The technical approach to analyzing these hooks was really interesting!! I asked for the same thing the first time Elise's husband came on the channel and took out the profilometer :) However, I think that with the variety of hooks that exist on the market it may end up taking quite a while to do, so it may be smarter to do smaller videos like this one that can be released bit by bit more often and put into a playlist, before compiling them into one big video with chapters per hook type and brand (be it just because at the moment super long video compilations from creators seem to have a good reach)

My husband just gifted one of the new aluminum hooks for my birthday! And my zodiac resin hook too. He works with metal on a daily basis and is impressed how smooth, well balanced and overall nice the hook is. It is heavier than i am used, never had a Odyssey so the weight difference between my furls resin and wood hooks to the aluminum is quite big, but it fits so well into the hand and i am amazed that my wrist don´t get tired earlier than normal although it weighs more. Just such good craftmanship! I learned with cheap hooks, and when i teach someone how to crochet i always use those cheap hooks from woolworth, they are totally fine. No one needs to spend that much money, but if someone can it is very nice because the overall quality is just so much better.

So happy to see someone review the new Furls. I splurged & got it when they first came out last year. I paid WAY MORE up here in Canada. I feel like a 👸 when I use this hook! I love how it warms up in my hand, and they nailed it with respect to balance & ergonomics. I'm a big fan of Furls now. Worth every penny.
I started with cheaper hooks and they served their purpose as a new crocheter. I was learning and not as invested in the hobby. Over time I bought better hooks. Then I decided to try Furls. Started with resin, then wood, then OMG Odyssey ♥ ♥. When Streamline came out I treated myself to one and they are amazing. I now have a few and am very happy. Next week is my birthday and my daughter ordered the new Streamline Metal Blush. I am excited because I have no idea how many are coming. Wander yarn is sweet! The stitch definition is great! Treat yourself as you grow in the hobby!
Elise, a little suggestion. For me, when I’ve gotten a new metal hook, (and I do have a couple of the dollar tree hooks) when I start to try them out and I feel that they have some “drag” I now keep a fairly rough little old hand towel with my crochet stuff and I rub the hook with the towel and that seems to do the trick. I’m sure there’s many others out there who’ve learned this little trick through trial and error. Lol. Keep up the wonderful work you do.
I have grown to love your videos. You inspired me to pick up my knitting needles again and expand my knitting skills. You make learning about my favorite crafts very digestible and fun.
I haven't done the scientific stuff, but the only drawback of the furls streamline is that it turns my hand grey. But the new Onyx metal streamline doesn't do this, and I love it!!!!
Good Afternoon Elise. I love your TH-cam channel. I learned how to crochet when I was about six or seven. I was taught using a Boyd Crochet Hook. I hadn’t crocheted in many years, but started to crochet again about 15 years ago. I’d heard a lot of talk regarding the Clover Crochet Hooks and purchased a set. I was addicted to Clover Crochet Hooks. I had never heard of the Furls Brand until they were discontinuing the Odyssey Crochet Hooks. I purchased every size that cost me a fortune. When the Furls Silver Streamline Crochet Hooks came out I purchased the entire set & I took a chance. Well IMO! The Furls Siver Streamline Crochet Hooks are by far the Absolute Best Crochet Hooks that I have ever used. When Furls came out with the new black streamline hook I also purchased the entire set. They look very similar to the original silver hooks, but IMO they aren’t even close. Now Furls came out with a bronze color crochet hook. I only purchased one to see if I like them. The Silver Streamline IMO are by far the absolute Best Crochet Hooks that I have ever used. I wrote this in the middle of your video so IDK how the video ends. Have a Great Day
I truly LOVE it when hubby brings out the tools. I'm a science girlie who crafts so this ticks all the boxes for me. 😍 Thank you and your husband for doing these tests and sharing the results. That new Furls hook is almost too pretty to use. 🙂
I use inexpensive rubber-handled hooks, usually, but I splurged on a new Furls metal streamline 4mm (my go-to granny square size) during their big sale a few months ago. I believe my first reaction was, "Darn, I love this stupidly expensive hook. Now what?" It feels great in my hand, and I can use it a long time without pain. I think my tension is better, too. I'm going to save up for more Furls streamline metal hooks in my favorite sizes, but I won't giving up my cheaper ones.
