Zoomers don't know what folders are.
If you haven’t seen the British IT crowd it is a gem.
Feels like IT guys are kinda like Doctors and Nurses, no matter what you show them they probably just go "YEP, seen that hundres of times already"
Basically , there is a reason why the sentence "have you tried turning it off and on again" is so prevalent . it's not just a joke it actually works .
24:26 That sounds like a very dangerous situation to get yourself in, you should try to find a way to not faint in situations like that.
Considering how many peoples passwords are "password" and how many of them click on email scams, none of this is surprising.
I am always shocked by the amount of people who just have sensitive/embarrassing files on their PC. Even not smut related stuff like birth certificates, bank account details, and highly valuable data. People don't seem to realise just because you have a password on your windows account doesn't mean someone cannot just take that hard drive out of the PC and see everything that's on it, especially laptops which are more likely to be stolen.
Encrypt your files, you don't need to be a giga genius IT hacker to do it.
Once I was just at a library minding my own business when a man in his 60's asked me for help with one of the computers (you can use your card to be in the library even after the staff has left for the day so I was the only one there). The mouse seemed to have stopped working completely and we tried different things for about ten minutes until I figured out what had happened. The guy had unplugged the mouse in order to put in his USB drive (probably with the documents he was printing) and forgotten all about it instantly. We both had a laugh at that.
So, when I worked at best buy in the mobile phone department, a customer came by with his laptop. I knew enough to help him. I opened it up and his porn resumed playing. Fullscreen and sound. It was a busy day with a line of customers and all hands on deck for the department. Everyone heard it. I was in shock and the guy was probably in shock. He then said, "can you fix it?" (I forget what the problem was. That kinda went out the window.) That was my hardest laugh to keep in. After I closed the porn and he left the store, I had a much needed laugh out loud. Many jokes were said. It was a glorious day.
I've worked in IT for 15 years, this stuff was tame.
I've run my own IT helpdesk/general support company in every town I've lived in, I guess it's been about 18 years now. Computer literacy has declined since then, regardless of age. If anything, I think the times I have legitimately said to myself "how can you not know this?" the most recently have been people in their 20s.
VtuberXFriendlyJordies? That's a new one. But I'm here for it. Nice to meet you.
18:28 did a version of that myself, super annoying lady who wasn't even listening to my advice ... told her to hold the Fn key and then press F11 ... on the HP laptops we had, Fn+F11 is airplane mode 💀💀
Management did talk to me about it but I said I just messed up and meant to say F12 😂
do more jordies, class stuff lol
Fun story: My sister, pick up her husbands phone checks it, and shout "WHY YOU HAVE DI*K PICS ON YOUR PHONE?" He gets confused. Apparently, every pic people send on their Companies WatsApp group are automatically saved on your phone (or cloud which is visible on your phone)
He is IT guy, but that's irrelevant. Can happen for everyone
For anyone wondering, he's 35, so probably just beyond the age of using computers in school.
And yes, he knows he looks like a child, not 35.
Poor divorced guy... He was probably just a Jojo fan...
I haven't deleted my internet history sense i made my accounts
Today I learnt about porn genres from Alana. Thanks Smuggler.
14:13, has Alana watched the Deuce Bigalow movie series? There's something TECHNICALLY like that in the movie, granted it had more humor to it.
EDIT: I think it was the European sequel..?
