    I've heard that some old folks legitimately consider cruises to be a cheaper alternative to owning a home on land. Which probably makes sense if you consider that the cruise ship has "assisted living" costs already included in the form of the crew. You don't have to worry about cooking your own meals, cleaning your own bathroom, doing laundry, etc.

      @@ashenbloodI've seen that and it confuses me. I don't know if things work differently in the US, but I work at a retirement home, and if you're well of enough to be able to be on a cruise you don't belong in a retirement home to begin with.

      One comment explained that there's also shipboard nurses who can do all the basic "test blood pressure" etc. procedures. Anecdotally, they also treat you as a customer and not as burden, which allegedly is the standard at "regular" care homes.

    Only cruise I’d consider going on are the Viking river cruises in Europe. Most of those are like 7-12 days & it isn’t a floating city.
    Also the bad weather and storms is not a surprise to me at all. The capes of both South America and Africa are notorious for bad weather showing up out of no where. There is a very narrow window where you could get clear weather for sailing. Many ships were lost during the golden era of sailing in those two areas.

    Ive been on several Cruises with Royal Caribbean. They do not have only access pools or buffets. Their ships dont have enough room for whole extra pools and cafeteria areas that only a select few can use.
    What shes probably talking about is getting access from A side or B side. Which is Bow or Aft seating and dinning. Which is to help break up congestion during meal times. Both dinning rooms are equally nice, if not themed differently. 1 is at the front of the boat while the other is at the back. Back usually has better views

      @sward0483 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @OmniscientWarrior they can't base it on a per room basis. Yes bigger rooms and rooms with better views etc cost more.... but when it comes to tickets it has to be based on a head count. Otherwise you have no way to determine how much food you need, how heavy the ship is to determine both fuel efficiency and how low it will sit in the water (effects what ports it can moor in) it also effects ballast of the ship. They need head counts to plan ahead for trips to land etc. There are a bunch of reasons why it won't work on a by room basis

    So, three things
    First, why do they keep calling this a "tiktok" cruise? Did they advertise to streamers or invite "influencers" or something? Or is it just a regular cruise and ppl are making tiktoks?
    Second, yes you can take a cruise to Antarctica. It's expensive, and you need a special visa for Antarctica in addition to the country of departure, but it is a thing. From the girl's description it sounds like they weren't stopping there on this ship but yes cruises can go there.
    Third, "tendering" is when you are at a port that is too small for a cruise ship -- the ship anchors nearby and the passengers take small ferries to the port and back. The small boats are called "tenders".

    In all fairness, 64k sounds like a lot.
    But once you start to discount the price of the rent that you do not need to pay for a year, the utilities, the internet, the food (in many cruises, food is included), etc.
    Suddenly it is a very reasonable price.
    It is basically a downpayment for a large chunk of your whole year's expenses.
    It might still be on the expensive side, depending on how much is included, but it is not crazy expensive.

    Loved the video @SmugAlana! Can't wait for the next video Girl! To answer your question about what Tendering is. Basically, the Cruise Ship (or any Ship in the Civilian Service) goes into Port to Top off their Fuel Tanks, Restock their Food and Drink Supplies and things like that. In this case, it would also mean that they'd be able to pump the water Out of the Ship when it got flooded.
    To make things a bit more simple, try thinking about the Aftermath of a Naval Battle in the Second World War. You've got Damaged Ships that need to be Repaired and in the Case of the Pacific, Most notably during the Guadalcanal Campaign within the Overall Solomon Islands Campaign, That usually meant stopping off at Tulagi in the Florida Islands opposite to Guadalcanal across the New Georgia Sound (Aka "Iron Bottom Sound" for how many Ships and Patrol Craft would be sunk during the Campaign) before heading over the Australia to put in to the Cockatoo Island Dockyard or to Espiritu Santos in the New Hebrides and then head back towards the United States via Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i.
    As for the Swingers, no one knows why they exist even still after the time of the Infamous "Mile High" Club in the Aviation Industry, they just still do when they probably shouldn't. In case you're wondering, The Mile High Club is people actually Screwing their brains out on an Airplane that's in the Air. Either way, sounds like something you'd expect the P0rn Industry to take advantage of LMAO!
    Now the VTuber on a Cruise idea Though...... Oh Ho Boy! To be honest though, I'd rather have a Trail run with like a 9 Hour Cruise on a Liberty Ship like the John W. Brown or the Jeremiah O'Brien or a Victory Ship like the American Victory, the Lane Victory or the Red Oak Victory and see how things go from there!
    Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video Girl! This just got another subscription from me.

    There’s no way I’d take a 9 month cruise with a sugar baby. I wouldn’t have one to begin with (1. not enough sugar 2. I prefer the company of people who act like me) but if I wanted to take one on vacation I wouldn’t do a cruise and if I wanted to live with one for an extended period, it DEFINITELY wouldn’t be in a cruise ship cabin.

    $70k for 9 months works out to around $259.26 per day which isn't all that bad considering that it's all inclusive. That is about what you'd spend at a mid-range all inclusive resort in Jamaica in July.

    • @OmniscientWarrior
      @OmniscientWarrior 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But at Jamaica, you actually get to do stuff, get better food, and low risk of being stuck there.

      @@OmniscientWarrior I don't disagree with that assessment. I was just pointing out that the cost was fairly in line with other all inclusive experiences.

    These ships weren't even designed to cross open ocean waters-they're meant to hug the coasts and spend as much time in port as possible, all with as little victualing as they can get away with. They aren't even built to sit upright in a moderate swell-they're so narrow and top-heavy they roll like a kayak from a summer breeze and they don't have the righting moment to pull themselves back up.
    It's impressive that nobody's died so far, but I have to imagine there are gonna be some major lawsuits agaunst Carnival International when this is over-and unlike ten years ago, where most of the victims were middle class tourists or working class Italian crew members, this time it's a bunch of rich Americans and western European aristocrats that are getting annoyed, so some of the claims might actually stick in court.

    I was on a cruise in November for at least 6 days counting the day we boarded & not the day we got off(we woke up, took our shit, went to muster or whatever stations then got off so not exactly a full day just like 3 or or so hours) & my dad was shocked that my stepmom found out people on another cruise were going to be on there for I think two weeks or a month(forgot which). It was nice but I was glad to get off so the idea of being on one for 9 months jfc.
    We didn’t even go on the excursions due to my stepmom’s failing health & worry of being separated(she was worried about me being left by myself on one) just wandered around the area when the ship parked & went back on so this would be insane. Not to mention everyone hated the beds even the workers, I didn’t even have a bed cause the ship fucked up despite requesting the room have two beds.(My brother & I were in a room together I chose the couch cause we weren’t sleeping on it together)
    I know I’m just rambling but I’m just doing my best to say we had enough of the vacation by the time it was time to go home so think about how much we’d be ready to leave if some how suck on this one.

      Most rich things aren't actually worth what they cost, many of things are actually cheap. I remember a background wall paper for phones being sold for 900 bucks. People bought it as a status thing. It didn't do anything. Meanwhile, interactive wallpapers don't cost near half that.