I’m a huge fan of the furls streamline metal hooks. I started with one then ended up buying the entire set. I crocheted for over 50 years with mainly Clover hooks but since I switched to the furls I have no more wrist pain.
I LOVE that hubby came back for another science test! Furls are not in my budget, "naughty hook", but I might have to splurge on just one one day. Great video, Elise!
this comment is quite irrelevant to the video, but i love watching your videos, i find them so calming and i love to just have them on in the background while i crochet! you are quite literally my go-to crochet youtuber! ❤
I love my furls metal. Only have 1 so far…6.5mm. But the larger ones I feel would be excellent for those projects with heavier weight yarn. It is soooo smooth. ❤ no chance of breaking. 😏 But I see the benefit if having other hooks for sure. Especially if just learning it on the go! Interesting video!! 👏👏👏
So far one of my favourite videos ever! This was so entertaining and informative. I may just have to treat myself to a Furls metal one now. Thank you so much. My husband also enjoyed listening in the background as he also has a very technical/scientific mind.
I love the resin streamlines. I wasn’t expecting it to be as smooth as it is, but they glide! And all the colors 😍😍😍 I wish that the metal streamlines were a bit lighter because the Odessa is heavy on my wrist, but I get why it is heavier. I loved seeing your husband get his big brain energy on! 😂
I L.O.V.E. that you did this again with the Furl's Streamline Metal hook. I had 1 hook to go in Silver when they came out with onyx. I was fortunate to get 4 onyx to start when they rolled out rose! 😮🤦🏼♀️ I'm not sure i can even crochet with anything else now! So worth the cost if you're going to commit to this art form.
I just got one of the onyx streamlines. It is beautiful and is super smooth. I’m sold on the metal streamlines. I stopped buying Furls because of breakage. The odyssey’s were my favorites until they started to break and the resin streamlines are pretty but fragile and wood streamlines are pretty too, but too much drag. Metal has always been my favorite hook material.
Elise, I believe the original Streamline Metal hook was released in 2022 before Furls lost their manufacturer of the Odyssey line. I don’t believe they were ever meant to replace the Odysseys. They were simply meant to be a new line of hooks.
In my cup full of favorite crochet hooks, I always grab the Furl's streamline hook absentmindedly over my Clover's. My hand just feels better with it over a long period of time, and I have psoriatic arthritis.
I love your videos about the Dollar Tree products because my very first crochet hook a few years ago was one of these Dollar Tree ones! Such a great way to start on my crochet journey!
Just to throw in another factor... I find that if it's "too smooth" that i lose control of the glide and the stitch quality suffers.... as they say.. different strokes for different folks
I’ve been watching you for a while and you are so inspiring to me. Your channel us such a comfort channel for me and watching y ou just makes me so happy ❤😊
I loved the science in this video! I've never seen anyone measure in micro inches before and definitely didn't know what a profilometer was before. Now to find the previous video...
I have tried several different hooks and always go back to my old fashioned Susan Bates aluminum hooks. I stopped trying to find the center pull a long time ago and got myself a yarn butler, which I absolutely love.
It was great fun watching you both trying out the smoothness of the hooks that I know I will never get in India! But I was amazed at the new Furls' smoothness! Just WOW!😮
I got the black furls streamline hook, and for some reason, it feels smoother to me than the original silver one! You should test it...just saying, lol
I find the science behind my craft fascinating. The two episodes featuring the doohickey machine are amongst my favourites. This is such a unique approach to the craft. Thank you.

Hello lovely Elise and Hubby, great video, really interesting. I have no expensive pretty hooks as yet just cheap ones like the dollar tree ones, some plain metal cheapies and plastic hooks. I re-started crochet a bit over a year ago and thought when I get better at this I'll get better hooks but then just did not bother.😂 I am used to my cheapie hooks, actually I love them. I also only use budget yarn. Or yarn on sale.🤭 I must b easy pleased. Or I just do not know what I am missing out on with good quality hooks and yarn !??🤭 Love and prayers to u both.💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🧶🧶🧶
I recently bought an aluminum Furls to try. When I crochet on the couch, I use a floor Ott light behind me. The glare off of the hook was a bit blinding! So comfortable and easy on my hand, though.
So glad for a video dedicated to your husband measuring the smoothness of hooks! I agree with some other commenters that I’d love to see the comparison of some of the other popular brands. Especially the large Clover plastic hooks. I’d love a large metal hook, but Clover doesn’t make them, and I love my regular Clover hooks, so I use their big plastic ones.
Hi Elise and right now I am working working my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and a baby blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your TH-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects
Thank you so much, Samantha! I'm working on a secret new amigurumi design! I'm in the early stages and it's for Christmas!! 🎄 can't wait to share more! ❤️
These tests are fun. I think the essential issue is the crafter's preference. Weight can be a factor for crafters with muscle issues (arthritis etc.). Hand size is a factor. Ergonomics is the critical issue for some. For me, inline design, weight, and length are vital factors.
I love the little “science experiment” 😁 I’d love to see how the Furls metal hooks compare to Clover hooks. I love how smooth the Clover hooks are, but the skinny and short handles make my hands cramp up.
My Husband would get a hoot out of testing the crochet hooks. He is an Engineer and previously an Engine Reconditioner. He uses his 'tool-cutter grinder' to reshape the worn ends of my knitting needles for me 😊
After watching this, I ordered the Furls Streamline metal hook in size 5mm - I'm excited to receive it. It will be my first Furls hook. I don't know if my Dollar Tree supplies hooks, but I hope to find out soon! Thanks for these videos. I watch them all, first time commenting.
Hello! Funny i been eyeing the furls streamlined hooks but it wasn't pulling me in until they released the blush line! I ordered 1 to test it out. Im really excited to get it! Thanks for the scientific test. Im also eyeing the Ophire bubblegum wood hook. Slowly but surely i will get them. Thank you!
I have to say... part of what I love about wood is that it is warm... as in not cool to the touch. Because I'm a nerd, I would love to test different types (species) of wood to see if there are differences in the "resonances" or patterns of the roughness. My intuitive way of knowing would hazard a guess that some people (especially neurodivergent people) are sensitive to the "pattern" of roughness -- spiky differences vs uniform differences. (I'm sitting in a room with a really loud HVAC blower -- because that's what every doctor wants for their call room -- a 72 dB continuous fan blowing in the place where they're supposed to be able to get a brief amount of sleep while on call for the weekend), so I didn't hear exactly what your husband said, but visually the pattern looked much more regularly undulating on the wood. And... there's my pager!
I expected the wood to be less smooth. Makes sense. That is what I consider when choosing amhook for a certain yarn. What about the shape of the hook? The shape of the top of the head and how it hooks/releases the yarn is what I look at. Not sure if this helps me justify getting Furls, though. That being said, I have an extensive Furls collection now and will keep adding to it. Entertaining video.
Because who doesn’t need a good doohickey?? It’s so fun to watch you with hubby - you make such an adorable couple 😊 I want a Furls so bad, but I wish they would make 2.5 or 2.75, as I do much more Amigurumi than other crochet. Did Furls gift the yarn?
This was rather interesting comparing the furls hooks. It is good to know the difference in smoothness of my different hooks. My latest replacement was a metal streamline. It is good to know that it is as good as my few Odyssey hooks. But for warmth, there is nothing like wood to keep my hands happy. But alas, they will break as I do too many Amigurumi.
Your crochet work is impeccable. Have enjoyed your videos on hacks, amigurumi, support of others makers, etc. Came away from this video feeling like it was more of an endorsement for Furls than anything else. Maybe I would have felt a little differently if you had not brought out their yarn. I am glad the Dollar Store hook was good because that is what some can only afford. I have 3 Furls hooks and very rarely use them. I am subscribed and will continue to watch.
So… I picked up a few of the new Furls streamline metal hooks and I do love them but they are VERY heavy. Not at first but I find I ache much sooner than with other hooks. I have a few of their resin hooks but I REALLY like metal more and have likes of different hooks for different yarns or projects. I see a lot of younger TH-camrs really gushing over the Furls Streamline but I’m 50 and my joints are not what they once were and that small amount of weight really makes a difference in my length of use. I find myself going back to the Tulip and rarely social media liked Susan Bates ergonomic hooks that are inexpensive enough to just buy on sale and leave with various larger or on the go WIPs. I really do love the Furls Streamline hooks other than the weight 🤷♀.. OH and don’t let them roll off onto the tile 😣I’ve already put a dent into one of the tips of my black ones-that hurt lol
Well! I found a deal on the Clover Amour 10 piece set. Yoykies! I thought my $14.99 set with their floral handles and matching tote were good enough. Well, these are amazing! And even as a beginner I can see how they’ll make me better at crochet!
As a newbie knitter smoothness and the “grab” of knitting needles is good information. The girl I watch who teaches beginning knitting recommends wood or bamboo needles so yarn doesn’t slip off as easily. I don’t recall anyone ever mentioning this with crocheting. I’m guessing the opposite is true. I am a somewhat experienced crocheter and I like projects to fly off my hooks as I crochet. I have used Bowes hooks, but at almost 70 I used ergonomic silicone covered hooks to help with an arthritic thumb. I bought two sets of fairly inexpensive hooks from Amazon, then bought much larger hooks with similar soft handles. They were very inexpensive, but like your dollar tree hook, they work fine. Are there any experienced knitters out there that prefer bamboo needles or metal needles? Why do you like one over the other? I’ve noticed it’s much easier to drop stitches in knitting, and much more challenging to fix or pick them up once dropped. Does the smoothness help or cause this issue? Thanks for this geek out video.
Thanks so much for sharing! I have a friend who is a knitter and she likes bamboo. As a knitter I like metal as well. Would love for other knitters to chime in too! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet I also knit as well as crochet and prefer metal needles over everything else due to the drag or sticking, but using the others did teach me to loosen my tension, lol. Seeing this video now justifies me really wanting the newest Furls hooks, just hope I have the money when they go on sale, lol. Being on a limited income, they always seem to go on sale when I am broke, lol.

Dear Elise, Thank you for sharing and I’m glad your husband brought his profilometer to test the new Furls hook - it will definitely be interesting to see if there is a difference between the new silver, onyx and blush Aluminium Furls hook. Is there a huge difference between the odyssey and the new aluminium when crocheting 🧶 I would love to know if you found any difference between them. Love your channel. Take care and stay safe. God’s Blessings to you and your family 🩷🧶🙏🏽😻🐶
As someone who sorely misses the odyssey range (sob!) and was hesitant to buy the metal furls hooks, thank you for the info and reviews! 🤩 Edit: Went and bought a metal streamline and oh my good gravy Marie it is AMAZING. The hook is smaller than the streamline or odyssey but that actually helps with difficult yarns. I’m gonna say it…it’s better than an odyssey. It just edges a clover amour as well. Get them. Worth then $.
For those who like a longer hook, someone suggested to put an Ipad pencil grip on the end of a shorter hook to give it more length. It’s a tip I try to share as often as I can because it helped me so much!
I'm curious how the Furls Streamline wood hook compares to Nelsonwood hooks. Nelsonwood hooks are quite pricey, but you get to customize it and they turn out extremely beautiful.
I love that you do comparison tests of hooks and yarns. It really helps in the decision making process of what is best to buy, and helps save money on making mistakes as well as enjoying the best quality results. I hope to try out the Furls Odyssey hooks some day. I'm wondering, have you or anyone out there ever tried the Pioneer Woman crochet hooks sold at Walmart. @judipierry549 If you like a weighted hook, then don't hesitate. I'm thrilled with mine!👍🧶👍
Amazing! I always enjoy seeing the scientific side of crafting. Thanks so much for doing this experiment it was so fun! Y’all have a lovely weekend☀️
Thank you!!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend too! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you for sharing!! And Happy Birthday!!! 🎈
Thank you for the scientific proof 😊I absolutely love working with my Furls Streamline metal and odyssey hooks❤
They are amazing hooks! 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks so much for the tip! 🧶🧶🧶
I have grown to love your videos. You inspired me to pick up my knitting needles again and expand my knitting skills. You make learning about my favorite crafts very digestible and fun.
Thank you so very much for your kind words! 🧶🧶🧶
I haven't done the scientific stuff, but the only drawback of the furls streamline is that it turns my hand grey. But the new Onyx metal streamline doesn't do this, and I love it!!!!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
Have a Great Day
They are fantastic hooks!!! Thank you for sharing your experience!! 🧶🧶🧶
I truly LOVE it when hubby brings out the tools. I'm a science girlie who crafts so this ticks all the boxes for me. 😍
Thank you and your husband for doing these tests and sharing the results. That new Furls hook is almost too pretty to use. 🙂
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! I enjoy the science behind it too! 🧶🧶🧶
I purchased a streamline metal hook and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
It is an amazing hook!!! 🧶🧶🧶
I like a mix between expensive and budget friendly hooks too! 🧶🧶🧶
I’m a huge fan of the furls streamline metal hooks. I started with one then ended up buying the entire set. I crocheted for over 50 years with mainly Clover hooks but since I switched to the furls I have no more wrist pain.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with them! 🧶🧶🧶
I LOVE that hubby came back for another science test! Furls are not in my budget, "naughty hook", but I might have to splurge on just one one day. Great video, Elise!
Thank you so much!! ❤️
this comment is quite irrelevant to the video, but i love watching your videos, i find them so calming and i love to just have them on in the background while i crochet! you are quite literally my go-to crochet youtuber! ❤
Awww! Thank you so very much! 🧶🧶🧶
I love my furls metal. Only have 1 so far…6.5mm. But the larger ones I feel would be excellent for those projects with heavier weight yarn. It is soooo smooth. ❤ no chance of breaking. 😏
But I see the benefit if having other hooks for sure. Especially if just learning it on the go! Interesting video!! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much for sharing!! It is soooooo smooth! 🧶🧶🧶
I bought some Furls Streamline Metal hooks because I had been waiting for them to reappear. They are my favorite hooks. The Onyx ones are fabulous!
Oooh!! I'll have to try that one! 🧶🧶🧶
So far one of my favourite videos ever! This was so entertaining and informative. I may just have to treat myself to a Furls metal one now. Thank you so much. My husband also enjoyed listening in the background as he also has a very technical/scientific mind.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you so much for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
I L.O.V.E. that you did this again with the Furl's Streamline Metal hook. I had 1 hook to go in Silver when they came out with onyx. I was fortunate to get 4 onyx to start when they rolled out rose! 😮🤦🏼♀️ I'm not sure i can even crochet with anything else now! So worth the cost if you're going to commit to this art form.
They are such amazing hooks!! 🧶🧶🧶
I feel like as soon as you realized you could test these you grabbed every hook you own to compare. I know I would!
ENJOY YOUR CHANNEL YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO , WHEN YOU WANT TO DO IT.❤
I just got one of the onyx streamlines.
I am so impressed with the Streamline Metal. I just wish it came in smaller sizes! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet Me too! I have a 3.5 mm silver BUT I've really got my eyes peeled for that 3.5 mm Onyx!!! 🤩
Elise, I believe the original Streamline Metal hook was released in 2022 before Furls lost their manufacturer of the Odyssey line. I don’t believe they were ever meant to replace the Odysseys. They were simply meant to be a new line of hooks.
Thanks for sharing that information! 🧶🧶🧶
In my cup full of favorite crochet hooks, I always grab the Furl's streamline hook absentmindedly over my Clover's. My hand just feels better with it over a long period of time, and I have psoriatic arthritis.
It really does feel good when crocheting with it! 🧶🧶🧶
I love your videos about the Dollar Tree products because my very first crochet hook a few years ago was one of these Dollar Tree ones! Such a great way to start on my crochet journey!
It really is a great starter hook!! 🧶🧶🧶
Hi Elise! You’re my favorite TH-camr. Your the best! ❤ great job!
Awww! Thank you so much! 🧶🧶🧶
Just to throw in another factor... I find that if it's "too smooth" that i lose control of the glide and the stitch quality suffers.... as they say.. different strokes for different folks
That's a good point! If you love ultra smooth hooks, it's amazing! 🧶🧶🧶
I’ve been watching you for a while and you are so inspiring to me. Your channel us such a comfort channel for me and watching y ou just makes me so happy ❤😊
Awwww! That is the highest compliment! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Your husband is adorable. He has a great smile! Thanks for another great video.
Awww! Thank you! ❤️
I loved the science in this video! I've never seen anyone measure in micro inches before and definitely didn't know what a profilometer was before. Now to find the previous video...
It's the Woobles video! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
I have tried several different hooks and always go back to my old fashioned Susan Bates aluminum hooks. I stopped trying to find the center pull a long time ago and got myself a yarn butler, which I absolutely love.
Thanks so much for sharing! The best hooks are the ones that work for you! 🧶🧶🧶
If they haven't already... I see a Furls care package in your future 🤗 I'm sure they appreciate this!
🤣🤣🤣
It was great fun watching you both trying out the smoothness of the hooks that I know I will never get in India! But I was amazed at the new Furls' smoothness! Just WOW!😮
It really was pretty incredible!! 🧶🧶🧶
Love when your husband is on. My dad was an aeronautical engineer. I am my father’s daughter although I did get my artistic chops from my mom
What a wonderful combination! 🧶🧶🧶
I got the black furls streamline hook, and for some reason, it feels smoother to me than the original silver one! You should test it...just saying, lol
Haha!!! If you insist!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I find the science behind my craft fascinating. The two episodes featuring the doohickey machine are amongst my favourites. This is such a unique approach to the craft. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed both videos! ❤️❤️❤️
I love nerdy videos. This was fantastic! And your hubs is so sweet and charming. The two of you are so great together ❤️ thanks for this fun and informative video!
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
I just tried the we crochet Dot hooks and I love them
Hello lovely Elise and Hubby, great video, really interesting. Or I just do not know what I am missing out on with good quality hooks and yarn !??🤭 Love and prayers to u both.💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🧶🧶🧶
Thank you so much!! 🧶🧶🧶
This video touched a place in my math/crochet heart!!! Thank you!!!!❤❤
Awww! I'm so glad!! 🧶🧶🧶
I recently bought an aluminum Furls to try. When I crochet on the couch, I use a floor Ott light behind me. The glare off of the hook was a bit blinding! So comfortable and easy on my hand, though.
I only use Furls Crochet Hooks and their Streamline Metals are the absolute best in my experience!!!
Such nice hooks! 🧶🧶🧶
This is a wicked helpful video. I was debating about getting the furls hook. Knowing it's weight alone helped make my choice. Great video!!❤
I'm so glad it was helpful! 🧶🧶
Hey lovely! Early today normally don’t see till a few hours. Loved watching the last time hubby used his tool was fab
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the suggestions!! 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶
I love the little “science experiment” 😁 I’d love to see how the Furls metal hooks compare to Clover hooks. I love how smooth the Clover hooks are, but the skinny and short handles make my hands cramp up.
Thanks for the suggestion! 🧶🧶🧶
I like shorter hooks like the dollar tree and Hobby Lobby with the flowers leaves on them. They don't hurt my hand over time. I like tapered handle.
My Husband would get a hoot out of testing the crochet hooks. He is an Engineer and previously an Engine Reconditioner. He uses his 'tool-cutter grinder' to reshape the worn ends of my knitting needles for me 😊
That is awesome!! 👏 Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
❤ I requested this in the last video your brilliant husband was in! I'm so excited! THANK YOU!
I'm so glad!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love my Furls Odyssey!!
Me too!! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you!
Oooh!! They look so beautiful!! 🧶🧶🧶
@EliseRoseCrochet aren't they? I'm such a sucker for rose gold..thank you! ❤️
I have to say... part of what I love about wood is that it is warm... as in not cool to the touch.
Now that would be an interesting test! Thank you for the suggestion! And I hope you get some rest!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
Because who doesn’t need a good doohickey?? It’s so fun to watch you with hubby - you make such an adorable couple 😊
I want a Furls so bad, but I wish they would make 2.5 or 2.75, as I do much more Amigurumi than other crochet. Did Furls gift the yarn?
I wish they did as well! I typically use a 2.5 mm hook as well. And yes! They gifted them! 🧶🧶🧶
I try not to cram too many things in one video but I thought I would share the yarn in case folks were interested in it. 🧶🧶🧶
I do love when you get scientific with those hooks!!! love it when your husband joins the channel, you make a great team!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️❤️
They are the heaviest hooks I've ever used before. So far they don't cause any fatigue with my joints but I can see how they could. ❤️❤️❤️
Well! I found a deal on the Clover Amour 10 piece set. Yoykies! I thought my $14.99 set with their floral handles and matching tote were good enough. Well, these are amazing! And even as a beginner I can see how they’ll make me better at crochet!
I have a sanding set for resin dice creation and I use it on my metal crochet hooks. It makes them glide like a hot knife through butter
I love the scientific approach! So interesting. Love all the videos and always look forward to see what you highlight. Have a great week as well!🤗
Thank you! You too! ❤️
Love the comparison of all the hooks. I have wanted one of those metal streamline Furls hooks since I seen them come out still haven’t got one, but I’m going to soon hopefully. They are beautiful!! 💙
Glad you enjoyed the video! 🧶🧶🧶
That new hook looks dreamy! & the yarn too! Keep the videos coming. Love your content🎉😊
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dear Elise,
Thank you for sharing and I’m glad your husband brought his profilometer to test the new Furls hook - it will definitely be interesting to see if there is a difference between the new silver, onyx and blush Aluminium Furls hook.
Is there a huge difference between the odyssey and the new aluminium when crocheting 🧶 I would love to know if you found any difference between them.
Love your channel.
Take care and stay safe. God’s Blessings to you and your family 🩷🧶🙏🏽😻🐶
That would be interesting to test as well!! 🧶🧶🧶
That was interesting. I have Tulip and Clover Amour that I use and Furls that just sit in a display case.
Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
This was really interesting! Hubby proved it, you really do get what you pay for!
Definitely!! 🧶🧶🧶
As someone who sorely misses the odyssey range (sob!) and was hesitant to buy the metal furls hooks, thank you for the info and reviews! 🤩
Edit: Went and bought a metal streamline and oh my good gravy Marie it is AMAZING. The hook is smaller than the streamline or odyssey but that actually helps with difficult yarns. I’m gonna say it…it’s better than an odyssey. It just edges a clover amour as well. Get them. Worth then $.
Yay! So glad you saw our comments to bring Mr. Science back to test the hooks (and I mean that in the most complimentary way!).
Haha!!! He's such a good sport and I'll bring him back again!! 🧶🧶🧶
You had me sold! Thank you and your hubby for this fun test!
For those who like a longer hook, someone suggested to put an Ipad pencil grip on the end of a shorter hook to give it more length. It’s a tip I try to share as often as I can because it helped me so much!
Great tip! Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
On Amazon, I purchased hooks similar to the discontinued Furls. It’s the Lewhoo brand beech wood crochet hooks set.
Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
I'm curious how the Furls Streamline wood hook compares to Nelsonwood hooks. Nelsonwood hooks are quite pricey, but you get to customize it and they turn out extremely beautiful.
Oooh! I haven't heard of those hooks before!!! I'll have to check them out! Thanks for sharing!! ❤️❤️❤️
thank you for comparing it to the odyssey hooks. sometimes the weight is too heavy for some projects, but i love the stitch definition
Glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
They are very pretty, but sometimes pretty can be misleading. Thank you for all your wonderful videos and the work you put into them.
Those are on my list to try!!!! 🧶🧶🧶
I like when you show us the high end she hooks the most buy them from Michael’s I think it’s great that you show us with the difference
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶
